Installed cabinets that were not correct. Changed cabinet companies and insist they are the correct ones. Since we live on sight we were able to catch a great deal of mistakes before it was too late. Home is not completed yet and already I have buyer s remorse. Our whole house color scheme is gray and yet the cabinets are brown. They are also substandard (I could buy better at Home Depot!). Now we will have to pay thousands to get them the correct color. Too many issues.
We like our home that Tilson built but it didn't come without troubles....a lot of troubles....that are still not resolved! To start, it took a very long time for them to build the home. We live out in the country; they said they had troubles getting contractors to work out this far.
Recently, we submitted for some warranty work. When Nick Taylor called, he instantly said the crack in our ceiling was cosmetic - Nick had not seen it, nor listened for two minutes into the conversation before he made the assessment. The phone conversation ended when Nick hung up on my husband, the customer.
When we submitted the work order, we were told it was no longer under warranty. We pulled and sited the warranty with dates, because they were wrong, it was not past the two year period and their warranty clearly stated so. Today is 8/11/20 as I write this, and our warranty is documented to expire 9/28/2020, with electrical listed.
We are still trying to get our electrical fixed but now they have no longer corresponded with us - funny because the warranty does actually expire next month.
Christy Reyes was also copied and still took no action either.
We are beyond frustrated with Tilson and have been for two years. There are several new homes being built in this area and I want to make sure everyone knows not to use Tilson, as they do not honor their word.
Incredibly disappointed with Tilson s service. I have waited so long and worked so hard to be in the position to build my family s home and I wasted months of my time with Tilson. We even signed a contract but Tilson backed out of it because of a pond that used to be on my lot. This decision was made without even testing the dirt at all.
We went ahead and paid a lab to get the area tested in 6 spots and all results indicated the dirt was good and compacted for building.
While my experience has been unpleasant, I will say that Patricia at the Angleton was great. Unfortunately, I don t see myself sharing any good feedback on Tilson down the road, especially when we ve selected a true custom builder who has exceeded the expectations we ve set. If you re looking for a custom home, Tilson is not what you re looking for. A custom home isn t choosing the 3 options the builder give you and upgrading 20 levels when you decide you don t want any of those options, it s getting the exact product you want for a fair price.
I hope others get a better experience than we did.
We were told that it would take 9 months to build our home- weather dependent. We are now entering month 13 and our home is not finished. We have not had bad weather. Our home sat for nearly 6 months without any work being done. Now that they have come out to do some work, we have seen some progress. However, our house will sit for weeks without anyone coming out to do any work. Our biggest frustration has been that we cannot get anyone to contact us back within a timely manner. We have been waiting for 5 days for someone to call us back. We have called and text daily asking for a response, with no contact. They have our "final walk through" scheduled for Friday (2 days), but we still have a hole in our roof. If we could go back to July of 2014, we would have never signed the paperwork with this company. I am so frustrated and feel like my money has been wasted.
Tilson refused to help me with the crappie Job the electrician did on my house of 6 years , and my ac broke down and I had to replace the whole unit myself out of pocket, Christy Reyes never returns my calls. I would not recommend Tilson to built anyone house they kiss butt while your building but then afterwards when things go wrong they don t want anything to do with you. And what sad this is my second home I built w them. Had no problem w my first but second home has a lot of issues, bad paint job the floors were not done right, the kitchen island was slanted and the kitchen cabinets took forever to get right ,I wish I had went w another builder, my lights still makes the breaker goes off ,Tilson is the sorriest builders I know at this point .
