Floyd from Thomas Auto Salvage had a motor pulled ...
Floyd from Thomas Auto Salvage had a motor pulled and supposedly cleaned and tested for me upon arrival. Unfortunately it was the incorrect motor. When asked about mileage he gave me an approx. around 50,000 and claimed he did not remember exactly, but carried himself with a great deal of confidence which gained my interest and trust. He then proceeded by saying all his motors were tested so quickly I responded with ," does this engine have oil" which he couldn't answer. ":Was the oil pan removed " he said yes. Then I asked ,"Did you replace the gaskets". Again he said yes. Any ways I realized the engine was the wrong one fortunately he had another in the yard. Well they had to pull that engine. I then realized none of what he told was true. The engine he pulled was not fired up oil not dumped nor did he want to share mileage information. I was desperate and since the engine was 2 years newer than mine I listen to him when he said engine had no more than 80,000. Bullshit, I got the vin number and ran a report. The engine had 130,000. Doubling what an 2008 engine is estimated to have. The guy is very spitfire like has an answer for everything and likes changing the subject. My main complaint is when I contacted him regarding the situation he responded with ," I'll get back to you tomorrow". Well after to more attempts the guy simply refuses to respond and or help. One other thing even if he does respond he'll ask for a 30% restocking fee roughly around $500. Never doing business with this guy again. My advice to you is to make sure youre getting what you are asking for before purchasing from him. HE IS A LIAR. DONT TRUST HIM. He has been in this business a long time and knows what customers want to hear.
