My trinchado was simply superb and my partner rated her schnitzel as one of the best she's ever had. That deserves 5 stars and makes Collin's a firm favourite.

August 2019:
After an earlier bad experience a friend suggested a revisit so we went back in August 2019. This time round my steak was good and my partner had an almost perfect eisbein. The service was still professional and friendly so for all that we had to up the rating.

When we arrived and throughout our stay here there was continual fighting between the griller, the waitrons and the Manager. Generally the service was fair to good.
Menu has a good selection of food and wine and white is served chilled as it should be. I ordered a medium rare steak and it very medium. That was disappointing. Won't be returning

It is the first time that I have been there. The atmosphere, the food and our waiter was brilliant. I will definitely be back!!!

Lovely place! I've been here on two occasions and thoroughly enjoyed it. Their dry aged T-bone steak is definitely a favourite. The service is, however, a little bit on the slow side and I'd strongly suggest that they add more lighting.

I took the entire family out one evening (all eight of us) and decided to give Collins a try. Never been there and was looking forward to it.

I wasnt really impressed with the ambience - it didn't feel like a steakhouse, so they need to make some improvents there.The waitress was pleasant and engaging. The food was good and tasty.

However on an evening that wasn't busy our food took AN ENTIRE HOUR - I'm not kidding! An hour to grill some burgers. (I received a phone call after I placed my order so I had the time on my phone). The food arrived an hour later an the staff weren't fazed at this. For this reason it gets 2 stars.

I have been calling the restaurant for the last few days and no one is picking up the phone. How do I make a booking if no one answers the phone, responds to email, responds to Facebook. Must I just pitch up and take a chance.

One of my favourite restaurants for Ribs. The waiters are always friendly, funny and very welcoming. The beef ribs are especially amazing. They serve some of the best ribs you can ever have here and if you are unsure whether to go for pork ribs or beef ribs then you can try their half and half serving option for the best of both worlds. They allow corkage here. A favourite spot indeed.

Interior and style shows age and the waiter was a 7/10. The meat was amazing!!! We had the "My Steak" and it was awsome. Worth the R195....and they accept Entertainer!! Will be back soon!!

I usually order pork ribs for collection, and the ribs are always tasty, soft and full of flavour. I would definitely recommend Collins Ribs to anyone who asks where to find good ribs in Cape Town!

Welcomed as per usual with great enthusiasm, table as requested set and waitron, Angie attentative as per normal.
Skaapstertjies as speciality as starter were fabulous and the hand picked and recommended steaks as per guidance from Drian spot on

Food was great. Angie our waitress was fabulous. Only little complaint is toilets don't get fresh air so have stuffy smell. But will be back

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals at Collin's Grill and Butcher, we both had the Blockman's fillet - wow! It was our first time at the restaurant and we will be back. The only reason I did not give a 5 rating is because it's very kid friendly. I don't know if it's the norm but kids were running up and down playing with paper aeroplanes. Regardless of this we had a great night out and the service was very good, friendly staff.

dont go there or eat there food is terrible and they were out of stock and not on the entertainer anymore service was slow and brought wrong orders i hate the spur but rather go to the spur than collins grill

This is the most awesome little hidden away resturant. Their steaks are literally no joke! Words cannot describe the amazing everything here!

Place is undergoing a shake up and it's noticeable. Steaks are always tops, service is pleasant and attentive but there are some nice changes going on. Looks like there is a change in senior management. Looking forward to my next visit.

Disappointing experience. Baked potato was hard, sour cream was off, steak was sinewy. The night could possibly have been saved by good service, but we only saw our waitress once, when she took the order. She didn't bring us cutlery, there was no salt on the table, someone else eventually brought our food, another person removed our plates, and we had to find her at the till to get our bill and pay. The only redeeming factor was that we could bring our own wine, and they didn't charge corkage...

Quite over priced for the lack in ambience and food was below average. Won't go back there again. Service was okay but all and all not a place that I'd recommend to anyone.

Thoroughly enjoyed the delicious, mouthwatering meal I had at Collin's. The service was very good and the waiters were friendly and welcoming. I took away one star cause I think the place looks a bit antique, it would do with a lil upgrade especially upstairs.

We had a lovely lunch at Collin's this afternoon. Friendly staff and delicious food!

This is an absolute must for any steak lover. atmosphere was pleasant and chilled. The main attraction is without a doubt by recommendation of the waiter Zac (who was the best waiter we have had in some time) the blockmans special 300g fillet filled with feta and biltong powder wrapped with bacon!!! note try with mustard seed. The softest juiciest cut you could imagine. THe 800g ribs was just as good

Good atmosphere. Menu small while recovering from Covid shutdown (would have liked a salad on the side) but the steaks were superb.

Maybe just unlucky?? Took my wife and mother (85 years) to what I believe a smart and top class place. What a disappointment, both sirloin stakes, ( one medium to well and one medium to rare). Could not tell the difference between the two dishes at all. The lady served both the two ladies and said I must wait, the chef overdone my egg????

Now how can a place been rated 4/5 with this. Everytime we had to look for waitress. Will never recommend Collins n'to anybody, rather go to a Spur, better food, better service and better prices!!!

Good waitron, ribs were good but burger mince was off. Sour to the taste and not good to smell. Instead of saying it was ordered today or that "I tasted it as well and it was fine", rather bring the plate and taste it with the client and explain why it tastes and smells the way it did. Also the rule of thumb is to treat the client as if they are right and find out how you can make up for the unpleasant experience rather than wanting to prove that you are right. It creates for a bad experience for the client. By saying we will take the burger off the bill when the client is paying with The Entertainer doesn't make any difference at the end of the day as well because the cheapest meal was free. Clients see these things and it's not a good impression to try to trick them. The two stars rating allocation is: one for the waiter and one for the ribs that's it.

Excellent Chicken Cordon Blue. Cooked to perfection. Best butternut ever. The service was five star.

The service was great but the eisbein was overcooked and still had hair on it. Sorry but that is just unacceptable to have those big thick pork hair still on food in restaurant. The steak my wife had was amazing

A really great piece of meat. My waiter suggested that I combine the 3 different bastings but I think the cut would have been better without the barbecue basting. It overpowered the meat a little. Olive oil and mustard seeds would have been perfect. Mashed potatoes were the way my gran made them and the stir-fry veggies were not over cooked. Wine list is good and prices are acceptable. Decor and setting is starting to look a little dated but as long as the steaks remain equally well aged we can ignore this detail.
