We went there for a business lunch. The food was great, classic fish and chips.
Cauiflour Soup was like water and added extra herbs dried herbs in it that did not say on menu so complained but was treated like I was in wrong and paid the bill and walked out.
A surprising pleasant old style Inn with a good menu to choose from. The quality and service were polite friendly.
Food and service fantastic would recommend .. especially if you are staying in the hotel .
Terrible visited for evening meal; Ordered chicken told it would take 20 minutes 40 minutes later asked and found out they had lost the order. changed order to monkfish when it arrived it was overcooked tasteless etc.
To be fair they did not charge us for the meal but it was a terrible evening. If you go keep an eye on the time and remind them.
Nice pub, fine selection of local real ale, a more than adequate wine selection, friendly staff, good pub grub and coffee (spot the nominated driver). The pub is near the village centre with it's own small pub car park, but can be accessed from the large main village car park via a small bridge over the stream. Well worth a visit.
Food was really good. .prices fair..staff very nice...id recommend this lovely pub...
Really good food and landlord is a very nice and generous man with a brilliant staff
Always a warm welcome. Great food. Child and adult friendly. Highly recommended
Food exelant went last night sirloin steak melted in mouth stsff lovely, better than wookey hole pirate restaurant by far would recomend
Excellent food. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Well worth a visit.
Went to view the caves as a wedding venue. Lovely, lovely staff. Stephanie and Brian were great. Couldn't have been more accommodating.
Excellent love the rooms and a lovely friendly staff great food free Wi-Fi
They handled our large group very well. The food was nice but expensive for what it was
Lovely lass serving, great food and located in a beautiful village
Didn't stay here to be honest as we were acroos the road in the hotel.......However we had an evening meal here two nights on the trot and it was superb. Staff really freindly, good atmosphere and like I said above the food was on point .....hihly reccomend the Wook burger ;)
Ate here on the eat out to help out scheme 2 nights ago. Food was excellent and staff were friendly with good service. Really lovely setting...idealic traditional English pub. Going again tonight, and really looking forward to it.
Thank you for today on mum's funeral' you gave us a great service and the atmosphere was very relaxing
Came in for dinner. Was so pleased we did, wish we had on the first night!
The food was unbelievably amazing. So much so I was told I couldn't take the chef home.... Staff really friendly. Can't recommend this place enough.
Top food.... great service.... quirky atmosphere... all in all a great night out!!
Food excellent service good ,friendly and welcoming
Absolutely lovely place and the food was delicous with a lovely ambience. I went there with my hubby last night and nothing was too much for the lovely guy serving us and we asked if they did cocktails but they didn't bit the guy said he would try make them out of what they had and he did and that is what you call excellent customer service and much appreciated. The only one small thing that I'd have liked was if the table of 4 wasn't right cramped in next to us where the lady serving put them as there were lots of other tables free and would have been more spread out as she kept knocking into me in her chair but not a massive deal as the service was fantastic and food out of this world. Best pub meal we've had in this country and for what it is not over priced.
You need to come here... I ended a walk from Priddy at this delightful pub. I recieved a brilliantly warm welcome and enjoyed my beer in the lovely beer garden. The fact that they have Leffe on draught will keep me coming back again and again. The best attraction in wookey...
Came just after food service but the chef still cooked us something which was appreciated.
Really very good Sunday roast. Nice pub garden, friendly staff. Will definitely go again soon.
Excellent food good sevice friendly staff made us feel like old friends
Overall a fantastic experience that I couldnt recommend more. We arrived quite late to the Wookey Hole Inn but we shown to our room immediately. It is situated very close to the Wookey caves (5 minute walk if that) which was ideal for the purpose of our visit. The room itself was gorgeous with a large double bed, very modern decor and even a glass mermaid table with sitting-matts and a chess board on top. The bathroom was also very clean and spacious. There is only a bathtub and no shower but this was no problem for me and I had a wonderfully relaxing bath. Other features include a TV with a nice channel selection and a VHS player. In the hallway outside the room a bookcase sits lined with a huge variety of old VHS tapes for a nice nostalgic retreat. After settling in, my partner and I went down for dinner and dispite how busy it was, we were seated straight away. Service could not have been better. The staff were wonderful and extremely efficient even during busy periods. Both meals were also superb (Wookey Burger and especially the Lamb) and the price was very reasonable for the food. The bed itself was very comfortable and both my partner and myself commented on how much of a restful sleep we got. However, the best surprise was found in the morning. As an added bonus, around 8 in the morning a lovely breakfast basket is left outside the door. This consisted of a continental breakfast featuring apples, bananas, oranges, 3 types of pastry, cereal and milk, orange juice etc. This was such a superb addition and could not have been more welcome as it gave us a great start to the rest of the day. I would recommend staying at The Wookey Hole Inn to anyone. Not just because of the fantastic service, friendly staff and beautiful room, but also because the great price and value for money.
Had a 2night 3 day experiance at wooky with grandchildren aged 9 and 4 plenty to keep them occupied during the day time upto 5pm after dinner watched the movie in the cinema 7.30 showing taking us up to bed time and we turned in early our last night as the adults were shattered lol there's a lot to do and keep you busy.
Great setting, friendly staff and absolutely cracking roast dinners!
Fantastic food
Really good atmosphere
Good choice of beers
Friendly staff and they let doggies in
All the best to the staff
Excellent service, catered for a party of 19 at the drop of a hat, no groans or sighs just smiles and a great welcome
1 star is too much for the way we have been told 2 evenings in a row to go away.
1st night the reason was - Kitchen is very busy, sorry. And while we was still outside, people get in without problem.
2nd night, in a almost empty restaurant - sorry we are fully booked. When we said "we need to feed our kids" the answer was "Thats your responsibility, not mine."
The actual reason was that we were with two under 2years old with us two buggies seems to be a problem.
Friendly staff. Great food. Made me feel very welcome. Nice selection of real ales. Would recommend to anyone.
Great food, fitted us in right next to the fire without a reservation near the end of the food service.
Excellent food & service. Highly recommend.
Make sure you go when the childrens circus is on.Very impressed.
Amazing care from start to finish, the lovely landlord even dried our toddler's jogging pants as we came in soaked, he also provided us with a towel - nothing was too much for him and the staff. The food was amazing and the atmosphere lovely and calm.
Very nice, excellent room, great beer .
Staff very friendly, and best of all the weather made the be garden even better
Nothing is too much trouble. I stay regularly and all my requests ( a teapot!) are remembered and fulfilled. A real welcome awaits and the food is excellent.
Wasn't terrible, great atmosphere near some great sites
Great food
Good beer garden
Great friendly staff
I had the tastiest chips of my life here today plus a delicious wild boar burger. Cleanest restaurant I think i have ever seen and very friendly. Cosy atmosphere and would be a great place to take kids. Def will visit again.
Excellent tour through the cave, however the maze of commercial arcade type stuff was not my thing
Lovely food really great staff can't recommend enough
Set in the village of Wookey just outside Wells this is a lovely pub/restaurant and garden, we ordered starters as a light lunch option...WOW....food is on another level, freshly prepared and absolutely amazing!!!!!! Lovely tranquil location if you want to get out of hustle and bustle of Wells...Strongly Recommend...
Great little pub Inn with amazing food. Wish I knew about this place before booking into the hotel across the road. The chef here always delivers with amazement. Great company, great drinks
Very nice hotel. The breakfast was also delicious! We will be back!
Loved our 6 night stay, food was amazing as always and Richard and the staff are very friendly. The breakfast basket was a lovely touch and unexpected. Thanks for a great stay. See you again soon x
Stayed again for the weekend, had a fabulous time, as usual. Fantastic food and fantastic staff. Thanks again for making it a great weekend
Delightful owners, reasonably broad menu with incredible chunky home cut chips and a decent sized garden. What's not to love?
Favourite pub for drinks and food. Excellent friendly staff and a great landlord
Clean, warm, quiet overall very pleasant and the same price as a Travelodge. I didn't use for food as I am skint, but we all slept very well and the staff were nice.
Amazing food, lovely staff and dog friendly. What more could you ask for
Such a warm and friendly place, we had a lovely night yesterday and rhe food was really good - properly homecooked! All the staff were really nice and made us all feel welcome. Thank you, you have something quite special abd unique in Wookie x
I love this hotel. This is the first time me and my wife stayed in the wookey hole hotel and we will return. Rooms are very comfortable. Beds are comfy to. Meals are very nice but breakfasts are a little pricy. But all the same are very nice. Wookey hole caves are just over the road. The city of wells is only 5 mins drive down the road and is also great with plenty to do.
Awesome food lovely people! We where down for a wedding and the staff at the pub where very friendly and accommodating. They bent over backwards to get us a table for our 20+ plus as a bonus the food was amazing and reasonable. 10/10
Lovely quirky Inn. Stayed for two nights, made to feel right at home. The food was fantastic and the service truly was amazing the owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and even when they were very very busy all staff kept a smile on their faces and made sure everyone was looked after and happy.
wow - food was just brill, a must if you going to the Wookey hole
Enjoyed a lovely meal with my husband and 2 teenage children at the Wookey Hole Inn this evening. We all thought the food was delicious and the staff were really attentive. My daughter wanted a meal off the children's menu but in a larger portion and this was no problem at all. We would definitely return!
We had a really nice family meal. With great service. Thank you.
Love it. Good sized rooms, great value, excellent food and, above all, really friendly staff. Would highly recommend.
On visiting the Wookey hole Hotel this weekend looking forward to a nice weekend away ,we were a little disappointed not with the Hotel with the food side of things ,thank god for the Wookey hole inn ,where we visited friday lunch time had a nice drink and booked for Saturday evening thank god ,the food is great very tasty ,the staff are most welcoming and helpful, having had a meal on Saturday evening we booked for sunday roast which was beautiful, the Wookey Hole Inn saved are weekend
Thank you
Absolutely exquisite meal. The staff were extremely welcoming and the place had such a relaxing atmosphere. I was amused by the pot of crayons on the table so that you could draw on the tablecloth! I didn't notice until after my meal but still had fun doing it. The meal took a sensible amount of time to arrive and presentation was great. I cannot fault the place. I just wish I lived near so I could go again.
We came for a few drinks and evening meal for my birthday, was absolutely amazing all the staff were lovely, chef came and discussed with myself and hubby about the food as we're chefs too, food was incredible, we will be returning next month as we enjoyed it that much, don't change a thing. Xx
Brief stay - clean, pleasant- close to pub:))v reasonable
Surprisingly nice menu and great for a stop if you're having a hike. Staff were friendly and gave good directions
Despite good reviews, we had a less than average meal which was at the higher end of price. My burger which was on the specials board was so tasteless I actually wondered if it was meat. My wife's salmon was OK but but the skin on it was wet and soggy rather than being crisped up and it was served with a disgusting gelatinous minestrone flavour sauce. Don't believe the hype
Stopped in for lunch a few weeks back. Good selection of drinks, a great menu with children's options as well.
The food we had was all excellent, and the staff were polite and timely with their service.
Great food, good drink and the friendliest of welcomes. I'll be back!
An excellent place to dine. Has a cosy atmosphere with comfortable seating, well spaced tables and interesting curios. Friendly welcome, great table service and a good selection on the menu. Wild Boar Burger was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The hand cut chips were great and a lovely change from the typical stick fries. The Lemon Meringue Tartlet was beautifully presented and tasty. Couldn't find any faults and that includes the prices.
