Great ambiance in the restaurant/bar. Music a tad too loud, but it helped mask conversation.

Loved it! Spacious suite and delicious welcome cookie
It looks amazing inside and out. The employees make you feel right at home, and the rooms are very nice and very comfortable.
Nice staff, good size rooms, hip but comfortable atmosphere
Overpriced drinks, non attentive servers and a decent view of downtown but hard to believe it's the best as they claim.
A fun Bar in a magnificent Downtown Chicago location
Friendly staff, excellent location in central Chicago.
A beautiful hotel in a great location with outstanding service! My wife and I needed to arrive at different times, and have luggage sent to the room--all handled flawlessly by the friendly reception staff. The lobby is a beautiful modern space and the rooms are nicely furnished and clean. Big windows to enjoy the view of the city. The hotel is right by the river and one can easily walk to the Chicago Theatre, Eataly, and many other nice locations. Room service is delivered quickly by the friendly staff. Highly recommend this place in Chicago.
Experienced a wonderful stay at theWit Chicago over a three-day weekend. The hotel is conveniently located at the State/Lake "L" stop. Consider using the "L" while you stay at theWit during your next stay in Chicago (parking here is a steep $65/nightly). Upon our early arrival, we were warmly welcomed to Chicago by a front-desk staff member named Ashley. She took the time to thank us for staying at theWit, provided recommendations for our visit, and helped us check in early so we could begin our tour on foot without bags. During our visit, we took full advantage of the State and Lake restaurant downstairs and the dining experience at the top of the hotel. Our room was very clean and well-kept during our stay. The only downside is that the shower curtain was not water-resistant. Both the lining and the outside decorative curtain had to be placed inside the tub wall to prevent water from flooding the bathroom floor (learned the hard way). Thank you to theWit staff for an excellent stay! We will absolutely stay here again and recommend it to our friends!
We didn't stay at the wit. We just went to the bar on the roof and it was amazing.
Love staying here, it is within walking distance of so many things.
The only issue I had was the valet parking, they could use more space out front to service
Fantastic location, beautiful hotel, top notch staff
The location is great! The room is great! The staff was super nice and helpful
I was proposed my girlfriend here and book apartment paid over 750$ give them notice in advance what planning to do.Few friends come to help me with surprise and after few hours hotel manager come and told we must go on the rooftop just to pay entrance and spend more money there. They not even said congratulations.
I attended an event at the Rooftop and the view was great, the service was great and the drinks and food were spectacular as well!
Clean rooms. Convenient downtown location makes it easy to go anywhere in Chicago via the train or taxi. Restaurant attached to hotel is very good; excellent breakfast and dinner menus.
I stayed at theWit for 3 days and it was a pleasant experience. The room was very clean and had a nice view to the city.
The rooftop bar was very trendy and has a gorgeous view of the city, I highly recommend getting an afternoon drink there. I didnt stay later to watch it turn into a more nightclub scene, but it looks like it would be a really cool spot to hangout in.
The hotel was all I could expect (and more), but the staff astounded me! A much warmer, more personable and caring staff than any hotel I've stayed in, including luxury brands. From check in to check out and every point in between, The Wit's team kept us impressed. And I'm very hard to impress.
Very nice room. Mini bar wasn't stocked.. nice guest service. Would return.
The room was a good size and clean. The bathroom was really nice. I there was space for about 8 people to hang out and listen to music. The view was beautiful from the window.
Very nice hotel, the view of downtown was impressive.
Clean and comfortable. We were traveling with older teens though and did not feel welcome on the roof top even though it was only 7pm.
We had some drinks in the downstairs restaurant. The service was great and so were the drinks. Then we moved upstairs to the rooftop when the downstairs closed. It was a club atmosphere. It's nice that it's closed in when the weather is cold. I'm sure it's really nice when it's opened up, too.
We booked one of the suites with kitchenette. If you are planning on doing the same, be advised that you should bring your own everything not even disposable coffee cups or water glasses were provided unless you feel like paying $8 for a pair of paper plates and 2 water glasses. Very disappointing.
Room was also not properly restocked after the previous guest s visit and the heater in room makes the same sound that movies use to convey the approach of something large & dangerous a very deep thrum you can feel in your bones.
Nice rooftop lounge area. Food selection is very minimal - not good for dinner.
Great amenities and location. The rooms are recently renovated. Great rooftop lounge. No Concierge Lounge.
Attended an event at Roof. Excellent atmosphere and views. Great drinks. Great service. A must see!
Checked in and room looked clean but found a dirty sock in my bed. I think given the times there should be extra attention to detail as they ve made me nervous now. They did move me to a new room promptly which was great. Edit: 03/17/2021 - Had to cancel a couple of zoom meetings this morning because they decided to start construction at 8AM without any prior notice to the guests. Called down spoke to the manager who apologized and said she'd ask them to keep it down. 10 minutes later it started again. Manager offered to switch my room again, I refused the offer as I can't afford to be moving rooms all day. Very frustrated and aside from a "sorry" - there was nothing else the hotel offered to do. Room was is very nice though and has a microwave and a good size fridge. I'm sure everyone's experience won't be like mine because the hotel it self is nicely appointed and the location is amazing. There is a lot of train noise at night so if you're a light sleeper I would reconsider.
We were in the roof venue space. Really nice shot for a group of 100. Can go open air in the summer, but it was cold outside and the room was insulated and comfortable. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Great hotel, room was amazing with a fantastic view!
The staff was excellent, we went for bottle service a they had food! Be sure to try the bone marrow. And ask for Gia. We all had a fantastic evening. The view is awesome. At one point they had a live show.
Comfortable chic rooms. Save even more by booking through Hotwire! Love the location for state street shopping.
Roof top bar though touristy-- it's a great clubby lounge for groups.
Location was great - a few blocks away from theatres, very close to the subway station. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were clean; our shower was broken but they were very prompt in fixing it.
The wit in downtown Chicago was a great stay. The staff was very welcoming and took care of everything for us very well. It is located very close to many attractions. StateLake restaurant on the ground floor was also very good.
The Staff is awesome! They even acknowledged my birthday today! Beautiful views, WONDERFUL staff and beautiful decor. Also, we were greeted at the front desk with a smile and warm cookies upon our arrival.
What a departure from traditional hotels. Location, facility, staff and amenities are top notch. A hotel you actually want to hang out in.
The bar on the top of theWit is a great venue. Beautiful space, good drinks and good food. This was a party so I didn't get exposed to the price for anything but it was a good venue to visit.
Good place for drinks and relaxed atmosphere. Gets busy on weekends
Lovely little hotel. Very near theatre district. Convenient, a short walk to the Cloud Gate and northern end of Millenium Park. Staff was very friendly and helpful. (Patrick went out of his way to be friendly and knowledgeable about the area!)
I love The Wit! Why?
- crowd has taste
- amazing layout
- great service except the servers are a little dumb when adding up totals sometimes
- great menu
-amazing music
LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Clean rooms and friendly staff. Great location and rooftop bar.
Friendly front desk staff. Nice and clean rooms with beautiful views of the city. Great food as well.
Beautiful rooms in the heart of Chicago. Lovely place to visit.
Wonderful accommodations. Friendly staff. The complementary cookies were outstanding!
Location was perfect! Room was well kept and clean and the staff were super friendly.
I ve been to so many hotels, but never had experience such a bad attitude from the front desk, very disrespectful. Front desk sucks never will come here again
A fun little place to head a bite to eat or some drinks.
Location is ideal for shopping, entertainment, and sight seeing.
Amazing place to stay to enjoy the heart of Chicago! Service will blow your mind
Great place to stay! Close to everything we needed. And the L is right there to get you around town or to and from the airport. Staff was incredibly helpful with directions or recommendations. Room was clean and the view down State was wonderful. Definitely would stay again. The ROOF rooftop lounge on top of the hotel always drew a crowd of well dressed people to the hotel. And a few Lamborghini s and Ferrari s parked out front was fun to see on Saturday. We didn t use room service or eat/drink at the bar so we can t comment to those.
Great hotel! I appreciate the efficiency at check in. Rooms were nice and the location worked great to catch dinner and a show.
Haven't yet had the pleasure of staying at the hotel but have come here for meetings and events and had a great time!
The hotel itself was very clean and MOST of the staff in the hotel were friendly. I had called the hotel to book it directly and was told they would honor the online Expedia price of 242 per night. Upon check in our room was not ready and we were told we would get a text when it was ready. We did not receive a text confirming it was ready. Upon checkout they charged the full price rate of 292 per night. The couple we were with booked online and received the discounted rate of 242. We checked in together and checked out together. They received confirmation text and discounted rate.....we did not. When I asked the clerk to double check the rate with a manager she called and manager who would not honor price....said we would of needed to fill out a form online within 24 hours of booking the room. No one told me this when I booked the room. We also had a very unfriendly waitress in the hotel bar on the day we arrived. We went back that evening and the waiter made up for it as he was friendly and knowledgeable. The valley staff was also very friendly.....not impressed with check in and checkout staff though.
Stayed here for 1 night after traveling from Scotland to visit family. What an amazing hotel. The service and room was amazing and the roof top bar was totally brilliant. All reasonably priced as well. Will definitely return
