I have been involved with TWS for many years now, and I have never experienced such dedication and absolute love for what these outstanding people do each and everyday. This job that they have taken on is 365 / 24. They do so much for the animals who have to trust us to do the right thing for them. My husband and I have grown very found of Tammy and all the staff at TWS and are very proud of all for the selfless time and effort they put into running this amazing place these animals call home. It really is a Sanctuary for the cats of all sizes. I really cannot say enough wonderful things about TWS!

I was wondering why this organization didn't have 5 stars. Then I saw the 1 star review and, of course, it is just full of ignorance. They don't have hands on experience with the animals aside from medical care. They don't condone people keeping them at home and/or in cages where they don't receive the proper care and space they need, or lack of human interaction. They feed them in feeding spaces, where they do leave the food for them. I believe they also use special tools to feed them without in turn becoming part of their meal. It may not be completely natural, but it's probably the closest they can get. They don't touch the animals (again, aside from necessary medical reasons). Many of their big cats are rescues that would be unfit to be released into the wild because they didn't grow up and live in it. Letting them go would just end up in their deaths more than likely. That's how it is for pretty much any animal. Unfortunately, big cats and other exotic animals are better off in captivity with organizations like Wildcat Sanctuary because of poaching, hunting and other cruel practices.
Wildcat Sanctuary, keep doing what you're doing! I fully support you guys!

I've been on two volunteer work weekends and have attended several fundraisers for TWS. I am incredibly amazed and proud that we have this kind of gem in our state! What a labor of love, care, dedication and duty to promoting animal welfare! The nutrition, habitat, medical care, temperament and history of EVERY cat is known and documented so that they receive optimal care and comfort. These folks and Tammy their fearless leader are saints on earth. The long days of labor and volunteer help I've been privileged to donate have been incredible. Lucky us and lucky cats...Three cheers for The Wildcat Sanctuary and their mission!

The Wildcat Sanctuary is one of my favorite organizations. TWS provides a caring, safe, peaceful sanctuary for big cats who have been exploited and abused. It is not open to the public, which preserves the dignity and safety of the cats. The founder, Tammy Thies, is an incredible leader and role model. TWS also helps educate the community on the captive wildlife crisis. I am proud to support TWS both as a volunteer and donor. I just can't say enough good things about this place!

Updated review. Sponsoring 4 cats now. Closed to the public, but they are a great facility. Having indoor and outdoors spaces for the cats. Keeping them warm in the winter. They go beyond for each cat keeping them busy and healthy. What a beautiful place run by wonderful people. Check out the Facebook page it's full of great stuff if you're a fan of big cats.

ANIMAL SANCTUARIES EXIST FOR MANY REASONS...TO BELIEVE THAT SANCTUARIES ARE IN BUSINESS OF PROMISING TO TAKE IN AND CARE FOR ANIMALS THAT HAVE BEEN ABUSED, NEGLECTED OR ABANDONED AND KEEP THEM FOR LIFE..FEDERAL LAW REGULATES THE ONES THAT MUCH LIKE ZOOS, EXHIBIT ANIMALS TO THE PUBLIC...THOSE ARE INSPECTED AT LEAST YEARLY FOR COMPLIANCE WITH THE ANIMAL WELFARE ACT....THIS PLACE IS NOT OPEN FOR PUBLIC VIEW....

I have been a volunteer and donor for the past 15 yrs. The wonderful staff and animal care givers make this an enjoyable place to be a part of. Founder Tammy Theis is a highly respected by donors, staff, volunteers and other animal rescue organizations just to name a few. It is a pleasure to be a part of such a wonderful organization. Every dollar spent is well worth it.
