Energetic and innovative artistry across the mediums of sculpture, choreography, music, cinematography and illustration. Artwork exhibited in former barn for livestock, which is refreshingly authentic to the surrounding rural area. Lovely views of the hamlet from Maxon Mill's topmost chamber. Some may find the Project's political messaging objectionable.

Inspiring place for art in an old mill with many festivals and events that provides a heart to the upstate good life. The art nest is our favourite family weekend activity followed by pizza at the lantern. The staff are amazing and even allowed us to celebrate our little ones birthday party in the art nest. Thank you!!!

What a fantastic surprise this was! A unique space filled with top quality work from artists in residence. Too easy to sail right on by, but don't - stop in and be very pleasantly surprised!

Absolutely loved it. Went on the 27th for the Haunted Mill, I'd say it's gotten even better since last year. Crafts were wonderful, Staff was very nice, The decorations were absolutely wonderful. Definitely worth the ride up there! I'll definitely be visiting again next year! (If everything permits)

The Wassaic Project is one of the most creative and unique opportunities to engage with emerging artists that I've experienced. Maxon Mills (the heart of the Wassaic Project) is a 6-floor grain mill once abandoned but now transformed into a curated gallery space, combined with a hands-on creative space for kids to freely make art, and studios for the artist residency program. In addition to excellent curation, the Wassaic Project openly provides numerous ways to engage with the growing arts community and the town itself throughout the year. It's the kind of magical place you want to tell everyone about, but also keep a complete secret for fear that it will become overrun with tourists.

We stumbled across this art space when we were randomly driving through the village of Wassaic. What a great idea to convert an old grain elevator into an exhibition space. The multiple floors make for a fun experience of checking out the artwork. My only complaint is that we live in the area and had no idea it existed. They should advertise in NYC, just like Dia in Beacon.
