I often bring out of town people here to sit, relax, have coffee, and talk. The booths are big enough to fit 4 comfortably and it's not too loud. Their chocolate cake is huge and enough to feed 4.

Great place for comfort food at a reasonable price. Staff is always friendly and helpful. It's the best place for cheese fries, hands down. It's right in the middle of VCU campus, so it does attract a lot of students. The atmosphere is fun and lively.

I liked it better when it was the old Village..of course it looks better and it's much bigger but has lost its "character"..also the waitress was super slow bringing drinks and hip hop music was pretty much blaring the entire time. No plans of going back!

There is not one thing on the menu I haven't tried and nothing ever disappointed me. I used to go here twice a week when I was studying at VCU and I just loved the food and the ambience over here.

This has to be my favorite local place to eat. All the food I've tried there has been A+ and very affordable for the amount of food you get. Great size portions, everyone is very kind, and fun environment. It can get a bit loud at times so be weary of that. But otherwise, it's a must try!

I had the tuna melt and it was awesome. The wait staff was friendly and the atmosphere was homelike. I loved it. It's diners drive-ins and dives, people.... Not diners drive-ins and five star restaurants. Great job, guys!

What a fun place near VCU campus. We were looking for something quick, and we found it. We lucked out on finding parking on the street (which was only $1.25 for an hour) and sat ourselves inside. The seats could stand to be reupholstered and it's a tight space, but it wasn't a bother. Our waiter was very nice, and we ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich and a grilled chicken sandwich called "The Joshua." I especially liked my grilled chicken sandwich! Once we were done they got us paid up quickly, which was awesome because we had a lot to do that day. We were there for about a half hour tops! Efficient and yummy.

This place has a good variety of comfort type foods. Pizza, burgers, breakfast, sandwiches, etc. The price is great, the service has been great every time. The food has always been great too. When you're not sure of where to eat, come here. They have a lot of options and a good curation of craft beer.

Great small bar/restaurant in a busy college town. Lots of home style food. Reasonably priced. My side of broccoli was more than I could eat. Open-faced turkey sandwich was good but a little over seasoned for me. Good service. Super sized menu for such a small place.

i just got back from picking up my food. Extremely disappointed. Will not ever order carry out here again. it's a 3 minutes drive to my house, yet when i got home i had a french onion soup that had the lid melt/flake plastic pieces into my soup, (which they placed 2 unstable cups of soup into a bag..... I tried the mozzarella balls which were not hot, but nuke warm with rubbery cheese in a room temperature fried shell they were disgusting. Not as i remember when i ate at the restaurant. seriouslly the only reason i can see it wouldn't be hot is that it took the bartender 10-15 minutes to finally get to me as he had 3 drinks to make.....

Wonderful tasting food, great prices. Prime location, bar nd sports. Ordered buffalo chicken sandwich, it s really yummy. Quesadillas are perfect, one of the best tasting for sure. Decent Customer service. But beware if u try to visit during lunch time, its gonna be real busy.

This is a VCU staple. The food is good and its reasonably priced. They display local artwork inside. The seats are old, but comfy. The people are nice, and they have really cool glasses for your drinks.

Village cafe is the perfect Saturday morning greasy spoon eatery that college kids crave. The portions are huge but the price is reasonable. Service is fantastic! Both attentive and accommodating. Would totally recommend if you are less into gourmet food pairings and more into eating pancakes as big as your face.

Excellent service. The place was packed and the wait to be seated ran about 15/20 minutes. Once my party was seated, i ordered Fish and Chips. My ordered came fairly quick, considering The amount of patrons that were present. The cod was moist, piping hot and the fries were crisp, hot and flavorful. The Arnold Palmer (tea/lemonade mix) drink wasn't shabby either.

God tier place right down from the VCU library.

God tier place right down from the VCU library.

I go in. I order some corned beef hash for about 3.50. I get served an ENTIRE PLATE OF HASH.

I order a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich. Comes with hash browns.

They give me a sandwich that TAKES UP MOST OF THE PLATE, and the hash browns are quartered potatoes, sauteed with onions.

This place has some of the best portion sizes I have ever seen. If you dont have a problem with 5-9 dollar foods (almost everything falls in that range), then definitely check this place out.

Just dont order any of the pasta related foods unless you are prepared to take home leftovers.

Place says they are open till 2am but you cant order food after 11pm. So, what do they sell from 11-2? We were very rushed. Toast was burnt, they must have run out of hashbrowns because we got half hashbrowns and half french fries... smh...

Some good comfort diner food. Service is great. The fried chicken is terrible. They tout their milkshakes but I'd go to the galaxy if that's what I wanted. They're infinitely better there. Overall I'd say go to the Village for convenience. Go to the Galaxy on Cary if you have the time and you're graving a diner menu.

Definite richmond vibe. Food is fresh. The fried cheese was delicious. I had the chicken quesadilla. It wasn't unique, but well made. And of course the milkshakes were bomb! The only thing we wouldn't recommend is the meatball sub. My husband got it and said it was bland and unimpressive.
