The Village Cafe Review

One of my all-time favorites local RVA restaurants! Great place to take the family and the milkshakes are to die for!

First things first, we had THE nicest waiter! He was very pleasant and extremely (but not overly) attentive. On top of all that the food was delicious. My gf got the fried provolone sandwich and I hit the chicken salad with rings. Both sandwiches were amazing. I don't think I could handle an entire cheese sandwich myself, but it was good. The rings were very unique and I'd definitely recommend them. A+

The food isn't impressive, considering the price too. They ran out of one of the specials, which was still on the board. Service is slow

Everytime I come here the food is good. It's a nice bar setting. Just the right place to watch a game get a drink or two. Lol

The best shakes... Ever... Really... Food is good diner food with a selection for the hipster... Good vegan and vegetarian options. But the shakes!

A group and I got appetizers to share, the cheese fries were alright, nothing special. The onion rings, potatoe skins, and honey bbq chicken wings were fantastic. Everything was hot when it came out, and they gave us plenty ranch to dip everything in. Plenty of beers on draft, and the cocktail names are really clever. Service was good, and the pitcher glasses are cute. The caramel milkshake was pretty tasty, but I had no desire to finish all of it.

We love getting brunch here. Tom is a great server as is the rest of the staff. Right in the heart of VCU. Go Rams!!

My favorite part of the place were the cups. They serve your drink in a small pitcher which you drink out of. I had tea, but they will put two beer draft pints in a pitcher for you to drink from if you request it. The server was good. She refilled our drinks without being prompted. I had the Turkey melt which tasted really good. The place is bigger then it looks like from the outside.

Sometimes is all about making memories and enjoying life in the moment. My kids and their friends thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Especially when their, what I like to call "manly mugs" came out. You couldn't tell them nothing. The serving size is always big and you are guaranteed to get more for your buck. The seating is a little tight so I would call ahead and ask if they have room for a large party. I've never gone pass the front seating area so I cant vouch for them as far as a conference room goes but it was 6 of us and they were able to accommodate. Even with minimum table space, you will enjoy your food. The waiters and waitresses are polite and attentive.

Ok spot for delicious American food. Went there on a Saturday. Fast, efficient, and courteous service. The place has a cool feel to it. Menu is similar to a restaurant in El Paso I loved.

After living in Richmond for 5 years I've finally discovered this place and frankly I'm kicking myself for not finding it sooner. The food was incredible and the milkshake was divine. (Actual ground coffee beans in my milkshake?!) I'll certainly be back.

Went here to chase flavortown, was not dissapointed at all. Great selection of food and beers.

Great diner just off VCU campus. Great food, lots of it and very reasonably priced.

The village holds a place deep in the heart of every VCU alumni. The menu is huge and varied so everyone will find something they like, and their pancakes are pretty good.

Really good cheese fries but definitely overpriced on some things, especially drinks. During dinner or VCU games the place can get super packed but they have a lot of booths and the service is consistently decent, also food comes out pretty quick. Milkshakes are giant. A reliable and corny option if you're tryna get a meal around VCU.

Chill eating spot. Just walk in and find a table. Really like the veggie burrito and potatoe skins.

A nice affordable place for any meal. Breakfast served all day. My only complaint is that sometimes my order isn't exactly right, like getting fries when I ordered coleslaw with my sandwich. Most of the food is on the greasier side, personally I like that. A nice classic diner atmosphere.

Sam was my waitress if memory serves. She was great for conversation and suggested a good, healthy breakfast for me. I left her a great book to thank her for her service. I hope I didn't get her name wrong, she went to JMU and I'd hate to let down a fellow Duke!

This place has existed well over 50 years and serves the Fan and VCU.

Awesome service and classic good breakfast food. Menu for meals other than breakfast looked excellent.

Great spot and food taste great can get crowded especially at peak times. Prices are great and right along the vcu campus.

Very cute little cafe!!!! I was kinda unsure of this little place but was fooled for sure! After looking at the menu and receiving our pitchers of tea (how cool is that u drink out of a pitcher) I asked the waitress what she recommended and man let me tell u the burgers are made to order and so good! The crisp bun and huge burger were great! The onion rings were so good and huge they were crispy and beer battered! Very good little place!

It was awesome. I wish I would've taken pictures but it was lovely. Had mac n cheese nachos bbq wings cheese fries pizza fries allat but I had water lemonade tea. They got milkshakes all TYPES!

When you want breakfast anytime or a great milkshake this is the place. Good food.

Great for a quick and inexpensive meal. They have a very diverse menu and the servers are friendly.

The fish and chips were just the right degree of crunchiness, and the cole slaw was great!

Starting going in the 70's and love the memories from this place. Highly recommend that you check it out.

Everything was fresh and so good. We had the Chicken stir fry, Chicken bacon sandwich and the fried Cod sandwich OMG
