On Saturday 02 February my partner and I, and her two daughters stayed at the Victory Services Club. We were in London to celebrate a special occasion. I booked a Superior Double en-suite and a Superior Twin en-suite on line. On completion of my stay I competed a comments card containing several negative points and left my e-mail address, but was disappointed to receive no feed-back from the hotel. My experience follows.
When booking the rooms on line I found it difficult to book our small party in as a group so we appeared to be two separate parties. When we arrived at the Victory Services Club our room was allocated on the second floor while the girls were given one on the fourth floor. This was not a major issue but it would have been ideal to have the rooms closer together. We travelled along a long corridor where the carpet appeared to be water stained for most of its length. Our room, 260, and en-suite bathroom were scrupulously clean but the bedroom had ceiling high small windows that looked directly to a fire escape door and brick walls. We both found the outlook very disappointing more in keeping with a budget "no frills" room.
Later when we were preparing to shower before going out we noticed that the room was very cold. We tried without success to raise the temperature so I eventually tried to contact reception. I telephoned reception several times but nobody answered. My partner also telephoned housekeeping and left a message on the answer phone. Eventually I went down to the foyer where there were two members of staff behind the desk. After one of them checked her consol she told me that the heating was switched off: and swiched it on. As it was close to our restaurant booking time, but the room was still very cold, my partner decided that she would have to go out without showering. This got the evening off to a poor start.
When we arrived back at the VSC we went to the lounge where I ordered some cocktails. The bar person was very apologetic, but said that they did not prepare cocktails, although she agreed that they were on the bar drinks menu.
The breakfast on the Sunday morning was very good and the staff on the front door extremely helpful in every way.
As this was our first visit to the Victory Services Club I was hoping that it would be an important part of our celebration. Unfortunately it fell short.

Good value, convenient location, pleasant bar. Generally older guest profile than the Union Jack Club.
Excellent breakfast, full English at its best!
Limited number of en suit rooms, so book early if that is important to you

Service men and women certainly deserve a place like this. Only serving or ex serving are members. The new restaurant is superb, perfect for shopping, staff great and discounted parking, what more!! Best place in town. Love it. Well done VSC.

Fantasy customer services from the establishment nothing is too much trouble, rooms are very nice, food is a very high standard at a very reasonable price to say your in London, fantastic location, looking forward to visiting again this year, the only thing I could fault was not being able to open the windows for fresh air as the fans from the kitchen sent the smell of food in to the room, apart from that fantastic place to stay.

Stayed with the VSC for the first time in about 5 years and yet again had a great stay, staff were very friendly and could not do enough to help. The room was clean and comfortable and breakfast in the morning was lovely. For the price I can not complain about any part of the stay.

Victory Services Club is very nice internally and we used to go for lunch there with my Father-in-law who was ex RAF and the service is great.
Apparently there is also hotel accommodation which is very good in the centre of London at not bad prices.
They have really tried to commercialise this which is great and bring it up to date.
Good to see it is generally busy there and people enjoy visiting and staying there.
Nice place in the heart of London.

Carvery cold if you're put near the door on a cold day. Despite empty tables, head waiter would not move us from the gale. The Carvery chefs were all lovely, smiling and helpful and the food was good with at least 4 choices per course.

The place to stay in London if you are a serving member or ex-serving member. I love this place and have stayed here five times over as many years! The location is so convenient to get to so many iconic places in London...I loved that it was so close to Hyde Park.
The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The restaurant and bar are fantastic and the food is really enjoyable.
But the stand out is the service by the staff. From the moment you enter you are made to feel welcomed and this is maintained until the sad moment you leave to go home...the staff are just fantastic.
Seriously the only place I will stay in London from now on!

This could be the one of well reserved spots in London where brings a legacy of all service men & women in the world. You feel like you are a part of family when you step into this place. In fact, there is Sir Churchill welcome your visit. His words are profound and signify the greatness of serving our nations whether that is UK, USA or anywhere else. Yes, this is a pride of England, Royal Navy, Army, Air Force, etc and all of forces in other parts of the world. I am honored to be staying in this place.

With that s been said, they welcome you in the best way possible. The food in the restaurant is amazing. I believe they have an excellent chef and no, you don t pay a high ticket price. Afternoon tea is great and priced very reasonable. Having a wine at the lounge is my must do thing while I stay. And talking about location? It s so close to Marble Arch and Hyde Park. What else do you expect?

After attending the RAH Royal Marines Mountbatten Music Festival (Friday 15/3) we were invited by some ex colleagues to attend the Victory Services Club for a catch up the following day and a coffee.
We managed to get as far as the reception to be met by a Mr Tony Travis. Upon explaining that I was not a member I showed proof of identity with my Police / UJC and Defense Discount Card.
How utterly rude and unprofessional can staff members be; Mr Travis stated that without a membership I was not allowed entry.
Despite explaining that we were meeting for a coffee he was curt rude and completely unhelpful and refused us entry to have a coffee with friends and ex Royal Marine veterans who were staying at the club for that weekend.
We left feeling that my service history was of no value and insulted. I informed Mr Travis that his manner and attitude was not a good advertisement for a Military Club and towards veterans is general.
Absolutely APPALLING

Excellent. One caveat arrived back 2330 and asked night staff if possible to obtain a drink and was told " the bar is closed " an option would have been welcome. Food drink service and staff superb

Horrible food it's gone worse after been refurbished. Have told to management many times but nothing seams to be working. Very bad Sunday dinner service, roast potatoes were burnt, carrots were unrecognisable. I'm all very bad food. One more thing I have in the club many many times but food is not good at all. So avoid the dinner in the dinning room.

Conveniently located, near Marble Arch close to regular bus service to restaurants, theatres & shops. Close to a large M&S & Primark. Comfortable bedrooms with TV, tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer & ironing board. Helpful, efficient service in the reception area.

VCS offered me excellent customer service as a United States military service member visiting London. Upon presenting paperwork showing a recent deployment they gave me a discounted rate. It was very quiet as well, nice breakfast options, and a clean room. Also in a fantastic, central location. Highly recommend to anyone in the military going to London!

Stayed there early May this year. Everything was perfect. Nice clean comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast. Great restaurant. Great beer, wine etc. Fabulous location, close to everything. All staff were excellent. Very difficult to find any fault with this club. Absolutely terrific few days there. Highly recommend.

Just amazing !! Stories from WWII float in the air, as totally present and superb service and facilities concur for the "best kept military secret" making you enjoy a great stay in London. Just footsteps from Marble Arch yet suddenly quiet and peaceful to rest after long exploration (or Shopping) walks. Please... Just in case: keep one room for me. Don't miss it !!

These reviews that praise the staff puzzle me no end. The staff are rude, and spectacularly unhelpful. Being married to a thirty-one year veteran of the RAN, I expected he would at least get a modicum of respect. In a crowded field, in this busy city, VSC need to up their game. In a big way. Normal hotels costing similar will at least offer a city map, perhaps a few tips, point a tourist in the right direction. Something!

Sure, the rooms are clean. Yes, the location is convenient to transport and the park. But these guys are the absolute worst at hospitality as anyone can possibly be. I m still waiting for the room to be ready, and wishing we d chosen anywhere else. If I could give negative stars, I would. If any single one of these guys standing around acting superior smiled, I would award a real one star. This is our fourth stay in as many years. Same staff. Same Attitude with a capital A . Never. Again.
