This place...a hidden gem of phenomenal customer service, great selection and quality, perfect portions and fast delivery. I was in town with my husband and kids for an event at the museum last Saturday and stumbled into this place when all the eateries in the area were packed and the kids were starving. What a lucky find. The man who helped us was so refreshingly friendly and upbeat. Ordering from him made my day.

I went here for the first time and wow, they are super nice and treat right away if you have been coming here for years. The food is delicious as well, definitely recommended coming here.

Great place to have a sandwich and to just relax. Its quiet and peaceful. Great place to take a breather during lunch.

Awful. Egg salad was tasteless, warm, and gooey. Sourdough was dry as dust. Lettuce was wilted. My husband ordered a turkey on wheat which fell apart as he ate it. And he used both hands. Potato salad was decent. Pasta salad was cooked rotini & salad dressing. Nothing else. For the price, they seem to do the bare minimum, if not lower. Very disappointed.

We were in town for an event at the convention center and we in need of a quick bite to eat and stumbled upon this location and I must say, their Pastrami Sandwich is out of this world. Next time I ll be ordering 2.

The wait was ridiculous, but the woman at the counter is so pleasant, and all our kids loved the food!

I ordered Grill Cheese sandwich and was very disappointed. They used Kraft Cheese on a small piece of bread. When it was served I noticed the cheese was not even melted. I asked if they can melt it some more. They smashed the bread to speed up the process so when I got it my sandwich was flat. I don't plan on going back. It even tasted horrible.

Great sandwhiches, reasonably priced, quick service even during the busy downtown lunch rush. Best of all is the friendly, courteous proprietor.

Best service, and food I've had in a while. I strongly recommend it if you're in the area.

Staff is always nice even when they have a full house. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. This place has a nice feel to it. Menu is like a cafe in Indianapolis I loved.

So good!!! Super friendly service! And the food was absolutely amazing! I got a turkey avocado on squaw bread (btw 1st time trying squaw bread) it was super delicious, also had a side of potato salad which was also extremely good! Will definitely be coming back here!

Come for the delicious sandwiches and get some cookies for dessert! Best cookies downtown.

Quaint sandwich shop near the Mission Inn in downtown Riverside. Fresh deli-style sandwiches, salads, and other fare. A bit pricey but the food is very good.

The owner Cary is awesome not only did we receive the best customer service from him but he greeted my wife and I like we we re family. This is our very first visit to this deli and as far as I m concerned the only deli you should ever eat at. I had the pastrami sandwich and it was absolutely the best I have ever had (and I consider myself a pastrami sandwich expert ). So remember if you want the best deli sandwich around go to The Upper Crust in downtown Riverside! You won t regret it!!!!!!!

Let me just tell you that this place is amazing. Not only is everything so delicious but the customer service and love is 2nd to none. If you haven t found a this gym yet, do yourself a favor and get here. Love the owners, staff, and atmosphere.

Spent a day in Riverside on business and loved the suggestion for this sandwich shop. The attendants were super helpful and their suggestions were spot on. I had a pastrami on rye with traditional accoutrements and the homemade coleslaw. My partner had the veggie sandwich and enjoyed it as well. Fair priced and ample patio seating. Would definitely be back if I'm in Riverside.

Ingredients are ridiculously fresh, the customer service makes you feel like family, the sandwiches are a little pricey and the portion probably what a healthy person should eat but you won't regret it

Absolutely fantastic service from Ritha, I believe her name was and I also think she said was the owner. We had never been here before and she patiently walked us through everything and was so helpful and sweet. All the sides are phenomenal cannot go wrong with any of it. My boyfriend got the turkey and ham which was delicious, and I got what she recommended which was the chicken salad on squaw bread and it was to die for! Will absolutely be making regular trips back here from now on!

My favorite sandwich place in Riverside. The owners are very kind and the food is delish. This last visit I had a Hawaiian and it was so fresh and revitalizing. Whenever I'm feeling the urge for a lunch in Downtown Riverside The Upper Crust calls my name. My whole name, kinda whispers it actually.

Since I've been taking classes at FSF, I've been to this place many times.
Oik Yak salad with tri tip is my go to dish, no fried noodles, dressing on the side. It's a little pricey with the extra Tripp, but worth it I think. It's good for my low-crab diet.They're usually fast with my food. Yum, I think I'm having this for dinner tonight.

The food is great! Just a heads up, don't bother ordering just one side. Always order half and half bc they charge you the same and the portions of ordering just one is the same as the half.

I don't know where to start. This place right off the back gets 5 stars. All the workers were nice and attentive. The shop was welcoming and clean. The owner Cary was so nice. All the workers had smiles on there face. I will be back GUARANTEE. Now let's get into the pastries the cookies and brownies were super good and soft 10 OUT OF 10. Last but not least the Cheesecake OMG!!!! 10 OUT OF 10 as well. This place is a must try if your in Riverside. I'm going back for there sandwiches.... Thanks Cary & Staff

Such a great place! Loved the food. Chicken salad is a MUST!! The owner is super friendly. My wife and I were happy to have had this place so close to the Hyatt.

Upper crust is good for a quick lunch. You can get a lunch combo with half of a sandwich and a soup for $8.75. Free refills on drinks. Shared bathroom that you have to get a key for. Limited seating. Owner is very friendly. They also have fresh-baked desserts.

I had the pastrami sandwich at the owners recommendation. It was fantastic! One of the best I've ever had. After lunch I had a brownie and a cookie. Both were great. It's obvious that the owner prides herself on quality food.

I had never come to this place before, I had a meeting with my fellow del taco members, the owner was so amazing and just super nice !!! I can say I'll be coming here more often, the broccoli cheddar soup is AMAZING !!! I definitely would give them 10 stars or more because they deserve it !

A little pricey, with a sandwich and tiny side costing $11.42. I suggest bringing a coupon for a bogo, much more worth the cost. Ingredients are fresh.

I had a pastrami on rye and don't regret it! It was delicious, and I love how genuine the owner is. He's friendly to each and every customer! The only thing I didn't love is that it took about 15 minutes to get my sammy, but it was a very busy day.

Delicious! After my disappointment at Butche's, I sought out something better and boy did Upper Crust nail it! The owner Wretha was very welcoming and the way she interacted with the young student customers was refreshing. A big fan of Pastrami, I ordered theirs along with the poblano chowder and it all was very delicious. The ingredients tasted fresh, the cheese was melted perfectly on top of the meat and every bite had me looking forward to the next. With a cozy outside patio area, all five senses are addressed and pleased. I look forward to coming back in the future, thank you and keep up the good work!

My sister and I had lunch here this past week. The entire staff were welcoming and very accommodating. We shared a sandwich which was wonderful and the Indian bread was fantastic; you even got a side dish at no extra cost. We had a nice conversation with the owner which was a extra benefit.

Yum! Had the egg salad sandwich on squaw and a side of poblano soup. So tasty, fresh, and satisfying. Friendly and quick service. Comfortable sitting area for lunching all fresco and fair prices. What more could you ask for?

How horrhorr. I go here all the time and a friend shares this with me. Employees joking around about messing with customers food. That's awful to learn after all the business I brought them.

Phenomenal service and sandwiches! We were popping in from out of town, not knowing they were closing, and we received the friendliness service. The sandwiches were delicious, with fresh cut tomatoes and crisp iceberg lettuce. We didn t feel rushed and the woman behind the counter even checked with us before locking up, cordially wrapping up my daughter s sandwich (that she didn t eat ) without reservation. Also, 12 bucks for a small sandwich and drink is too much in my opinion when there are so many other good sandwich options around for lunch. It was worth about 6 bucks to me. I love the friendly service, but I can't afford 12 dollar small sandwiches for lunch unfortunately.

Terrible food. Ordered Italian sub. Bread was like 3 day old grocery store reject. Next to no meat and wilted greens. Mac salad was grocery store item. Dont waste your time or money.

Now that I've "found" this superlative sandwich shop, I will go again and take friends (and STRANGERS!) with me. The pastrami on rye was excellent, the macaroni salad was better with 3 packets of pepper, the potato salad was like BEST EVER! Friendly service. MUST GO AGAIN SOON, EVEN IF BY MYSELF!!

This little sandwich shop is huge on taste and excellent service. The breads were homemade and the fruit was fresh. The service was quick with a generous amount of hospitality to make you feel at home. When we are back in Riverside, we will be back here for lunch!

We stumbled into this place and decided to have sandwiches for lunch. The owner took our orders and was very friendly. He suggested the half a sandwich and soup special. Both the sandwich and soup, (my husband had salad) were fresh and delicious. I can't remember the name of the soup, but it was so delicious, I almost went for a second helping. The portions in my opinion maybe on the small size, but they are delicious that you don't mind as much. We will be coming back soon!

This is a great gem! The owner is so friendly and the place offers GREAT food at fair prices. The sandwich I got was delicious. The soup was great as well. They offer a wide variety of breads, including gluten free and freshly baked. They also offer vegetarian options, which I got, and it was fresh.

As a bonus today they were serving ablondigas soup. Both were delicious...and made getting off the 91 freeway and dealing with metered parking worth every last bite!

Their cookies (especially the lemon cookie) and their out of this world shouldn't be so delicious brownies are a few of my favorite things in this world. Their sandwiches are fresh and great. I can't praise this local shop enough.
