The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium Review

Nice big Zoo clean that.. we went of an evening and a lot of the animals were resting inside

There was a decent amount of construction taking place but we still loved it and had a great time! We are looking forward to coming back next year to see all of the improvements made! We loved the easily viewing of the animals for our son in his stroller! Also recommend good walking shoes as there is quite a bit of walking with the zoo being in two parts!

Always an amazing experience. Their lights before christmas is absolutely breathtaking and a great way to spend an evening with your kids!

We went to the Noon Year's Eve event with the babies which they had lots of fun dancing to the music and plenty to do for them. Even an ice carved explaining his process.

The zoo is pretty cool, but I was actually across the street fishing

This zoo is great. The animals are awesome. The different events like the Zoo To Do and Lights Before Christmas are super fun. There is definitely something for everyone.

I went to the Toledo Zoo Amphitheater for a concert and it was a beautiful setting! Not a bad seat in the whole place!

We drive right past the Detroit zoo to get here. A lot of more animals and a much better setup.

The aquarium is great. Loved this zoo since I was a little kid.

It is such a beautiful zoo! My favorite part is many of the buildings are older in style but still have great exhibits to see. Reptile house, Aviary, Aquarium and a variety of animals to see!

It was a great family experience. To watch all the families being together. The kids having fun. Couldn't do anything but smile.

Nice zoo, clean paths and good views of the animals. Not much shade to help you stay cool.

We went here while visiting family. I was impressed by the overall cleanliness! The staff was polite. Some of their animals were rescues that can't be safely released back into the wild. Some were not. I was least impressed with the polar bear habitat. Seemed a little clustered and maybe too much direct sunlight. The polar bear paced back and forth so many times that it just seemed off. Hopefully I'm wrong.
It really was a great place to visit though, and I would go back again. Love the handimals activity. My son's hand was transformed into a tiger and mine into a giraffe. Such a sweet way to remember the trip!

When we lived in Maumee, this was our home away from home for my son and I.

Super fun, very spread out, has every animal you could possibly want to see! Very clean 10/10 recommend.

Nice place but way too expensive with so many extra costs when you enter. Its not average family friendly because of the cists.

Great zoo! Lots to see and do.. especially for young children. My grandson had so much fun!!

Zoo lights was fun for the kids and adults. It gets pretty crazy around 5.00 - 5.30 p.m. Get there a little before that and it wasn't too bad getting in.

Disappointing. Most of habitats were closed. Didnt see hardly any animals. Drove from Michigan and it was a waste of time and money

Unlike Detroit zoo, you can actually find animals and you will not have to look too far, they will be somewhat close to you, so your little one can find them and identify them easily. Polar bears are lovely, there is a sloth, a koala bear who is always sleeping. Birds are beautiful. Alligator is scary and HUGE. Overall it s a great place to visit

Closer walking in between sites unlike most other zoos I know of

My family loves zoos. We've been to almost every zoo within 4 hours of our home (Wadsworth). This may be our new favorite.

Great zoo, not crowded and a good variety to look at.

Holiday Lights was very nice. Don't expect to see many animals though.

We absolutely love the Toledo Zoo & Aquarium. There are SO many things to do and see; a HUGE selection of animals and gorgeous plants to observe and learn about. An extremely stroller-friendly zoo with exhibits friendly to stroller-riders (they have lots of low viewing options available for those riding in strollers). One of the true GEMS in the Toledo area! Don't miss the lights at Christmas! :)

I hadn't been to the zoo since childhood. Not what I remember and many of the animals were not seen. I missed having my grandson ride on a giant turtle like I used to do. It was clean and what we did see was enjoyable. I would go again.

Lots to see. Lots to do. Make a day out of it. Just don't go on Mondays.....ITS. CRAZY. BUSY!

Toledo Zoo offers plenty of options for an exciting family fun day. Plenty of clean washrooms throughout the zoo property. Friendly staff was encountered the entire day. Splash pad offers a small amount of "cool" down time to recharge. Map was a little difficult to navigate as were the signs within the park. Overall this was a great experience for our first trip here.

Love everything about this Zoo. So much better than the Detroit Zoo.

We came with the school for a class trip. The animals seem will cared for and happy. The habitats are large compared to a lot of zoos I've visited. There are great activities for children.

This is our first year purchasing a membership and I feel strongly that we got the most out of it. It alleviates the financial strain of going to the zoo multiple times in a year and fairly quickly paid for itself. However if it were to be even better yet the membership would include some experiences within the zoo - such as feeding the Giraffes at tower ridge or the train ride/carousel. Even if it were only valid on off days or something as we love to participate but because we are members we often don't carry excess cash to participate in these activities and they are a bit difficult to participate in more than once as they are fairly expensive when considering multiple trips. We absolutely love to come on the slow week days in which the animals are almost always out playing and look forward to seeing the lights this fall and winter.

It's just great... They have a wide variety of animals and they're all well maintained. The museum inside is rich in useful informations about various animals there.

The toledo zoo is perfect for kids because the exhibits are closer together. Lots of different animals to see. Multiple eating options inside zoo. Bathrooms were always easy to find. My kiddos loved the aquarium as well which provides hands on stations to touch the fish. Strollers are available for rent for the day and affordable. We drove an hour to get to this zoo and it was well worth it!

New Tropics and Nature Museum (as of May 31st) are big hits.

The zoo has great animals and a decent price for entry to the zoo.

The Toledo Zoo has always been great and the renovations have made it even better

Many of the animals are available to be seen but almost all of the indoor viewing options are closed and most of the rides. The funneled way of traffic causes many back ups due to slower moving patrons. The outdoor viewing areas fill up quite quickly and there is no consideration given to smaller children who may not be able to see through the crowds. Also there are many times where the zoo has roped off a good 3 ft in front in the exhibits which makes it even harder to see into them. The bird feeder advertises that they have like 6 different flavors of dole whip but they only have two.

Went to the Zoo to see an outdoor show, it was a very easy process to get in and the staff was friendly. Sitting in the lower section the chairs are kind of small and close together. The pricing for water and other items were higher than normal but to be expected at an event as such.

My husband and I had so much fun here! We definitely will be coming back. We walked throught the whole zoo in 3-4 hours. The only thing we did not do was go on the safari train and feed the giraffes. We will definitely do that next time we go!

Lots of variety, beautiful aviary, plenty of shade. Grandkids had a blast.

Chinese Lanterns was a good experience. Had been for the lights before Christmas and it's another great winter experience in toledo

Best zoo ever! Toledo zoo has a wide variety of species from all over the globe. They have several successful breeding programs, allowing for expanding numbers of animals. Historic buildings house the aviary, reptiles and the upgraded aquarium. Beautiful grounds and gardens. I love my zoo!

Always a good place to visit. The new aquarium is amazing! It has a touch tank and lots of stingrays. Zoo lights in December are always good. New remodeled Africa exhibit with giraffes you can feed yourself.

The Toledo zoo is a local treasure. This time of year though there are a lot of closed exhibits. It's still a fun trip but if you want to be able to see everything wait until late spring

Our family loves the zoo, we have twin 4 yr olds, they will be 5 in Oct. Our kids have a great time everytime we go, which is about once to twice a month. We get a membership every year, which is also tax deductible. Definitely a must do with the family!

Beautiful zoo. We love going here. The staff are friendly. The lights at Christmas are beautiful also.
