This spot is excellent for drinks OR food. I have some favorites ( steak/ street corn) everything is yummy. It s a great place to start your night since your centrally locates to other bars/ areas.
Great service, staff was fantastic. Good food and large verity of beer.
Great option for brunch! Large assortment of cocktails, including mocktails. The cold brew coffee is excellent. Tip Tap breakfast was solid, the everything bagel with steak tips was incredibly flavorful and filling, but the highlight were the french toast doughnut holes - oh my goodness, those were decadent!
A delicious restaurant featuring farm to table type American food combined with a great craft beer menu, it s perhaps most accurately described as a gastropub. The food is excellent from the appetizers like spicy boar meatballs to the main courses like lamb shanks. The focus is predominantly meat, but there are fish and veggie options too. It s a popular place to hang out at night, but the wait doesn t seem to get too long. The beer list is enormous and not only features several local craft brews, but they also like to feature several brews from local breweries in tap takeovers.
My experience was that this place is overated. 4.2 average on here and recommended in the Boston Lonely Planet guide book however whilst the food was very good (steak tips very tender and burger melt in your mouth) the beer (and drinks in general) seem totally over-priced. I am a lover of craft ale however $15-20 a pint in some cases and $14 for a small glass of wine, no thanks.
Everything was good and tasty and the service was good. Three stars because I didn't think it lived up to its cost/value
Nice contemporary place. Large drink menu and the food was really good. Based on the name they have a large draught list and most of the dinners are "tips" of various meats (and tofu, if you're into that). When we were there it was pretty busy, so kind of loud, but quieted down as people left for after dinner. Drinks and food were a little pricey.
Great ambience, great beers, good location reasonable prices
Just wow! Great food for a good price. My wife can't eat nuts and the manager made her a plate just for her. And we didn't have to pay for it. You all need to eat there once.
Love this place... 30 taps (maybe more) of fantastic beers.... food is top notch.... not cheap but worth it.. no really it is a bargain.
Refused us service bc we weren't eating dinner despite restaurant being mostly empty at the time
I enjoy the atmosphere and the food. Great place to visit.
Good service, nice atmosphere. Food is good, but pricey given it s not all that .
Great drinks, beer selection, and food. Wide open (almost) floor to ceiling windows during nice weather is a great touch and makes it feel like a patio. Wish they had more than 2 bar high tops, though...
Amazing food, amazing cocktails. Unbelievable beer selection with constantly rotating selection.
Wish I knew they were going to put the sauce over the tomatoes before hand, so I could have asked for no tomatoes! Otherwise, food was good, service was quick, and the atmosphere was great!
I was really excited about the menu, only to find everything was pretty mediocre. Had the special braised beef shank and I don't know how braised meat could be so dry. The gnocchi that came with it was hard, I've never had hard gnocchi. Bone marrow was unseasoned with some soggy stale bread. The baked brie had 5 little mushrooms, and a few beers. Salad was good. Drinks were great except for the vinegar one.
Great draft beer selection. The burgers are good and so is the Cesar salad with a pouched egg
Great bar with a good draft list. Small plates looked good too. I liked the garage door bar front to bring the outdoors in.
Yum! Great food, great drinks, and great atmosphere. Definitely would recommend.
Cool atmosphere, phenomenal food, delectable mocktails (and presumably cocktails), great service! This place gets bonus points because the owner and head chef is super approachable and friendly!
Wonderful every time. Love the food and the drinks - Brian Poe does a fantastic job creating a luxe bar atmosphere where everyone knows your name!
Definitely didn't disappoint. Amazing beer selection, interesting drinks, and rare food like boar and kangaroo tips (special). Energetic atmosphere too!
Server and all other staff were phenomenal, food was excellent as was the beer list and recommendations. Found it slightly pricey however, still recommend it without hesitation.
If you like beer and happen to be in Beacon Hills, it's worth it. I counted 36 beers on tap on my visit. Food and service were also great
My boyfriend and I ate here after an event at TD Garden for dinner. The prices were reasonable for dinner ($20-$30 for dinner plates) and there were many options on the menu. There was also a lot of craft beer options as well as wine and cocktails. It was a fun environment with people at the bar and also eating dinner. There was no parking that I could see, but street spots are available and it was a quick walk for us.
Fantastic beer selection. Ranging from sub $5 PBRs up to $20 (and maybe higher) special reserves. Most between $7 & $10 a pint. Beer from all over USA and Europe. It was hard to choose! Food we had (baked brie) was too good and paired well with our drink selections. Server offered suggestions, was knowledgeable and attentive. Will return on our next trip to Boston!
Only came for drinks and loved the selection. We had the nicest waitress - she was really knowledgeable about the beers and gave great recommendations.
Worth the small walk to find an unusual menu. We had the bison and wild boar. Highlight was the baked brie. Very friendly service.
Came here because it was right by our Airbnb. What a treat! A little pricy, but worth it. The chicken tips are to die for. Hoping to go back our last night in Boston!
been here many times the food is always delicious, this place has a nice size bar and TV's all around making excellent to watch sporting events.
casual place to enjoy a good meal and enjoy a nice Drink.
Excellent beers and service. The Brewski was fantastic, and the bar was chill and relaxed.
The beer selection is generally solid. That said their prices are ridiculous. They gouge their customers on pricing for any rarity or higher end beers.
Excellent food, great beer selection, top-notch service. Highly recomm end this place!
Great beers on offer and staff are very friendly and helpful.
By far one of the best peices of steak I have had in a while. I loved how it was covered with peppercorn and it was cooked to perfection. Definitely should go away with the fries on the side and should substitute it with something else. Great selection of beers and everything was priced accordingly. I would absolutely recommend a meal here to anyone that wants good service, great atmosphere and a place to sit back and relax and enjoy a great meal. Kudos to the owner!!!!!
Pretty terrible. Grilled corn off cob has too much raw chili powder dumped on it. Lamb burger missing sauce. Fries not good. Only one alcohol free beer that had no flavor. Waitress was awesome.
Large craft beer selection and artisonal cocktails. Great, moderately priced food, with small plates available.
The food was good nothing great but the service wasn't good and super slow. The hostess told us to wait because they were clearing a table, but there were easily a dozen other tables empty. Why did we have to wait for a specific table? I have no idea. Fine, we decided to wait. However she then proceeded to seat a table of 4 and another couple that came in after us at the open tables, which makes no sense at all. Took us 10 minutes to get seated when there were literally still empty tables around. Our server was nice but she was extremely slow. The restaurant might have been 60% capacity at most and it took her easily 20 minutes to get our order and the same when we asked for the check.
Great atmosphere. Great location. Good menu selection, both food and beer.
Great beer selection. Food is tasty and often interesting with things like wild game. Have only been during lunch but service has been good then.
The best beer selection in boston with creative and unique dishes to match.
Cool place with a really good beer selection. Good for brunch and dinner too
Great beer selection, nice service, interesting food choices as they often have Bison and Ostrich on the menu.
Awesome food and excellent service. Bloody Mary's were perfect.
One of my favorite places to eat. good location, well kept, and excellent customer service. I highly recommend them!
Great tips, and great beers, cocktails and cider. Nothing was a disappointment. I want to go back again and recommend it to anyone.
I was convinced to go there by reviews but found the experience quite ordinary. A restaurant with a very ordinary "look". The choice of beers (reason for our trip) is not that interesting, especially very expensive and VERY few (if not not) local microbreweries. Rather average service, simple cuisine and not bad but quite expensive. Behind us were boilers on the next table because there was rain pouring down from the ceiling. At this price I would have been elsewhere and I do not recommend the place so much. $$$
Very good food, atmosphere and a great variery of local brews, both on draft and bottle, and some belgian beers as well. The staff is very helpfull.
There beer and food is overpriced. The beer is trying too hard to be impressive and instead of offering a $6 Harpoon from down the street they offer a $12 Germany import that my German passport carrying best friend has never heard of. The food is okay, not great and certainly does not justify the price tag.
Reliable drinks, good atmosphere, the menu is a bit boring
Lots of local & unique beer options. Zagat description is right on point with this place. The food smelled absolutely delicious although I did not try anything while I was attending after work drinks.
Good food. Lots of beers on tap / bottled. Brussel sprouts were good. Usually not super crowded. In summer months they open the garage door style windows to the sidewalk
Been here at least a dozen times since moving to the West End and the food and drinks are always great, but the management and staff are the real gems of this establishment. During a recent visit one of the managers came to our table to offer us a discount on our meals after they took a bit too long. We didn't complain or even mention the wait and afterwards when discussing it just figured the restaurant was busy that night. This is not a one time experience and the staff has always treated us right. With that being said they can get busy during the week for dinner. If you're looking to having a conversation while you eat, I would try to get here early.
Great range of beers on tap and some interesting menu options. Personally I found the tip options to be a little too chi-chi, rather than good honest bar food (to go with the decent beers). Update: we have been to tip tap a few times since it opened. Love the concept, but the execution leaves a little to be desired: - acoustics aren't great, gets very noisy when you are eating - twice steak tips have been fatty cuts and over-cooked I think they need to decide whether they want to be a restaurant or a bar and focus. Attempting both is a stretch for them.
This place is awesome. Great location (2 mins from T stop at Bowdoin), amazing selection of Beers / Ales, good food selection, great staff and service. Best Steak Cuts in Boston apparently and they were good indeed.
Fantastic drinks, crazy good beer selection, and tips galore! Really creative, great food (though i don't think they know how to make a proper brioche, it was quite dry. And their "mousse" was just pudding) Staff is very friendly, helpful and understanding (especially of my many questions and even criticisms). Overall, definitely recommend. Yummmmmmy stuff.
Bartender was incredibly rude. Service was very slow. Was given a beer that had a 1 inch head on it and I asked for it to be topped off and had to argue with server over it. Service frankly ruined my experience here.
Awesome food by MGH hospital and wide selection of beer and drinks!
Good food, prompt service, nice atmosphere. Great beer list.
Delicious food in a friendly atmosphere, conveniently located and great service.
Good beer selection. Exotic meats! ( All legal haha). A lil pricey but it's what you have to expect downtown.
Massive range of beers, but the prices are quite steep unless you are a die-hard beer aficionado. The food selection is quite limited, but dome well and similarly highly priced for the area.
Great place with an endless amount of beers on tap!
I was drawn here by the quality of their beerlist and was not disappointed. Probably one of the better beer spots in Boston. The food was great, little pricey but worth it. Very nice atmosphere and cool street views from the bar.
Drinks were great but food was pretty disappointing
they lose one star for not producing a proper whiskey sour
A pretty good selection of beer and food. Good place to stop on the way to the garden or beacon hill.
Great variety of beers from all over the globe! Cool atmosphere in and around Tip Tap Room! Keep going!
Cozy pub atmosphere, open windows in good weather give a warm breeze. Moderately priced food with diverse brunch options.
We had Boar meatballs, Antelope Burger, and salads. It was all fantastic. The meatballs came with a crunchy bread with Maple Rosmary butter that was so good I ate the entire amount and I m in the Keto diet. Then I blew my diet and said heck with it and ate the fries too! Large selection of beers on tap to boot
This place always has one of the best beer lists in the city. Food is amazing, and there are always unusual selections like boar gnocchi or antelope steaks. It's a bit pricey, but in a worth-it kind of way.
