Great place to exercise and catch a beautiful view of the ocean.
Been going here since I was a kid. I love this beach. The waves here break further out so they are pretty mellow by the time they get to shore. Gets busy during the summer, but it's easily accessible and with free parking off Selva and Pacific Coast Highway.
Nice place to stroll the beach at sunset, and the occasional run to do the stairs.
Great beach. There are lots of stairs and then a downhill path to get to the beach. They do have a funicular but it's small and the wait sometimes is long.
"They paved paradise and put up a parking lot." Used to come here when it was full of abandoned buildings. Strands Beach was secluded and a walk to get too. Now it's easy to get to and extremely packed in the summer. Don't know how I feel about that.
Amazing place. Not just the homes, which of course are the most beautiful luxury beach homes in california. also liked the trails, the nature center, the open space, the beach, and the town of dana point.
Beautiful beach, lots of room, ample parking when it's not summer
Plenty of ascending/descending between the beach and the parking lot
The beach is beautiful and the waters are warm surprisingly! It's a bit hidden but that makes it so much better!
Great beach for hanging out, surfing, or bodyboarding. Less crowded than creek.
There's some really nice houses here. I wish I could afford to live here. It's a bit otherworldly.
One of the many beautiful beaches with a fantastic view!
My favorite place to walk along the beach! The loop trail is perfect for a gorgeous view and some great cardio. =)
It was the last destination in my Orange county trip and the end was as beautiful as this place
Not a lot of people. Cool rocks on the shore. Nice hike. People are polite. Love it
One of my fav beaches. Free parking too. Plus they have a tram that takes you down.
I discovered this place by chance. I was looking for a beach where I could take my family and ended up here. Free parking, showers, cable car for disabled or lazy people. Houses around here are amazing but it's private property. I'll come back without any doubt next time I visit California.
Would have been better if they left the homes on Coast Hhwy . 76' Summer of my life .
Beautiful! Very enjoyable for families. Bring your boogie board!
Trekking trails in the park on the hill
The beach is also not crowded.
Great beach between Salt Creek and Dana Point Harbor. Lots of stairs good exercise spot!
Very nice stretch of beach with views of home worth 25 million.
Lovely beach, not crowded but usually has maybe 10 groups of people on it. Setting is great, beach is clean and water is clear.
Great for body boarding and surfing if you're not a pro. Car park is a little bit up the hill at the Salt Creek area but it's a 5 minute walk down to the front.
A really pleasant and not-so-crowded beach to enjoy, although much less so now that all the super high end mansions have cropped up just atop the sand. The beach should be for all of us.
If you have never been to the Dana Point Headlands, there is a lot to see. great beach for swimming. and surfing. and from the trails in the headands above, sometime you can see the whales if you take a pair of binoculars.
Then if you have a spare few million, you can buy one of the homes.
Nothing like it.
This is a little strip of Heaven, beautiful beaches at Dana Point. I was surprised that beach parking was free at the parking lot on the bluff overlooking the ocean.
Absolutely beautiful. Quite and clean plus not to crowded. Smiles on nearly every face and plenty of surfers to watch. Caution tho some of the surfer circles have some pretty strong smelling reefer drifting around them. Still amazing views and clean ocean air make it worth visiting.
Super peaceful, plenty of space to sit back and relax!
The best of the best no doubt, beauty and beyond peace and safety.
Great beach !! Nice waves , beautiful sand , very little rocks in water and crystal clear water that you can see your feet standing in water :) on both ends of beach there are bathrooms .. I usually carry my stuff down the stairs that go thru the Strands at headlands community. . Sometimes the guards can be real jerks ( the large gaurd almost ran me over and when I said something to him he said look I stopped in time ) so be careful when walking cause he definitely wasn't watch for me . But as far as beaches goes this is by far the most amazing in Dana point . Free parking and for those unable to do the stairs a funicular that will take you almost all the way down to sand . Friendly lifeguards too.
This is such a beautiful beach and parking is free. This beach has everything you need, gorgeous views, showers, bathrooms and is very clean.
Giant homes overlooking a thin beach. Lots of parking though. Nice views from the top of the bluff. To bad all this area got developed and is inhabited by billionaires.
Lovely place for a family walk. Free parking, easy access beautiful beach.
Great views, free parking. If you want to get to the sand be prepared for a long hike down many stairs assuming the funicular is under repair (it frequently is).
Even though it can be painful to get up and down to this beach, it doesn't get too crowded like Laguna Beach and the views are great.
