Gorgeous views, delicious breakfast buffets, fun music in the lounge at night, and beautiful pool and beach. I miss it and can t wait to go back. We saw a huge pod of dolphins on our snorkel trip along the Nepali coast. Kauai is such a beautiful island.

Spectacular views. The best I ve seen from a hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel is dated and needs to be remodeled and modernized. Not to say it s bad, it s just not 5 star any longer, nor is it quite worth the money. Staffing also seems more 4 star than 5.

Beautiful resort. The beach is where the magic is, the view is absolutely breathtaking. I spent the entire day at the water, and even in the rain it was Paradise. At night the rooms are beyond comfortable, and ensure that you sleep as well as you spend the day. To top it off, the staff made things as smooth as can be. Wonderful experience, wonderful memories.

Went for our 1 year wedding anniversary and it was amazing. They have a seperate Gluten Free menu and the staff was very helpful. We made our reservation online and specified I had Celiac Disease so they were prepared when we arrived. The food was great, the view was amazing and we were given complimentary champagne and dessert for our anniversary. It is a bit on the pricey side but well worth it.

Bummed. Clearly still trying to live off the St. Regis name/reputation but failed. Valet staff was great -- interacting with them was the highlight of our stay. Lobby was opulent. Check-in was lacking, took way too long, and staff seemed disinterested (common theme aside from valet team).

As we got down into the different levels of the hotel, you could see its age and neglect. Carpet was beat up, lights not working, just dirty. Views from the room were amazing; it was great to be able to open and close the windows. Bathroom was dated and dirty and the showers were warm, at best.

The pool was large and nice but the pool bar was disappointing. Drinks were expensive and just okay. They seemed to be out of everything listed on the menu and the staff was aloof. Watched a bartender empty a gin bottle while making a drink - which was a drop or two (not even close to a six count), he commented that he did not have anymore gin and continued to make and serve drink -- stiffed the customer for sure. We had already moved to beer. Beach had the same trash on it for the 3 days we were there.

Ate at the bar for dinner one night and again staff was very disinterested (to be fair, they were definitely understaffed). The menu was also outdated meaning the waitress had to list off everything for us - which seemed to put her off. Food and drink were also really lacking for the insane pricetag. The bar/patio traffic was disorganized for everyone trying to catch a sunset. Folks would stand in front of and almost on top of your table to catch their shot.

The country band playing in the bar was fun, and again, the valet team was great -- but sadly even they couldn't make up for this "resorts" lackluster performance.

We decided to spend the remainder of our time off site. Hanalei is great. Food and people are amazing.

I kept hoping I would bump into hotel staff and be asked how things were going. Never happened, not even during check out. Seemed like staff knew not to ask. Have not even received an email asking for feedback.

Overall, we were incredibly disappointed given the amount we paid. Buyer beware. The Princeville Resort is going through this ownership transition and both sides seemed to have completely dropped the ball.

While staying at the Westin we were able to visit the St. Regis' beach and pool. We had two 4-year olds who loved seeing the Monk Seal napping on the beach! The pool and the beach are really well kept and to the left of the beach are the most beautiful trees ever. It makes you want to hug them! If you're staying at the Westin your towel cards work here too! As does your room number to order food. If you're an owner at Westin you get valet parking for free!

This is not a high-end luxury resort.

This is not a high-end luxury resort.

I repeat, this is not a high-end luxury resort.

We stayed at the St. Regis for four nights in early October 2018 as the second leg of our honeymoon.

When we arrived we were rushed in and were not offered water or any of the refreshments that the other guests were being offered at the two other check-in desks. We found that a bit strange, but moved on. Upon arriving to our room (one with a premium view) - 711 - we were shocked at the musty mouldy smell. The carpet was disgusting - not only was it stained, but it smelled. The room is so dated!

There was even a secondary rug where the sofa is. God only knows what that is supposed to cover. The initial day staff and management took us to other premium rooms in the hopes of making our stay more comfortable with each room being no better than the last. We decided to stay where we were originally. The manager tried everything she could, she was great, but unfortunately she cannot make up for the whole experience.

The room is advertised as being outfitted with a sound system and TV. Great! They did not mention you have to bring your iPhone 3 to actually plug in/play anything because the accessories are a million years old. When requested, no adapters anywhere to be found.

The first night was terrible and the smell of the room actually woke us up in the middle of the night. It was hard to breathe.

As the days went by, the experience continued in the same vain. There were marks on the ceiling where bugs were killed. There was one giant bug on the wall and a few worms on the carpet our last day, which we flushed down the toilet - you re welcome.

Breakfast was mediocre at best.

It was a mission getting coffee to the room - instead of it being refilled regularly, we had to keep calling the front desk. They also randomly ran out of their signature shampoo and conditioner - seriously? We were provided some off-brand.

The beach chairs were mouldy and gross. Towels were tattered and cheap. What exactly am I paying for? At no point did we feel like we were in a luxurious place. The hallways smelled like rotting fish all the time - not just the carpets.

Having read over other negative reviews after our stay, we noticed problems mentioned by past guests are the same ones echoed here and they simply have not been acted on. I guess this is what disappointed us most.

Again this is not a freaking Hojo 2* hotel and we definitely feel we did not have a positive experience. Keep in mind that when you pay a certain amount of money, you are to expect a certain quality of rooms and exceptional service.

In conclusion, not only would I not stay here, but any other St. Regis, ever. Further, I would not recommend this hotel to a) any family or friends or b) anyone else going for their honeymoon.

It boggles my mind how they have the audacity to charge the price that they do given the piss poor service and quality of amenities provided.

Beautiful setting and the sunsets are the best from this elevated spot on the cliff, but the hotel itself needs some updating. Felt very worn and outdate. Other than that the service was outstanding!

Kauai has so few fine dining options . . . unfortunately, this one is quite forgettable. Definitely in the bottom quintile of Jean-Georges' restaurants. Even the great view is compromised by the tinted windows.

It was good, but because they are shutting it down in May for 18-24 months to remodel it is old and shabby. the employees are nice all considered. It is a great location and could be a good place but the owners are not finishing very well before they remodel and fix everything. The employees are only getting a 6 month severance so many have quit to find work which is difficult on the Island.

Perfect from beginning to end. The entire staff was welcoming, friendly, and professional. The ambiance was exceptional and the view was priceless. The food was just delightful. I mentioned a vegetarian dish that i'd seen online to the waiter and even though it wasnt in the menu he knew what exactly what I wanted and it was so tasty I ate every bite! My husband had the filet and it was so tender he could cut it with a fork. We mentioned it was our anniversary and not only did they add a chocolate piece with "happy anniversary " written on it to our dessert, they also gave us complimentary champagne. The whole experience was truly a delight. We will be back again. Mahalo!

It's gorgeous, please don't get me wrong! But in terms of value-for-money - nah. Beach is small and rocky, besides grandeur of the lobby and the restaurant, the rest is quite mediocre - corridors (at least those I've seen), swimming pool, etc.

The location is absolutely fantastic. The bay, the views, these big old trees with the branches sheltering the beach are truly beautiful. Super romantic sunsets.

I can't say anything about the rooms at the St. Regis but the bar and lobby are super classy.

The most honest two star review I can give. Sorry about that should be their theme. There isn t a Worse deal on the island than staying at this resort. The rooms smell and feel like mold, which is obvious on the furniture/decor that hasn t been updated in 40 years. Randomly no room service one night with no explanation why. Only reason for two stars is the view and occasional customer service interaction. Resort needs some serious updating and Fast!

Never serve Bison unless you know how to cook it!! Suggestion go to where it has been grown and learn!!! The valentines menu was very misleading. They also over charged us $45 a plate and had to send the ticket back for correction.

Very friendly staff. We just stopped by for some drinks. The prices were very high. Quickly left before they took our first born child for the second round of drinks. Everything was very good. If you can deal with the regret of never giving your parents a grandchild, you should stop by.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! This is not an exaggeration. They seem to be understaffed yet understaffed at the same time and the building is extremely dated as it looks like an abandoned office building from the 70s. The rooms are the antithesis of the island surrounding it. The carpet is stained and sticky, furniture is faded, and the detergent smell burned my eyes. THIS IS NOT A 5-STAR HOTEL, more like a 2 star as the service is underwhelming and the room is uncomfortable. On top of that The rooms are exorbitantly expensive ($3500 a night) and so is the sub-par food.

The st. Regis has a million dollar View! Sunsets there are incredible. We were there for a wedding dinner and the service was impeccable. Felt very catered to and treated like royalty. Our dinner was amazing and so was the servicer. She had great recommendations and food pairings. The brussel sprouts were there bomb! Perfect place for a special dinner!

We came here for the restaurant and bar.
The view is great but everyone else know that and at sunset the place is packed.
Drink prices are outrageous. Two drink with tip $43.
On to dinner. Small Portions, food was not anything special. It looked fancy and well decorated but flavor was mediocre. We ordered a steak and never got a steak knife. Had to cut it with butter knife.
The hotel is very out dated looks like 70 s decor. Bathroom in lobby was filthy.
The one thing I liked was the singer in the lounge. He was very good.

PLEASE do not spend your money at this resort, especially if you re looking for a 5-Star experience they claim to have on their website.

From start to finish this place and experience was overpriced, undelivered and gross.

When we arrived, the staff were poorly kept and the front desk lady were not very friendly.

The rooms are super crusty, dirty, smelly and old. You can tell the place wasn t throughly cleaned and up kept.

And the food, my god the food. It was completely laughable. We were charged $90 for the breakfast buffet which was the equivalent of a Super 8 meal. The fish smelled, the servers were rude, the fruit was sour and cheap.

Upon our departure I was going to mention how horrible our experience was but the blonde lady (-assuming she s the manager) didn t even bother to ask how our stay was and couldn t get us out quick enough.

This place needs a total REVAMP along with a new staff with a better attitude.
DO NOT come here.

This resort features one of the most fantastic views in the world. Dining on their terrace is a great experience. They are in a great location for activities on north shore. I withhold a star due to some aging of the facility, the odd meal not perfectly cooked as ordered, and a small portion of the staff less enthused about service likely as a result of their impending closure for remodel. Even so, if you can afford their rates it is a great experience.

First, the food: private dining and Nalu Kai by the pool/beach were good.

Private dining: good Makiwali(?) burger, good salad, good shrimp skewers plump and perfectly grilled to be just cooked enough and still sweet. The mashed potatoes were fun and the Vierge sauce was tasty. Local beer was good.

Nalu Kai by the pool/beach: poke bowl was yummy; the cobb salad was good and had a kick. Hubby loved the pina coladas.

I would skip the weekday breakfast buffet at Makana Terrace. Quite mediocre foodwise, although the terrace view is lovely. Best thing was the fresh pineapple. For the money, private dining or Nalu Kai has much better food.

Service at the hotel was very good. Leland even brought a pillow for me at the beach. The valets offered water and disposed of trash for me.

Loved the evening maid service, where they cleaned up again and put out bottles of water and chocolates. This was a really nice luxury when the room gets sandy quickly, as is common at a beach resort.

The beach/pool staff would bring out water and once there was coconut lemonade and a watermelon square. Leland was great, but everyone was very attentive.

Beach and pool are very nice. Gorgeous sunsets.

The Laboratoire Remede bathroom toiletries smelled wonderful.

Facilities-wise this is not the newest hotel. The marble in the room is luxurious, but overall it's a bit of an old feel. We had a room right off the pool, which was very convenient as we spent a lot of time on the nice little beach and by the pool. Only first floor rooms have a lanai / mini patio. Can't really sit there too long as the mosquitoes come out, but great for drying swimsuits, as they will not dry in the room. Getting to the hotel entrance is a little tedious as you have to go up 2 sets of elevators to reach it.

Talk about making a girl feel special on her birthday! I was told happy birthday by every employee which was wonderful and above customer service standards . I ordered the Prix fixed menu for vegetarian even though I'm not truly vegetarian it was amazing. My other half ordered the other prix fixe which was amazing as well. You definitely need to consult david ingles (on site sommelier) for any wine choices. I'm very wine savvy but he made the Night by helping us branch out to new varietals. This place is worth every penny and I'm so happy that we chose to come here for my birthday. And finally Vueve Rose is a must along with Salted caramel sundae! Thank you st Regis. You definitely live up to your standards!

Excellent but "un-Amuse"

Excellent but "un-Amuse"
Having Christmas' Day dinner with my wife. We chose the Chef's Tasting menu, which supposedly included 6 courses: Amuse, Oyster, Molokai Sweet Potato Coconut Soup, Daily Catch (fish), Venison, and Dessert. My wife enjoyed the meal greatly, specially the dessert, which was a "Pumpkin/Valrona Chocolate Bar". After dinner, she took a photo of the menu as we left, she promptly mentioned to me that we were not served the "Amuse" first course.... I hated when these things happened, it supposed to be a top notch restaurant. The "Amuse" was a "Chef's choice", may be the chef chose not to make it....
