If you're middle aged you probably won't get hired here. I attended an interview with The Smart Group and afterwards was told today by the Recruitment company that put me forward that I didn't get the job because "I wasn't the right cultural fit." Sounds like they just want younger, backpacker types.

Awesome company to work for with dedicated team leaders offering constant training when ever needed. i had an awesome experienced and was working with some incredible individual from all over the world. making some awesome cash while really enjoying my time around awesome team members and dedicated team leader. get among st it this place will give you what you need to be a great sales person.
It was a pleasure to work at smart group! For the time I was an employee at the smart group it was a place that was enjoyable to work, which is more than you can say for alot of similar roles. I was promoted to write this review because I have now not been working there for 2 months and right on schedule received my last month's commission!

Fantastic opportunity to gain experience in direct sales and management. It can be a tough gig but thats ALL DIRECT SALES. The negative reviews here are from people that just aren't cut out for a performance based industry. Its not for everyone. Only people that want to push themselves and others to do better and make big money. For the rest have fun working at Maccas, bums.
After being strung along for interviews, I decided something was really fishy about working for this company (let alone that simply energy is a company that scams people into paying more money than they should for their electricity). I attended an interview, which the next day I was told I didn't get the job. However, the same day an hour later I get a call telling me to come in the next day again for another interview. I waste my time again, the same day (an hour later again) I get told i didn't get the job but they will consider me for the future. Might I add, when I got the first call telling me to come in for a second interview they made it clear that they were REALLY interested in hiring me, and having gone to the interview the day before I knew what to expect and did pretty well. I have been to many interviews in which I was successful, and this whole process seems completely off. A huge red flag.
Pretty good job if you're a backpacker looking for some quick dough to fund your next travel or simply looking to improve your sales skills. Culture is pretty good, however the managers are a bunch of pretentious, delusional Chavs who think they run the place when really, they're just corporate slaves. The ladies are nice though.

If you're reading this you probably googled smart group after seeing really vague adverts for jobs or being offered an "interview".
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME GOING.
The "interview" was 2 dozen people in a room listening to some guy waste everyone's time trying to convince people that they offer decent jobs. It's actually door to door sales.
