Nice atmosphere and a friendly waiter. However the waiter forget our drinks, and the food was really below average. The portion sizes were ridiculously small, and everything was wayy over salted.

The Shore Club is a fantastic restaurant located inside the Westin hotel. Beautiful classy look, but cozy ambience, everyone from the hostess to the general manager makes you feel welcome and livens your experience. The food is top quality and presentation is excellent. New favourite spot, I will be back!

Great food, amazing service, prices are on par with what you would expect to pay at a high end steakhouse. Reading others review's its obvious people in Ottawa don't travel or go to nice places so they are a little shocked by paying for quality and service.

Nice restaurant for a hotel but the wait was way too long. I ordered a steak, my colleague the fish and my other colleague just a plate of French fries. Took over an hour to get it!!!(ordered on a Friday night at 9pm) the place wasn't overly packed so it didn't really make sense. The waitress was nice and did apologize for the delay but when the bill came I jokingly asked if the French fries would be free for long wait and she just answered that there was nothing she could do? It's pricy, food is nothing special and the service from the kitchen is incredibly slow. I would avoid unless you're just going for a drink.

This was my first time eating here and I must say that I loved it except for one thing which was entirely my own fault. I went to a steak and seafood restaurant and ate fried chicken. The meal was good but honestly not for the price and j should have eaten what they specialize in. Our server Geoffrey was top notch, every other item we ate was good (calamari) to excellent (duck breast & cioppono). If you're seeking a romantic evening out, with some great food, this is your place. Just remember its high end so that means high end prices $$$$$!! Well worth it though for the experience.

Nice restaurant overall. The service was very good and the filet mignon was excellent. I sense there may have been a concern with the creme brule however. Myself and some colleagues experienced food poisoning within a few hours of leaving the restaurant. We had ordered different mains but had all had the creme brule. We felt pretty horrible for the following 4-16 hours. Some of us stayed home from work the following day.

When informed, the restaurant stated they would look into the matter, though I felt they were a touch dismissive stating that the creme brule is made every day and that they do not generally have issues with it. That being said, I do not know what investigation was done behind the scenes after informing the restaurant of the concern. Of note, no compensation was offered - though that was not the reason why we voiced our concern in the first place.

Nice ambience but overpriced food. 45 bucks for a filet mignon that tastes like one you would get at the keg. Three bucks to get sauce on the side. And the steak didn't even come with a side. This place is only good for happy hour.

My experience... average food at above average prices. Nothing really to get excited for or upset about. Service was good, staff friendly... Just kind of blah, unless you get real excited about some garlic mashed potatoes on bone marrow? Give this place a try if you are in the area.

Great staff and a good choice for an upscale night out. The restaurant has a great ambience and is rarely empty. Food is very good but is missing a certain wow factor. Could be slightly cheaper.

I would definitely return however.

This is a great restaurant. It's really pricey so beware, but the food is always excellently cooked and I highly recommend it. The braised short ribs are to die for- they are possibly one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten in my entire life.

Great service, buck-a-shuck happy hour, and good food. A little overpriced for what they offer but this is a place you go to be seen. One of the top places for fine dining in Ottawa, and not as well known. Can be very busy evenings and weekends, do reserve ahead!

Best steakhouse in Ottawa! They had wide variety of wines to choose from and cut of the steaks offered made it very hard to decide. I opted for the 24oz cowboy ribeye and paired it with a nice amarone. The chef cooked my Chicago style steak perfectly. Best meal I've had since STK last year.

Although the scenery is beautiful and the location is perfect as there's a parking nearby, the service did not live up to the outward beauty of the place.
I went there with a group of friends over the weekend. The waiting period for the server to take our order was 30 minutes. Then we waited one hour for our meals to be served. I was so famished I had to order some bread (which honestly, should have been served complementary as it was absolutely nothing special).
The prices are insulting for the taste AND the portions of the dishes. There's nothing wrong with expensive cuisine but the price should reflect the quality of the meals. In this case, it does not. In addition to that, I caught food poisoning for two days straight. I do not recommend this place, at least not for dinner. I hear lunch meals there are decent.

Not worth it overall, unfortunately, with some lovely food approaches and some tasty options, but leaves you feeling ripped off. Many folks are balking at the prices and for what you get they are absolutely right. From bare plates to secret pricing. Desperately sad plates of single serving proteins and presentation is lacking; and a ludicrous over $7 for water. Lovely dark dining room, passable service (putting items on the wrong bills, not being clear with pricing of drinks like the 9 oz glasses of wine that aren't included in the menu). Tasty food prepared with care. a bit heavy on the salt for some of our dinner mates. Stick with appys and desserts.

Nice place with a great atmosphere and friendly service. The bar staff is fantastic and always makes sure you have what you need. Prawns and Oysters at the bar during Happy Hour are the best along with the Sapporo that's on tap. We go here often after work and have never been disappointed.

Beautifully decorated but the food is average at best (tartar had little flavor and dry). Wine menu indicates $18/glass, bill came at $27/glass. Service was mediocre. We did not have an enjoyable experience at all unfortunately.

Excellent place to socialize. Their bar is big enough. I do not give 5 stars just because their happy hour menu never changes and is very limited and the service is uneven. Sometimes it's spotless and sometimes it's better.
Otherwise the food is delicious!

Food and service are amazing. I do suggest asking before ordering as you might get a surprise when your meal comes to the table (Single Tier Seafood Tower). We will definitely be back.

The only complaint was that they were out of Baileys for my coffee.

Great place for happy hour. Buck and shuck and $2 prawns. Gets busy so service can be very slow. Their platters (cheese style) is not the greatest and very expensive. I'd stick to the happy hour deals.

What a disaster. A restaurant in a nice hotel in a nations capital within a stone throw of the Hill that demonstrates high - class aspirations must be better. I should have clued in from the start when the hostess just told me to sit "wherever". Then the waiter could not describe the chef's appetizer. Then the steak came before salad. The steak was badly overcooked - but the waitress did not have a chance to ask for it during the 20 minutes of me waiting for wine or then chewing through overcooked cold meat. When she finally showed up I could not believe her question: "Do you still want your wine?". Needless to say - the wine did not come in at all. But the most amazing was that there was not a singly "I am Sorry." Not even an attempt to remediate situation...
I just assume that the place survives on clueless first time tourists who stay at WESTIN.

Had a great dinner at the Shore Club on New Year's Eve and am heading back there this weekend. This place had the feel of a real steak house if you were in Chicago or New York City. White coat service. An excellent a la carte menu. Try their shoestring potatoes with salt and vinegar. Delicious. Good cuts of meat and an amazing looking room when you walk. Great addition to the Westin Hotel.

Shore Club has the biggest and freshest tasting shrimp I've ever had. When you come for their happy hour deal, it's worth it. I've tried other prawns and oysters elsewhere, but after coming here I don't think I need to go anywhere else. Highly recommend if you're a seafood fan

So fancy, way fancier than I am used to. I thought for sure at some point the waiter would come by and say, "I'm sorry ma'am, not sure how you got in here but I'm going to have to ask you to leave." But he didn't. The waiter was very nice. He even brought me readers when my old eyes couldn't read the print on the menu. I ate the seafood tower like I was a hungry harbor seal. Would go back (if they let me in).

I've been several times for happy hour but I will not be returning after going during dinner service. Seafood cioppino was made with pure vinegar. The acidic fumes made it difficult to eat, it burned. Server was arrogant and made snide remarks for our order.

Delicious! You can't go wrong dining here. Whether it be for lunch or dinner, it's so good. My mother and I come here very often for lunch and we really enjoy it. Dinner is also so good! It is on the pricey side and it's a la carte so mains don't come with sides, you must order those separately; but it's all well worth it especially if you are celebrating a special occasion. The dinner atmosphere is romantic and dim, my husband and I try to get here for our birthdays or special occasion dinners. They offer valet parking which is a nice perk too. They have changed things over the years, for instance at lunch their prix-fixe menu isn't as good as it used to be, they may have even removed the prix-fixe option since the last time I dine. That aside, it is a great place to dine and would highly recommend!

Disapointing experience. Decor is dated and feels like early 90's. Had a caesar, it was good but who still tops it with a celery? A marinated bean or shrimp would've been nice. Food is average and over priced. Lobster was over cooked. Service was brusque, rushed and almost rude. Server would pour wine, bang the glasses and have water drip all over because he never took the time to wipe the bottle.

Maple Glazed Salmon is to die for. If you like Calamari it's also very amazing. My favorite side is by far the green beans sometimes they are a bit crunchy but I love them that way. The shoestring fries are also worth it. Definitely recommend this spot for a fantastic meal. It will not disappoint.

Food was good but expensive ($35+ for a main plus the cost of a side) which is fine if the place lives up to it. Unfortunately the service we had Saturday night did not live up to the price tag. Our server was uninterested in us, seemed to care little about the food or how to make a memorable experience for a guest. When I m paying a high price tag for a meal, I expect a server to be attentive and available, our server spent most of his time chatting to a younger female waitress. Service is half the reason you go out. I wouldn t waste your money here, as the guest is clearly not the priority, I will not be returning.

Great Food!!! This is an old school restaurant that serves shrimp cocktail and has their servers in white coats but sometimes I like that.Too many restaurants are trying to be IN but don't care about the two important things; Food and Service!! The bar is a great place to start or eat if you are alone and the restaurant is perfect just like the steaks. Just wished they would allow you to request a garlic rub or steak spice on your meat. Highly recommend it and will go at least twice a month.

A very classy surf n turf restaurant. Food was ABSOLUTELY delicious, and the wait staff were prompt and professional. I recommend the shrimp mac and cheese, the risotto and the salmon.

Nice place with plush seats. Definitely has an upscale look. Although they never made a fuss about my extra casual attire. Not even a word. They have a good happy hour deal; one dollar per oyster. Otherwise, the food is expensive. Friendly and prompy service. The waitress seemed a bit annoyed about my paying with cash. Best bring debit. My only complaint is that it's dark in here. Too dark for food pictures.
