I went here with my boyfriend, he had been looking forward to this meal all day but I didn't really want to go I kept telling him that we should go somewhere else but due to how excited he was we ended up going to Shore Club anyways. Fast forward to getting our mail, we had a great server and the chef also gave us some sort of special snack that's very nice however I ordered the surf and turf which is usually would I order at any place that has this dish because usually you can never go wrong and steak is my favourite. However close to the end of my meal I started feeling pretty sick I Shrugged it off thinking maybe I ate too fast or too much by the time we got home my boyfriend was puking his guts out he blamed it on drinks and we went to bed around 1 a.m. I woke up sick as a dog. Mind you I don't drink so there went the excuse of alcohol making me sick. I had the worst food poisoning for two days straight almost didn't even have to take an ambulance to the hospital I will NEVER RETURN. Be very cautious just because you're spending $500 does not mean that the food will be good. Are meal almost came to around $600 for everyone who was at dinner to end up sick.

While a previous visit several months ago was a lovely experience, our Christmas Day dinner fell far short of the mark. The table was too small for 3, resulting in me left holding my wine and water glasses after all of the dishes had been served. There was nowhere left for me to put the glasses down as I watched oblivious servers simply walk away! We ended up serving ourselves and then stacking the plates so I could put my glasses down. Part of the problem is that they serve all side dishes "family style", resulting in way too many large dishes on a small table. Two of the 3 main courses were overcooked, the fish to the point that it was inedible. While it was eventually taken away and a replacement offered, by then it was too late as the other 2 of us were almost through our meals. Very disappointing considering the price. We won't return.

Making the reservation was great, easy, accommodating. The restaurant itself is nicely appointed and the food was excellent. The service on the other hand was not a good experience. The staff were friendly, but they were constantly trying pick up the plates from the table, even though we weren t done eating. This was annoying mainly because it happened 4-5 times, and it s not like the place was busy at that time. It s disappointing when you pay $200 for a meal and you leave not happy based on the service.

I absolutely loved my dinner at The Shore Club! Everything was flawless. Food was absolutely amazing, our server Alex was polite and extremely helpful, and the whole experience was exceptional. They also go above and beyond when you are celebrating a birthday! Will absolutely be making a point to come back more often!

Great atmosphere. Music in the bar area wonderful. Sliders on the small plates menu on the dry side. Bartenders on the "ball." Fabulous place to meet people.

Casino food. Very good value for price as long as you don't end up at the slot machines. Cafeteria ambiance but pleasant and good acoustics so you can chat with your party over dinner without shouting.

Was a regular here, but now prices have increased substantially and portion sizes have shrunk. Paid $42 for 3 medium shrimp and 3 medium scallops. That's $7 per shrimp or scallop. And remember any starch or veg is extra as a separate side dish. Service also has deteriorated. Front staff has lost their professionalism. First not able to find my reservation then insisting no one else in dining party had arrived. Both mistakes on their part. Never an apology given. In addition, after waiting 40 mins for our food, waiter comes to apologize and says "can I get you some bread while you are waiting?" We accepted his offer then when bill comes there is a$4 charge for bread!! WTH??!! Definitely no longer an appealing dining option. Overpriced for both portion size and service.p

Not worth the price. You have to pay for sides you only get the neat and have to pay for add one. Service was super slow

The few times I have been I've likes this place. Steak is good. But a but in the pricey end.

You can't beat happy hour at the shore club! $1 oysters, wine specials and comfortable chairs...Ambience is awesome! 4-7pm weekly, it's my after work go to spot!

Always a delight. And although it's a steak specialty restaurant there usually are a few vegetarian options not on the menu if you ask

Nice, high end restaurant & bar. We had bad luck the other night when our drink selections were sold out on a few occasions, but otherwise a great time out. I found the food a bit overpriced but at least if high quality.

Good food, efficient wait staff, and lovely Baked Alaska. The atmosphere was quiet but the lighting was too low to easily read the menu.

**UPDATE: As much as I highly praised this place, I received horrific service when I went with two of my girlfriends who are also people of color. These girls are my age (26), and the server was not pleased seeing any of us. It looked like we did something personal to him and his entire family! We thought he could just be having a bad day, however, he was completely happy with the other tables around us. When my boyfriend and I go here, we get exceptional service. Probably because he is white and older so looks like he has "the means" to tip.

Well deserved 5 star. Not only did they make my experiences amazing, I treated my parents here for their anniversary dinner while I was out of town and everything went off without a hitch! They have excellent attention to detail and their level of professionalism is unsurpassed.

I went here on a Friday night for my first time many moons ago. Lovely ambiance, and definitely a wonderful experience with our server. However, the steak here is extremely overrated. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare but it arrived close to well done. At that point I didn't care since I had scallops and lobster tail as well, which was quite delicious, however I don't think the steak warrants the price at all.

Stick to the seafood and the wine and you'll be golden.

One thing also that i liked is they didn't include one of the side dishes that we've ordered because i took only a small peace of it and I didn't like it so they said no need to pay because you didn't eat it

The steak here will change your life, a bit on the expensive but the service, food and atmosphere make it all worth it 100%.

Have been there on a couple occasions. The service is excellent but the food is below par.

Had a presentation today at the Shaw Convention Centre and I am extremely proud of my team and my co-presenter.

This was the perfect end to a great trip and wonderful time in Ottawa. Looking forward to coming back.

Service, great, Ambiance, great, Sliders, great, accomodation, great. It's what you hope for but not usually expect. Did not disappoint!

Each time I come here for happy hour oysters and each time I leave content. The oysters are always fresh, the sliders taste absolutely delicious! And the price just can t be beat. I ve been here twice and will likely keep coming back!

1 dollar oysters and 2 dollar prawns 4-7pm. Love it!

Classy place in the heart of Ottawa. Ever since Hy's closed its doors, this is the go to high end steakhouse in Ottawa.

Amazing happy hour, $1 oysters. Food is always great! Good Ottawa spot.

Very pricey for small portions. That said I understand it's trying to be an upscale restaurant but I didn't get that vibe when the waitress was complaining about her back, or we were missing an oyster from our order. Quality of food overall was good. Just expensive for what you're getting (from service to food).

Terrible service!! Went for lunch and it took over an hour to get our food. I gave 3 stars because the food was great but the service was terrible. And then the waitress couldn't figure out how to use the machine for payment. Argh!!

Their "seafood" soup tasted like bland gravy from a can. Their Manhattan steak ($35) tasted like salt with some meat on it, not to mention it was a bare plate with a lonesome wallet sized meat in the middle. The mushrooms was also just a mouth full of seasoned salt. The chicken might have been straight from KFC.. which explain why it was so dry by the time it got to the table (approx $30). $10 for a normal side is outrageous. Similar sides usually come included with the steak at other places. You can have better food at less than half the price at moxies. The wine was good.. but probably because the chef didn't touch it. Don't waste your money there.

Just because The Shore Club resides within a Westin Hotel, don't be deceived into thinking that it might offer just "hotel food". It's operated separately and excellently by Fred & staff who are highly attentive and knowledgable in food and wine selections, with quality ingredients and preparation to match. A very pleasant surprise during my stay at the hotel!

Celebrated my birthday at this restaurant. The food was good, the service was top notch. The only complain I would have is that my steak was a bit dry. Other than that, starting from the drinks to the entree meals and desserts this place was a gem.

Although pricey you get what you pay for and the service was excellent. Would recommend for a nice night out.

Good food and good customer service, but a little too expensive compared to similar places in the area. Also the chairs are very uncomfortable.

Went for the happy hour to try something new. Great sliders during this time for 3 dollars. Fresh oysters and shrimp also available. Cocktails were mixed well. Staff was still attentive during a very busy time which is great to see. Would need to try the full menu next visit but a great experience regardless.

Very good service and seafood! Our server from start to finish was super attentive, courses came out in timely manner each time and all the sides are delicious and great portion size!

We arrived for our reservation and we were greeted by a very kind hosting duo who promptly took our jackets. They lead us through the large restaurant to the back platform to a spacious table for 6. We went out for a birthday supper and it was a great evening.



The sides were tasty, well presented and portioned. The texture of the risotto was creamy and a wonderful surprise of sweet with a few cranberries. The Mac and cheese lobster was very flavourful and tender, the mushrooms were squeeled and a nice note size.

After dinner, they brought a bite size brownie for everyone.

The main doors as well as tables and washrooms are large and accessible.

There is a bar to sit and enjoy sports on the large television.

Great assortment of wine and drinks.

Prices were relatively expensive but the quality of food, service and atmosphere was worth it.

Went for the happy hour oysters, left with a wonderful experience. This was my second time at this restaurant and as usual the service, food, ambiance were all excellent.

Great private room for a business presentation and food was great.

I've been there twice in the past few months. The last visit I had the lamb chops Unseasoned, tasteless. The time before, short ribs which had a glaze that overpowered the meat.

This use to be my go-to spot but no more. Overpriced for what you get.

Wow. Went here for our anniversary dinner while in town on business last month. Being a gay couple, sometimes you worry that your server will mistreat you or ignore you for being gay. Needless to say, this one embraced it. Clearly seen we were celebrating, was very attentive and very courteous.

The food was phenomenal. The seafood was uber Fresh, and the steak perfectly cooked, believe me, my partner s a chef and has high standards so for him to say wow this is cooked to perfection, is an eyebrow raiser for me. The clam chowder was absolutely delicious. Super hot, and oh so flavourful....and dessert. Was the perfect ending! Did you notice I don t have a photo? Yup, that s what!

The Black Cod and King Crab was superb. Tasted fresh and moist. Not rubbery at all. The grilled lemon which came will the meal, totally enhanced the flavours. The 10oz New York was a high grade cut of meat. The service is good and seating is comfortable.

Great atmosphere, Very Expensive. All the food is A La Carte. If you buy a burger, you pay extra for fries or salad etc. Be Prepared to spend $100's of $$$ per person.

I never like to order steak in a restaurant because I prefer mine medium well and it always comes out too rare. However, this place never fails to bring me the most perfect delectable steak, exactly the way I want it. So damn good!!!!!!

I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. The food is outstanding and the service is amazing. I love how friendly the staff was and how the focus is on the food and experience rather than how fancy it all looks. Would highly recommend.

My favorite restaraunt of all time (for atmosphere). I love going here for drinks. I tried their chicken breast once before as well and it was great. Their dim lighting and super comfortable chairs set a great mood for date night or going out with friends. It's pretty quiet too, at least the times I have went.
