My wife and I loved the performance of "Much Ado About ..." Intimate theater, great performance! You can reach out and touch the actors because you are SO close ... I very much liked being able to be SO close to the performers and hear them breath... and feel the emotion, the laugher , the sadness, the love.
The character switches were fabulous. I loved how they used the accents ... well done! At intermission I stuck up a few conversations with friendly folks ... one gentleman explained to me some very funny twists in the interpretation ... the other guy I spoke to was struggling with the language of Shakespeare but he was enjoying the performance also. I was truly entertained by these talented actors for a VERY reasonable price.
I recommend this performance ... you are NOT taking a chance ... it is a STRONG show with great actors. I may seem sappy or simpleminded, but I DID Laugh and I DID Cry.

The dog was very well trained!

I auditioned for a role in one of their musicals. The ad specifically said prepare two monologues and a song from the musical. I prepared all three things in less than a week for this specific audition and guess what? They asked me to just perform the song, smiled, and politely asked me to leave. I believe the director just had some stigma and racism towards Asian actors because she was not even friendly. Another thing, this is a small, black box theatre that prides itself on too many things that I just completely disagree with. Good luck.

The Secret Theatre is a sweet, hidden theatre that's surprisingly convenient to get to- close to the G/7/E/M/R/N or Q and not far from the F- and is constantly showcasing an array of shows for any type of show-goer. We especially love the Late Night Series because Guilty Pleasures Burlesque has an entertaining variety show on the last Saturday of the month, every other month ;)

Small & imitate theatre. All seats have great views except for the those behind structure beams . I attended the first and second programs of "Act One : One Act Play Festival. All performances were fantastic . My favorites were "Help Me Get Over You" & "Clean-Shaven" ! Definitely worth attending!

Nice theatre plenty of seats the drinks are at a fair price compared to some other theatres. The chairs are your standard cheap seats but if you have been to smaller theatres you know to expect that

The people are really nice and kind. The programs small and well run with a focus on the artistic side in each person and the collective work. It could be maintained better though, it s kinda run down a little.

I signed up for improv lessons with Face Off after attending their hit show "Batsu!" at St. Marks Place. I had no improv training, but 3 months later I was proud to call improv my primary hobby. Eric, Jay, and Joe each bring something unique to the group yet all three are very obviously masters of their craft.

While the lessons, which mostly consist of learning, practicing, and critiquing performance in short-form games, are geared towards comedy (many students go on to perform for Face Off, myself included), these lessons are more about adopting a way of thinking and being that is responsive to the social and environmental situation one is in. They're about being supremely present in the moment.

I haven't taken other improv classes in the city, only because I am completely satisfied with my Face Off experience so far. If you're looking for an effective counter to NYC jadedness, this is a good one.

A funky little gem of a local theatre that's quick and easy to get to from Manhattan - and, btw, just a stone's throw from the excellent PS 1 MOMA museum and only a mile form the also way cool Museum of the Moving Image - so you can make a great cultural day in the area on a modest budget... ...with this as the after dinner treat!

Just saw their current electric production of Macbeth and the space is full of a vibe of a lot of creative spirits injecting positive energy into it over a period of years like the way a well-played violin gets a better sound over time.

Inexpensive, intimate - the first row of chairs is on the floor of the main stage - we were five feet from the King of Scotland (!) - and I'm inclined to follow their schedule and go again.

It's not a classic theater, but it's an important venue in LIC. Right off of the train, near places to eat and drink. Both the big theater (99 seats or so) and the black box are good places to watch a show.

My family and I went for the Peanuts' Christmas performance on December. The place is very small and cozy, it was a very entertaining and catchy play; what left me a negative experience was the staff in the theatre. They weren't courteous, the 2 gentlemen were inpatient and seemed to be confused about how to distribute the seats. It wasn't my first time there, I usually go with friends and our kids, but every time I go there's always a feeling of confusion among the staff.

Ok
