Absolute beauty. A place of calm and source of energy. Hiking paths to wander, direct access to Lake Michigan, a multi story climbing tower to see and hear the environment. Appears to have educational programs for children as well.

The Schlitz is a beautiful way to escape the city and see nature without having to drive far. My favorite time of the year to hike there is during late winter when there aren t as many people. I ve encountered deer, turkeys, and many birds. This place is beautiful and relaxing during any season. Their Word with a Bird program allows kids (and adults) to see and learn about birds. Get a membership, it s totally worth it!

We LOVE Schlitz Audubon Nature Center!! Our children have been lucky to attend K3, summer camps, and After School Adventure Club here over the past 2 years.

We just finished hosting our 3 and 5 year old s birthday there today and are even MORE impressed!! Cassie did an excellent job hosting our party, teaching the kids about 3 different reptiles & amphibians, guiding them on a hike, and helping to manage the 15 kids in attendance. The birthday party space was clean, bright, colorful, educational and offered recycling and composting for almost all of our waste! The kids loved learning about, touching, and holding the animals. What a wonderful place to spend a birthday!!

SANC is one of our happy places! Kudos to EVERYONE there who makes it SO remarkable!

We were here for a wedding and the whole experience was phenomenal. The ceremony space, the staff, the food and the party was absolutely amazing! The staff was very friendly and prompt at removing glasses, plates, etc. The bartenders were friendly and helpful to make sure everyone who wanted a drink had one. The food was delicious! The wedding we attended did 3 stations; one was a carving station, one was pasta and one was mexican. I tried a little of each and was not disappointed with anything! The cheesecake for dessert was delicious and the baileys shots in chocolate cups were an excellent touch. Highly recommend! We hope another of our friends gets married here so we can come back for the food!

Absolutely gorgeous venue for a wedding in early fall. We had an amazing day with beautiful natural scenery for photos to celebrate our family's very important day! And the lodge was perfect with cocktails and appetizers on the huge wrap-around porch followed by dinner inside and dancing. Just like a fairy tale wedding!

Went for the Extreme Raptor event with the kids and could not have enjoyed it more (well, I guess it could have been warmer, but hardly their fault). Got to get close with several interesting birds, and even saw Loki paint some "art". Great for kids. Take the steps up to the tower for a great view, and a walk through the woods down to lake Michigan. Many walkways through varied woods. We will be back.

About The Schlitz Audubon Nature Center

The Schlitz Audubon Nature Center is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of Lake Michigan and its surrounding habitats. The center offers a wide range of educational programs and activities for people of all ages, with the goal of promoting environmental awareness and conservation.

One of the key missions of Schlitz Audubon is to protect and restore the diverse ecosystems that exist in this region. This includes everything from wetlands and prairies to forests and beaches. By working with local communities, businesses, and government agencies, Schlitz Audubon has been able to make significant progress in preserving these habitats for future generations.

In addition to its conservation efforts, Schlitz Audubon also provides a variety of educational programs designed to help people learn more about the natural world around them. These programs are available for both children and adults, with topics ranging from bird watching and nature photography to ecology and sustainability.

For children, there are summer camps where they can explore nature through hands-on activities like hiking, fishing, kayaking, or even learning how to build a fire safely. There are also after-school programs that focus on science education as well as outdoor recreation.

Adults can participate in workshops on topics such as gardening or composting or attend lectures by experts in fields like ornithology or botany. There are also guided hikes throughout the year where visitors can learn about local flora/fauna while enjoying scenic views along Lake Michigan's shoreline.

Schlitz Audubon Nature Center has become an important resource for anyone interested in learning more about our environment while enjoying some time outdoors. With its beautiful location on Lake Michigan's shorelines combined with knowledgeable staff members who are passionate about their work - it's no wonder why so many people visit this place every year!

If you're looking for an opportunity to connect with nature while learning something new at the same time - then be sure not miss out on visiting The Schlitz Audubon Nature Center!
