Top notch day spa that will be hard to beat. Could not fault one single thing. It was just perfect! From the cliff top hot tubs, to the meditation room, the detox tea, the rhassoul, the pool, the staff and service, the fluffy bathrobes, the afternoon tea... its endless! Pure perfection.

We chose this hotel to host our intimate wedding ceremony and was not disappointed. Beautiful rooms with spectacular views across the bay and open ocean, delicious food, laid back friendly and attentive staff, hot tubs on the cliff facing the sea....
We will be back to celebrate our anniversaries!!

First Male Therapist, made me feel comfortable and relaxed, great strong massage for my many muscular knots. Towels and robes are starting to show their age. Overall atmosphere is wonderfully calm and peaceful, lovely decor and well maintained swimming pools, hot tubs and stream room. Staff were kind and helpful. Full spa day includes lunch... Which could do with being more substantial! No carbs and very little protein, I've never had so many carrots in one meal! Very tasty though. Car park is small and hard to get in to, plus people are parking there then going to the sister hotel. Beautiful views across mawgan porth.

The entire experience from start to finish is worth every penny and you leave feeling as though you are replenished and heeled in body and mind. We simply love this place!

Outstanding hotel. A lovely place to spend some time and very relaxing. Everything is as you would expect in a hotel of this class. The outdoor hot tub is well worth a visit as is the outdoor fresh water pool. The food in the restaurant rivals the big name chefs place just down the road. If you get the chance spend some time here.

Loved our 3 day stay here. The facilities lived up to expectations and the food was delicious. Awesome view of Mawgan Porth beach from our room and easy access through a gate at the bottom of the garden. Cliff top jacuzzi with a cocktail was awesome too! All staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back.

Really great afternoon tea overlooking the Mawgan Porth beach. As this is an adult only place, there were no screaming children while trying to have a relaxing afternoon.

After our leisurely afternoon tea, we went for a short walk in their gardens. Their gardens are terraced and still overlook the beach.

Would definitely recommend coming here for their food. Our afternoon tea was amazing and their tea is locally sourced.

Fabulously well positioned spa hotel with massive bonus of no kids allowed. Top class food, very helpful members of staff and various treatments (massages etc) too. Charging points for electric cars too. Third or fourth visit for us.

Stunning location. Amazing hotel with superb views and fantastic staff.
From the minute you arrive the staff make you feel at home. There are plenty of comfortable lounges to sit and relax in as well as terraces and balconies if you want sit outside. Venture a little further to find sheltered pods overlooking the sea where you can sit and watch the waves running up the beach. Cliff top hot tubs are definitely not to be missed.
The restaurant offers a menu that varies every evening and a wine list that covers every taste and occasion.
The rooms are simply perfect, with sea views and everything you need.
I will definitely be back for more indulgence and pampering.

A wonderful place in a wonderful place... except they do this weird and disgusting thing of having the en suite bathrooms separated from the bedrooms only by opaque glass, which doesn't even reach the ceiling. It kind of sucks all the romance out of the place.

Wonderful stay had at The Scarlet recently. A really impressive hotel, spa and restaurant! From beginning to end they made our stay so relaxing & perfect. Its a beautifully designed hotel, with a restaurant and menu that changes every day with fresh, healthy produce thats sourced locally. All the staff were calm, friendly, helpful and professional during our stay. The bedroom was beautiful, clean and designed simply with organic toiletries and a sea view of the cornish coast. They lent us some wellies to walk along the beach with as I forgot mine, aswell as a DVD from their collection one night when we fancied watching a film. A newspaper of our choice was delivered to our room every morning along with breakfast in the biggest bed I've ever slept in! We both went for a 45 minute short journey (massage) in the spa which was fantastic- followed by a glass of champagne outside in the hot tub overlooking the sea. If you ever fancy a break, or just a chance to get away from it all to a beautiful and quiet corner of the country- go! Lovely service, wine, food, cocktails, massages, coastal walks and atmosphere.

If I could give 6 stars I would! The building itself is incredibly well thought out and clearly designed to make the most of this stunning location. Definitely more 'retreat' than 'hotel'. The facilities are top notch (I especially enjoyed the pool) and my skin still looks/feels great 3 days after my facial. Love the eco-ethos which they manage to combine with full-on luxury. The staff are fabulous and a credit to the manager, who couldn't do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Restaurant was lovely (even for the fussy eaters amongst us) and the cliff-top hot tub is a must. This is first class without the pretentiousness. Loved it!

Though I didn't care much for the interior decor (felt a bit like a recovering collector trying to go zen), the spa is absolutely fantastic! I had no intention of using it, but it's sustainable and eco friendly design, warm and gentle vibes and incredible views had me sign up for ( a rather expensive) luxury spa day.
The outdoor natural-esque swimming pool, filtered by reeds and the outdoor hot tubs overlooking the expansive beach were deeply satisfying to use. The masseuses were caring and connected to Ayurvedic and other schools of eastern thought. The food was quite delicious (with herbs from their own garden) and the no children policy made it quiet and peaceful.

Can't recommend the spa enough if you want to tune out and tune in.

The scarlet is just the best hotel ever. Rooms all have views of the awesome beach and the surfers waves curling and crashing. The restaurant is soooooo good and the wine matching is perfect. The staff are all fantastic. Be aware that this is a seriously luxurious hotel is an unbeatable location. It is also a ecologically friendly business so there is no air conditioning. Which you dont need the hotel is on a cliff next to the Atlantic. They also have a no children policy so this is quiet calm place catering for mostly older richer people. The scarlet is expensive but you get what you pay for. My top tip is to fly into Newquay airport which is tiny and less than 3 miles from the hotel. Also book dinner for later rather than earlier in the evening as you will need to time to feel hungry again after breakfast and lunch.
If you can afford this hotel this is the hotel to go to.

Wow, what a treat to find this lovely hotel, spa and restaurant. I visited for lunch with friends a few weeks ago and the whole experience was utterly relaxing and for a few hours I felt like I had been whisked away on holiday.

The restaurant has floor to ceiling windows on one side with sweeping views of the beach and out to sea. The service was really warm and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious.

I can't wait to return and enjoy a stay at the hotel and a dip in one of the outdoor hot tubs!

My partner took me here last Thursday for my birthday and the hotel was absolutely beautiful it was clean and the staff were amazing. It was a very posh hotel but the staff were dressed relaxed which i loved as it made me feel more comfortable and relaxed too. The food was absolutely beautiful every single thing i ate was to die for the best food i have had for years and years. The staff was always making sure that we were ok and if we needed anything else. I was greeted by a lady at reception when we checked in did not got her name long dark hair in a ponytail and glasses but she showed us around the hotel and was very chatty and friendly. There was a young lady called Ellie who was based in the spa area she said it was her first week later on in the day, I honestly thought she had been there for a while as she seemed comfortable in the environment she was working in. She was very friendly and smiley and made our experience enjoyable by chatting to us and making sure we were ok and also pull all the stops so we could eat during our spa in a lounge which was based upstairs in our robes. Stacey was fantastic he looked after us at the hot tub he made our experience memorable by providing us drinks and asked 'if we wanted photos taken he would be more than happy to' which was brilliant as the hot tub was in a beautiful spot. When we checked out we were approached by a young lady called Hayley who was also very friendly and also smiley and made sure that our experience at the hotel was ok and was very approachable. I highly recommend anyone coming here for a treat it is all round the best place to go to in a great setting. Big thumbs up!! Was a great birthday treat!!

Having read lots of incredibly positive reviews I was expecting big things and wasn't sure whether this place would meet my expectations but it definitely did.
In my head I had lots of ideas for things to do in Cornwall while we were there but the reality was that the hotel was so nice we didn't want to leave.
It felt immediately homely and like you could be anywhere in the hotel and be looked after whilst also feeling relaxed and comfortable. All the details had been thought through.
The breakfast was FANTASTIC. You order from a three course menu which in my mind is far better than an all you can eat, buffet situation. We ate dinner there on one night and that was delicious too.
The spa treatments were incredible. I've never felt so relaxed. The views were stunning.
The only small fault I could pick out was the size of the beds. I know you could spend more money and get king sized beds but I felt like, at that cost, all rooms should have had atleast a king size. But it probably wouldn't have bothered me so much if I wasn't pregnant and in need of all the space I can get! Other than that the 'just right' rooms were just that!
I can't wait to revisit this place.

Very relaxing stay with good food and cheerful staff. I've never drunk so much tea :) the room was warm and had a great view of the bay. We had fun playing pool, swimming in the pool and relaxing in the chill out lounge. Dinner was delicious and breakfast in bed was a treat. Worth the visit!

Interesting architecture and super views of the sea and bay. Very relaxing place. Pool is very nice. Could work on their food offering - the dinner and breakfast were a bit below the standard I d expect from this sort of hotel. The decor in places was also a little Chintzy.

A relaxed and welcoming hotel, full of beautiful, original art and delicious smells! There lots of comfortable places to sit and relax and admire the stunning views of the sea. The rooms are gorgeous, the spa treatments are wonderful and don't miss out on sitting in a cliff top hot tub with a glass of something sparkly! The staff are all very friendly and helpful and although it's an expensive treat it's a memorable and joyful one.
