Not the biggest zoo, but its very nice
Difficult in wheelchair, steep and uneven at some points
Variety of animals to see also minute train around zoo
Beautiful place to visit it's so green I loved it here
The best Zoo in California! A wide range of animals and the location is beautiful!
I was thinking that the Santa Barbara Zoo would be small but I was wrong. VERY nice park they were remodeling the elephant exhibit so we could not see them but I'm sure it will turn out wonderful. Will be back next time we visit Santa Barbara.
Beautiful gardens and a great place to spend an afternoon with the kids
Pricy little place but it has been updated quite a bit in the last few years.
Nice zoo to visit if you are just looking for a short outing. Not very big. The train operator (an older man) is awesome.
Taking Covid Measures Seriously. Not too crowded and your ticket is timed to avoid over crowding!
Many little animals store, the place is nice but it has many empty spaces very expensive for what it has
A wonderful place to visit have a picnic and explore with your children or grandchildren
My family and I love this Zoo. We love Santa Barbara! One of the few places to go where tickets aren't $100 a person! And you can bring your own food!! So we love to have a picnic on the lawn at the top of the hill about half way through setting for a beautiful day with the animals!
It's a cozy little zoo. Perfect for toddlers. You can feed giraffes!
We spent Sunday morning at the SB Zoo and it was great!
the zoo's wonderful it's beautiful and has a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean!
Great zoo, pink flamingos, and elephant, giraffes, a bald eagle, lots of great exhibits. Take the trolly, or the bus.
Have loved it for 40 years. Sadly going down...no elephants.
Better than Disneyland. The staff, helpful and the animals look comfortable.
My two grandchildren and I had a wonderful afternoon. My grandchildren, ages 9 1/2 and almost 11, didn't want to leave. It took a promise to return soon to get them out by closing. They were entranced by the variety and accessibility of the animals as well as the activities available.
We visited the zoo with our 2 year old and it was the perfect size. The two reasons I didn't give 5 stars is that some of the exhibits needed cleaning, especially the glass to view the animals, and because paid prices for children starts at 2.
Awesome zoo to take the kids to. Lots of exhibits and fun.
Clean, and animals were well cared for. Courteous staff, very helpful and very interactive during the kids shows.
What a pleasant way to spend the afternoon. I love animals and appreciate the care and responsibility they take here
I do think Little Mac is sad tho.
beautiful place for a long walk beautiful flowers. our kids and grand kids love days here.
Great zoo right off the beach. We purchased season passes.
I hadn't been to this zoo since I was a child and I'm now 43! I went with my sisters and their little ones. Great zoo tucked away in Santa Barbara!
I love this zoo. It's a ton of fun and cole by the pier and state street (downtown Santa Barbara). Very fun for a small zoo. I would give it 10 stars if they had them!!!!
A very large variety of animals in easy walking setting and a great gift shop!
We were there for a work event, they do a great job of making you feel welcome
Amazing zoo, I really love all the reptile exhibits!
I dont know how much of my trip was limited due to covid....however....the few animals we did see were lethargic and all of the habitats seemed run down. They had 5 condors in a tiny little cage with only one perch they were sharing. On the other side...The people were friendly enough and the facility was clean. They have a beautiful green area with a pretzel stand and a little shade. Folks were social distancing.
Smaller than San Diego zoo, but still great for the price. Make sure to feed the giraffes!
Had so much fun here! Love the alligator and birds lol
Easy to walk through and see everything at a relaxing pace, the keepers were knowledgable, and the animals had well sized exhibits
Family friendly and a medium sized zoo. Kids can find a lot of things to do here. Worth getting a membership
Awesome place for anyone that loves animals......absolutely have to ride the train around the zoo!
One of the best zoo's we have ever visited!
Beautifully located next to the ocean, both kids and parents love it. Easily navigated and well organized. We go back many times a year.
Had a great day at the Zoo in Santa Barbara. We went to this location compared to the L.A. Zoo based off the area it's in. Easy to get to, parking wasn't expensive, and it was by the beach. The zoo itself was in great order. The various animals were a sight to see. My toddler loved it, his favorites were the giraffes and snakes.
Nice place to spend the day. Did not have as many cool animals as a lot of other zoos.
Fantastic animals and a beautiful place to spend a day. Thoroughly enjoyed it as well did the whole family.
All around great exhibits - especially tropical birds. Staff so helpful.
Small enough to see everything in a few hours, big enough to keep the kids interseted. Recommended.
This zoo is awesome! Beautiful views so much shade, well kept grounds, play area for kids. Bring cardboard for kids to slide down the hill on. Feeding the giraffes is $3ea train ride around the zoo is $6per person. We love this zoo.
It was amazing. I am accustomed to SF Zoo but SB Zoo is just as amazing. Very well kept. Good customer service also.
Small zoo but over all nice. The train ride could have been better. The play area for kids was fun. & for $4. You can feed certain animals. Which kids enjoy
Very good place for families. Has picnic areas . Close view of animals . Highly recommended.
My Favorite Zoo! You can get really close to the animals.
Nice zoo, bot as big as expected and the map was a bit hard to navigate, but fun
The best zoo it's super well laid out and all the staff are super friendly and ready to help or answer questions. Really clean and just a great way to spend the day!
Nice zoo if your already in town. Don't make a trip there just for the zoo.
I thought it was rather a pitiful zoo. Most of the displays had very few animals, some only one. One alligator? One gorilla? One lion? No elephants.
The grandkids had fun though and that's why we went. Next time, if there is a next time, we'll bring in snacks so we don't have to buy the very expensive food.
ME ME ALL ANIMALS SHOULD LIVE THEIR FREE LIFE !!!!!
Amazing location. Loved walking around and meeting all of the animals. Would definitely come back again.
We went to see the new baby giraffe and the two new koalas! Everybody was sleeping, even the gorillas, but we could still see them. Always a good time at the zoo!
I m usually not supporting idea of animals behind cages but Santa Barbara Zoo is so organized, clean and very carrying for all animals in their zoo. I could see all workers gentle care and attention towards animals.
I had great time at Santa Barbara Zoo.
This is a very nice zoo, albeit small and VERY kid oriented. I'm from San Diego, though I don't assume all zoos will be the same as ours, we are very lucky. I look for animal care, enclosure, views/layout, staff, and price. I think the SBZ does all of them very well. The animals looked well cared for and enclosures well sized...given it's a zoo of course.
The staff are very happy with their zoo and the place speaks to their pride. Very clean, lots of open area. Almost like a zoo/park. They do a ton of activities with kids and families, and as such, they have huge park like areas for activities.
For the small area they are in, the have a good number/balance of animals and variety, and they are reasonably priced. We were only there for a couple hours, and probably would only take an hour if one was in a hurry. Lots of foliage, which breaks up the zoo well so it seems very inviting.
They do have keeper talks and feeding of the animals, and enrichment treats.
I love seeing the animals. Sad the elephants are not there
A very nice place, my daughters, you will love them ... we will be back soon
Incredible Saturday adventure! Always something new to see and do. Family membership is well worth the cost.
A fun place to spend a morning or afternoon, especially if you have a kid. Not exactly easy to find, maybe I'm used to living in places where Zoo Drive takes you right to the zoo. Off the beaten path or not, the prices are reasonable and it's not too daunting to walk the grounds.
It's the perfect spot to take small kids as it's small enough they'll see everything and not lose interest, but also big enough for my older "kids" to have a blast. There's so much fun for adults; velcro wall, rock wall, drinks, and the train.
Our families getaway whenever we can, despite the construction and lack of some animals...SB Zoo is always awesome . Kids and Wife love eating lunch here (Tinos Sandwiches)! Despite COVID everyone is conducting themselves really well...we have been members for the past three years and plan to continue.
Great little zoo. Takes about half day to see most of it. I think the playground is just as popular as the rest of the exhibits. Food and drink prices are steep but good deal on the year passes.
Always amazing my family and I have been members for 10 years. It's great! there is always something new to learn and see.
