The Sandbanks Hotel Review

Lovely mini break for my husbands birthday ( thanks for card and choc they were a lovely touch)
We had fantastic view, to the point slept with patio window and curtains open listening to the waves on the shore. Food was good quality and well organised with covid restrictions.

Location location location. Their terrace is world class. Even if you're not staying here drop in for a G and T overlooking the sea. Great place.

At first I was apprehensive but eventually came to lime the place.

Attended a networking event at the hotel, staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was lovely

Fantastic family rooms and great service. A little outdated but when you've got a 5 and 7 year old that's not a bad thing. The harbour view rooms are better than sea view as you get the sunset.

Great views. Attended a private party there. Well decorated. Expensive for drinks

Great location, dated rooms and bath rooms, good breakfast , poor dinner. Would of liked someone to of offered assistance not for me carrying two bags but for my sixty one year year old wife struggling with a case and a holdall. I would spend my money on the three rooms with my children and grandchildren in another hotel next visit.

Nice Hotel but the main reason I give it 4 Stars is because of it,s location, right on a beautiful stretch of Bournemouth beach.

Nice bar, pretty bad service. Repeating drinks orders and forgetting to bring food.

This is a lovely hotel. We haven't stayed overnight but have eaten here and food was amazing. The view of the beach is truly fantastic

Hotel use local youngsters for unpaid shift trials and then never make further contact. Skinflints!

Very happy with the room, nice Swan decoration on the bed. Room was clean and plenty of tea and biscuits. Breakfast was hot and tasty, service good. Reception friendly and efficient.

We love the Ocean Palace Chinese restaurant in this hotel. All staff are friendly and the food is exquisite.

Attended a works Christmas party at the sandbanks hotel. Table service was fantastic with food being bought out very quickly. Food was very nicely presented and tasted lovely. Wine that was provided as part of the package was of nice quality. Would definitely visit again.

Didnt stay here, visited for drinks on the beach terrace & had Sunday Lunch at The Carvery, fantastic Staff, Fantastic food, fantastic setting, highly recommend.

Location is spot on, clean and tidy and has a 5* feel without being pretentious

A beautiful hotel with the best sunset at the front of the hotel and the sunrise at the back of the hotel. Truely amazing! Would definitely stay there again.

Was shown great courtesy and a tour of various room styles, with a view to booking for a group. Lovely hotel, fabulous views over Poole Bay and over the sea towards Old Harry rocks.

Lovely rooms, helpful staff and generally great service! Very good location too! Swimming pool and sauna also available

Just a great place to be..... To people watch and to be by the sea.

Didn't stay here just dropped in for something to eat in their restaurant couldn't go in the restaurant as you have to book so I opted for the pizza on the beach Restaurant which has views out to the sea it's more like a bar where can order More

Had a lovely stay staff very pleasant location amazing veiw from room stunning very comfortable bed but other furniture and bathroom very dated rust on taps dirty grouting. We were allocated a family room but only 2 of us would stay again breakfast was okay but do prefer waitress service not a fan of cooked breakfast on hotplated.

Brilliant service, good selection of alcohol and food, nice ambience and incredible views.

Little bit dated, not as refined as the postcode may suggest. Had a Sunday overnight stay here on a Sunday Saver deal. Room OK, food very average. Would probably return on a Saver deal. Nothing special.

Having a fantastic time. Rooms are lovely, views wonderful and the pool is lovely and warm

Excellent. Good staff, first class facilities , excellent breakfast and a lovely room with balcony and a view over the harbour....

Looks like a run down buttons from the outside and inside needs some refurbishment. The staff are very pleasant and attend all your needs and the food is of very good quality. The overall experience was food it's just a shame it looks aweful

One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. My room was tiny and super ugly, I couldn't spend there 2 nights so I requested a change and got a larger one, with a nice view. The location of this hotel is marvellous - just at the beach, couldn't be better! But the hotel is in such a bad state - decayed, smelly, probably not renovated since decades!
On both my nights they had the Christmas parties, so restaurants were closed. The reception was so busy that I couldn't order room service. I was offered food in the bar - which was so crowded that I would have to queue for my meal for a long time! And I was told by the manager that I could have made a reservation in advance to secure a space...
The only thing that I can't complain about is the view from my window - right on the beach!!!

Dire, the post code and location may be premiere league but every thing else wouldn't even make the Sunday league.

The hotel is probably a kin to a 1 star B&B in the Costa Del Sol on a discounted winter weekend. Gents reminded me of a bucket of terries nappies or perhaps a cat litter tray. Butlins wouldn't allow the guest area to look like this place, wet table, crisps on carpet and empty menu stands.

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Staff were all very friendly and polite and food was excellent. Can't wait to go back for another stay.

Had a drink and cake in the sunshine, very nice freshly made apple cake and coffee to go with it with a great view over the beach

Fantastic hotel staff so friendly very clean wish we could of stayed longer had to move on stayed in hilton in bath not a patch on sandbanks rooms not half as good and find the staff so ignorant never again

Definitely recommend especially if your gluten free as dining staff very knowledgeable.

I attended the wedding of a family member and the setting of the hotel is idyllic, it was beautifully calm and open with great areas for the function. The bar/waiting staff could have been a bit more friendly and ready-to-help but it was great service overall! The hotel was clean, well set out and comfortable.

Food was lovely. Service very good. Would definitely return.

The room was nice, though we would bave prefered a fridge as well. The childrens buffet could be nicer but apart from that all else is great.

Stay here quite a bit for work, accommodation always good. But let down by food prices and size. Also drinks are over priced .

The hotel was fine and the majority of the service but some staff would justify a poor rating for food services

The position it occupies is the main reason. Good restaurants and rooms but furnishings starting to get tired.

Wires hanging out of the ceiling throughout corridors. and buckets positioned to collect leaks - it wasn t raining. Decor like something out of the 1980s and in need of redecorating desperately. Paid extra for a sea view but got a view of the car park. Overpriced and definitely overrated. Awful experience.

Amazing as usual! Staff superb, food fantastic, room very spacious and comfortable.

The staff were very hospitable, nice evening meals but the breakfast was a buffet so the time you got it to your table it wasn't very warm.

Bar service better today but food order took forever, was ignored when chasing it up.

Sandbanks hotel is a great hotel but its getting tired, rooms need a makeover the settee in our room had the stuffing coming out

I stayed here with family over the weekend for a function and had a very pleasant time. There were some initial issues with the room not having the child's bed and minifridge we'd requested but this was sorted very quickly - including removing a couch from the room to allow for more space. The rooms did feel a little tired and dated but were clean enough. The staff were exceptional - very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent with free parking on site and three EV charging bays. Booking a seaview room is definitely preferable. The harbour side rooms do offer good views too, but it's really lovely being able to hear the sea. The beach is also very easily accessible from the hotel and is clean and sandy.

Limited parking but nice facilities and restaurants with sea views.

Fantastic place! Recommend you visit if you get the chance. Book an odd-numbered room on the 1st floor for a balcony and great sea view...!

My husband came here for our honeymoon 19 years ago, sadly he passed away, a year ago, tony spent most of his childhood in poole,always wanted to come back to sandbanks , but ill health and work stopped us coming, but tony wish was when he died he wanted his ashes spreaded along bournemouth, which we did, and we booked a meal at sandbanks, where the service and food was excellent, thank you to all your staff that were brilliant.

Lovely setting though very disappointed that they could not provide an evening meal no places were available seems strange that a hotel cannot supply enough meals for the number of guests.

The situation is amazing with the beach right outside. Enjoyed exploring and a day out at Brownsea island

A very pleasant long weekend with a party of twenty in a group of fifty.

Upper class hotel with a fantastic bay view. 4 stars Hotel, with a variety of drinks ideal for weddings. It is quite expensive and you better book way in advance as it is a very popular place. On Summer days you can spend your time outside on the terrace and watch the sun go down over Poole Bay.

Dinner was amazing.. such a well organised dinner service. Food was tasty and lovely. Typical overpriced bar prices and a distinct sewerage smell lingering. A very enjoyable evening though.

Always a great break here, easier to reach than The Haven Hotel although view not as good. One problem - restaurant is sometimes just a buffet, but the attached Italian restaurant Amalfi is really good.

A bit too regimented for my liking. Decor and fittings dated but comfortable. Probably best in the summer.
