A lovely, welcoming place to eat and drink. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was top drawer. Atmosphere relaxed and comfortable. When I'm in Edinburgh again I will definitely revisit.

Fantastic food and great atmosphere. We were looking for pub food in the area and decided to stop in here and what we got was much better than we were looking for! Highly recommend grabbing a drink and dinner if you're in the area; you don't be disappointed.

The booking system on the phone is computerized and you don't talk to a person. This led to confusion when we arrived because I couldn't specify that not all people will have food (some were only there for drinks) and the staff couldn't handle this situation to our satisfaction.

Pleasant gastropub with nice lounge area and outside seating. Good quality beers and ciders and cocktails.

The indoor are is very nicely decorated place to have a drink and nibbles after walking in the queens park or just to stop on the way home. Very middle class.

Fantastic place to go for food. We were given a lovely space and there was even a dog bed for the dogs!

Food was a bit more expensive than most pubs but the quality was better accordingly so I can't complain.

It was a very nice experience. It was a 75th Birthday Lunch.Very good service and everyone enjoyed their meal.I don't have photos but there were a lot taken and some by a member of staff. We had a 1930s theme so was good fun.M.Parker.

The building itself is beautiful , stunningly decorated too. Sadly the food was a long wait in coming out the potions were small in comparison the higher price. No drinks were offered after our initial order being taken . The waitress though was lovely .

My wife and I was staying at the hotel across the road and because the is not a proper bar we decided to go to the Arms for a beer and to checkout the food menu, the ambiance inside was just what we were looking for and our Sunday roasts that we ordered were excellent, if we weren't going to the Xmas Market that night we would have stayed longer but we will return, thanks

Was there in August on a lovely summer day just chilling outside in the garden. Seemed very animal friendly as there were bowls of water out for pets. Would like to come back sometime when the firepit is lit and the barbecue going.

The site is very beautiful and cozy. It has a nice outdoor terrace. They have a good selection of beers. The menu is varied and the quantity on the plates is fine. It's not a cheap option but it's worth it. They admit children.

Yummy Sunday roast and lovely setting in both the restaurant and bar section which have the same menu available.
We visit as a group and keep coming back whenever we visit the city, highly recommended.

They made a major error with our reservation and did not recover from it well. Table was far too small. Portion sizes varied wildly, both between dishes and between plates of the same dish. Smoked salmon on cracker starter was about half the size of a debit card. Roast turkey included no vegetables. Nut roast had no garnish at all, was incredibly dry, and served without gravy. One of our party had to wait an additional 30 minutes for their dessert. Many other issues, too numerous to mention.

Lovely place to visit for a nice decent meal fancy or not - could be business dinner- but also a nice family outing.
Dog friendly and kids friendly!
The Christmas decorations were lovely and there is a nice cozy feeling you get by entering. The staff is very kind and helpful and smiley!
The meals were in good portions and quite tasty. The dirty burger was a big hit in our group- the three roasts was nice but not the best we ve had. Kids meals are ok for very little ones. The kids burger was tiny for the 6 year old in our group but the fish and chips was more than enough for our 5 year old!
The winner of course is always the sticky toffee pudding! We nearly got upset thinking it was not in the menu anymore confusing the vegan desserts menu with the regular one! Oh and by the way- ideal to visit if you re vegan!!!
Most importantly we enjoyed the fact that the children were free to roam and play in the entrance by the Christmas tree and no one came to tell them off. Very polite staff.
Of course we ll be back.
