Service for our Christmas meal here was very poor - long waiting and the staff were less than friendly. Innis and Gunn of the tap was clearly off, which I raised with bar staff and they said they will check it out but did not offer me a replacement. I also clearly stated an allergy to vinegar, in writing and confirmed verbally to get a burger with gherkin which has vinegar...

Very friendly staff, very accommodating. Very busy at the weekend, would recommend booking! Food was nice, was not such a fan of the thick cut double fried chips with my lovely battered fish, just made everything quite greasy so I would recommend getting the thin fries or sweet potato fries that my other guests enjoyed. Kids menu was good and suited our toddler well.

This place was a great find during my stay in Edinburgh. Ample parking first of all. The decor inside is rustic chic with a lovely ambience. Plenty of vegetarian options and a vegan menu. The food was delicious and the service was friendly. I would recomend.

Good food, but pescatarians beware: a weird number of perfectly good fish dishes are spoiled for us by the inclusion of small amounts of meat! (Maybe they'd have been happy to do fish-only variants; I didn't ask.)

I've only been in here for a few drinks so can't comment on food but the selection of beers and wine is very good. But the best thing about this pub by far and away is the amount of comfy seating and exterior seating.

Beautiful interior and a lovely atmosphere. The food was great and the melty chocolate bombe was very tasty.
The staff were attentive and we didn't feel hurried at all.
Dogs are welcome, wish I'd known this prior to the visit.
And although we didn't use it, the bar looks well stocked.
I will definitely go for a meal there again.

I really do not recommend this restaurant. I ordered the pasta with king prawn and chorizo and it was NOT good. it tasted like just boiled pasta. Besides, when we arrived the staff were very rude. We told them that two more people were coming (unexpected) and the waitress got upset and start nagging us. The place was basically empty.

Parking for patrons (unusual in Edinburgh). Attentive service, well appointed surroundings, food was good if not gourmet and at fair prices. I had a Sunday roast which could have been slightly rarer. The trimmings were nice except the greens were a little gritty and the rectangular plate meant it couldn't be turned. However that's being picky and the vanilla cheesecake was delicious and enormous. Great experience overall and would come again.

The furnishings, and decor are lovely. The food is a little on the pricey side, but you definitely get a quality meal for what you pay. The service is also very good, and staff are both welcoming, and friendly.

Looking for warm fires in winter with a dram, or fresh crisp decor and a cool beer in summer. This gastro pub is for you.

Choose from a cosy restaurant, less formal large bright and airy bar area or beer garden. You are sure to find something to match your mood party size or the Scottish weather.

With a menu to please most palates, meals consist of well presented fresh Scottish produce Rather than something pulled from a freezer.

No need to book for lunch but recommended for dinner, the arms has ample off street parking. Good public transport links to all areas of the city, are within easy walking distance.

Quiet place, ideal for going to lunch or dinner and taking your dog without problems. It also has an outside area for dining in the sun when it is there. The food is good but not excellent. The prices are not proportional to the food served ... something more on the plate would go there!

Venue is beautiful! Perfect for groups of casual dinners. Food is faultless. The fellow who seated us was very friendly. However staff serving us and at the bar were either openly rude or absent during service. And it spoilt the overall experience.

We where on vacation in Edinburgh. We went 2 evenings to this restaurant. Very kindly personal, very nice location - bar and restaurant.
We had burgers, which where ok. But starters and especially the sea bass was excellent. Somewhat expensive..

Triple roast chicken and pork was dry, beef was ok as cut fairly thick. Roast potatoes industrial, veg basic and gravy tasteless and watery..plate too small. Overall decor was good with parking. Might go again?

We became a regular at the bar, closing almost every evening with a nightcap while staying just down the road off Dalleith. The great hospitality of your staff, especially Ben, one of your bartenders made us fell so welcome and truly capped the great experience we had visiting Edinburgh. We hope to return one day.
Our many thanks and our best wishes to Ben in his endeavors.
