Should be in dry dock and covered.the Britannia is slowly rotting away at the quayside. Like most tourist attractions minimal money is spent on keeping her up to scratch. This is a monument to British history and should be preserved better. Our visit was enjoyable, but the Scots could do better.
I hope the People who run this attraction realise how lucky they are to have such a powerful icon. How they have won a award by the Scottish Tourism award for 13 years is beyond me,Cannot be a lot else in Scotland.

A very beautiful boat, you can appreciate the luxuries of the royal house but also the life on the high seas of the crew. 100x100 recommended. Taking bus 35 from the royale mile you will be in less than half an hour.

A very interesting visit. Through the halls of the Britannia you can explore forty years of history of the twentieth century, of England in particular, but since the events of the English royals are in the public domain, one does not feel disoriented. The ship is splendid and very well kept, crossing the different environments shows a cross-section of English society and its hierarchies. The route is excellently explained by an audio guide also in Italian, as always there are family cumulative tickets (2 adults + two children), the children's rate is still extended up to 17 years!
Besides the cultural visit there is no shortage of cotillons, free fudge tasting, tea room, nice souvenir shop. Attraction not to be missed. The entrance is in the giant shopping mall on the waterfront

The Royal Yacht Britannia is a wonderful piece of British maritime history. There is easy parking just beside the dock. The ship is accessed from within the shopping centre there. You can get a guided tour with a digital device which gives a great but concise history of the ship and the signs give a clear route around all decks. There is also a lovely tea room on board.

We couldn't go to Edinburgh without visiting Her Majesty's Yacht Britannia, and we were not disappointed. The self-guided audio tour was excellent, allowing everyone time to absorb the beautiful environment at a pace they choose. If you've not been, add it to your "Bucket List" it's well worth a visit. So much to see!

This is a very interesting visit, and good value too. Enjoy a journey into history!
The ship decks are accessed on several levels, and the route is well signed to give the most logical tour of the vessel, commencing at the bridge and concluding in the engine room. I d say around two hours are necessary to absorb everything.
The guides are very knowledgeable and friendly and are very pleased to answer any queries.
The cafe on board is well organised and quality snacks are available- the prices certainly aren t excessive and the staff are charming.
I was pleased to be able to park right outside the shopping centre entry point which made my visit easy.
Do make an attempt to visit the Yacht - I m certain you wouldn t be disappointed, and it s good to learn about its contribution to Great Britain.
If I was to make any suggestion, I d like to see more of the vessel opened up! I ll be back in the near future for my third visit.

Very detailed audio tour of the ship. Polite staff and great facilities. Good gift shop also. It is a fair walk from the city centre so would recommend either a taxi or bus if you don't have access to a car.

This is the best tourist item I did when in Edinburgh. It's so well organised and really interesting. You can move through at your own pace and I was really impressed by how buggy-friendly it was. I would highly recommend this for a great couple of hours of tourism!

This was a really interesting visit. The staff were so helpful throughout. The tour lets you see a large proportion of the vessel. The lunch in the restaurant was very good. Overall a really enjoyable experience.

The HMY Britannia is a wonderful ship with an incredibly interesting and fascinating history, which is really shown by the wonderful exhibition and the attention to detail of the Royal Yacht Britannia Trust.
The tour that leads through many rooms in the original style, or at least as much as possible based on the original, is really impressive.
I could describe for hours how great this entire museum is, but I recommend anyone who is even slightly interested in such an exhibition to visit this ship and the rooms where the royal family once lived on their travels and heads of state of all imaginable countries and went out to visit.
It is definitely a very special experience and my visit today will not have been the last visit on board HMY Britannia.

Visit enjoyed by all the family ranging from 7 year old to 65 year old. They have a different audio tour for young children. Individual handsets allow you to enjoy the tour at your own pace.

A fantastic day out .. SHE being so close to the family ( my grandfather was on her first commission ) we were delighted that she was looking at her prime the yachts company and all have done a wonderful job in keeping her looking great .. in the day 250 men would of been doing everything . And now it's down to only a couple handfuls .. a personal note to the Matlow who took a jolly to show my self and my wife to the parts my grandfather worked at ( off normal public route ) thank you very much . You made my day . This is a ship the nation should be proud of . And I can say on behalf of my grandfather CPO JOHN BREWER RN , RFA ,. YOU ALL HAVE A TOTT . JOB WELL DONE .

A big ship, there is a shopping mall next to it. If you want to enter the boat, you have to pay for the tickets, but if you just want to see the boat, shopping mall has a big window to watch.

Definitely a worthwhile sight in Edinburgh. Fascinating insight into the luxury afforded the queen and the royal family while at sea. A definite must for any British royalty enthusiast.

Very good family day out with most interests catered for.
The Yacht is very wheelchair friendly with lifts and ramps for ease of access.

The site is open daily from 9.30am until 4.30pm and has excellent catering facilities and wheelchair accessible toilets.
There is a free car park in the Ocean Terminal which connects the site.

Enterance fees are as follows.

Do take advantage of the free audio tour if you wish to look around at your own pace.

Well worth a second visit in my opinion.

The Queen's giant yacht ... decommissioned today with an enormous history ... Interesting to see. With Rolls Royce on the deck ... the interior is regal, solid and very impressive. The dinghies and the sailing yacht of the royal family, with which many prizes have been won, can also be seen. It is worth the visit .... I will definitely do it again when I am in Scotland

A great day out. The audio guide, which is included in the price, is informative and interesting and means you can wander round at your own pace. Plenty of staff on hand if you have any questions. The tea room is quite expensive for what it is, I imagine the queen would want a more generous portion of clotted cream on her scones!

I had a marvellous trip round Brittania, so much history not only of Royalty but of the crew and traditions. There is an audio talk as you go round and lots of staff to guide you. My only problem was how packed it was because I walk with a stick I got a bit buffeted.
