The Royal Hotel Comrie Reviews

Dropped in this small hotel for a coffee on Monday before Christmas Eve, it was deadly quiet but warm welcomed by member of staff young guy who knew how to make us stay, we asked for non-dairy lattes and maybe something quick to bite, like an egg roll but kitchen only working from 12. Came back to us saying chef will make rolls for us no problem and they can provide almond milk for our coffee. This effort made a difference as we then considered staying a night there in future for a weekend or so. 4 stars only because rolls were served cold

Was not allowed in due to being there at hogmanany, only residents are allowed inside at the time !
Hogmanany celebrations outside thou are great , great way to bring in the bells

Superb lunch and dinner, the chef was very accomodating, and our special diets Gluten free and dairy free were sorted without any problems

Loved our stay here despite the current restrictions, the staff were amazing and did everything possible to help, room was spotless anf food was good.

Really good well run hotel. I stopped off to have some dinner on the way home and was really impressed. Service was very good and efficient and the food was terrific, cooked to perfection and well presented. I would highly recommend dining here.

A Nice location in a picturesque village but the hotel has seen better days it was clean and friendly and the staff were helpful I would recommend this place for a cosy romantic weekend away

Dropped in to Royal Bar after a cold winter climb with friends, friendly bar, not too busy, warm charcoal burning stove was very welcome. Easy access to a good traditional bar.

Food was nice but my meal said Cod and I am sure it was Haddock

I wont be visiting here again in the forthcoming future.
Staff are unable to offer a quality of service & only one staff member to serve behind the bar,take food orders & deal with reception/bookings too .
The food is average & very expensive tbh for what you get. Very limited dessert menu and no special board on display. There's not much variety and it's very disappointing .
A real let down for being the only Hotel/public bar in the centre/heart of Comrie. .

terrific stay I #loved it. great wine; and as a common wine drinker I would know lol. as I have no friends and all my family hate me I came alone :( . However the staff made me feel at home and welcome x

Have visited this lovely hotel and bar many times. The restaurant is one of the nicest to be found in this area. It is quality and unique and the staff are very passionate about their work. Another magical experience. Can't wait until next time

Great afternoon spent in the beer garden of this quaint bar located to the rear of the hotel, off a really quiet lane. Dogs are welcome!

Enjoyed lovely pot of coffee served with jug of hot milk, excellent, with plate of shortbread biscuits in comfortable lounge/library room.

Enjoyed a one night stay here and it did not disappoint. Comfortable room, and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Steak was cooked to perfection, and staff were very attentive.

Nice restaurant, in a lovely town. Food was really nice, if a little overpriced but the staff were accommodating and I'd recommend eating here.

The food was delicious and the staff is very attentive. We had dinner and it seems a good option to hold events and parties.

While staying overnight in the area and seeking somewhere to enjoy our evening meal we saw the hotel online and loved the idea of the tipi and al fresco dining. Every effort was made during these difficult covid times to make our visit More

A venue to suit everyone, back bar and games room leading to the beer garden and a lovely lounge bar in the hotel, all dog friendly. Separate restaurant if required. Food and some local beers excellent.

Great night had by one and all in the pub just a lovely weekend old fashioned pub and friendly locals

Popped in here for a coffee after doing a walk in the area and didn't enjoy the visit. The staff were lovely but the instant coffee was expensive and not good.

In comrie for a few days hotel bar was very nice

Bar was great after a day of hiking in terrible weather. The log fire kept us nice and warm.

Service 8 out of ten my food my food 9 out of ten others food 7 out of ten .A poor fish and chips scoring very low but good ice cream.Atmosphere 5 very quiet

Great pub in the separate building just up from the main entrance. Nice beer garden but more of a pub than a family place.

I was in for lunch and was disappointed with the quality of service and food. It s a shame that the standards of this establishment have dropped so dramatically. I will not be returning and definitely wouldn t recommend it

Food was delicious, beer garden absolutely beautiful on a sunny day. Kids and dog were allowed into beer garden while husband was inside watching footie so we chilled outside in the sun.

Sadly seen better days. I hope it suirvives the current woes and a bit of TLC is applied to the interiors.

Great staff casual place to have a drink and something to eat by bar or warm yourself by the fire in the libery. Head round the back for a more lively evening at the pub.

Beautiful dinner at Royal Hotel.Obviously dog friendly,2gorgeous black labs snuggled under tables.Hickory hot smoked salmon followed by the biggest Eton mess ever had more than compensated for the rain.

Lovely place but service slow . Food ok but not exceptional

The Barman Chris was top class! We had just walked over the hills from Callender-16 miles and were tired. Chris made sure we had a warm welcome with great beer and knowledge about local facilities

This was one of two hotels we stayed in while visiting the area, it was by far the better one. The hotel was spotless and much attention was given to keeping guests safe during their stay. I would definitely recommend this place as a comfortable stay during this period and will surely return before long.
The teepee in the garden is a great idea to serve food and drinks. Hats off to the staff keeping everything tip top during such a difficult period. 10/10

Room and bathroom impeccable. Very charming. Too bad the restoration part is not at the same level, it spoils the whole.

Fabulous Hogmany 2018 in Comrie. High spot how attentive and customer focused staff in Royal Hotel are. Wonderful start to a new year. Definitely a place to visit again

Nice coffee but totally ripped of for the small piece of shortbread we had. It was such a big hassle when we asked for something to go with the coffee

Excellent gardens in Perthshire. Much more French/Italian than Scottish.....
