I went to see the legal adviser and received full details, information package, and how to put legal documents in to the Sheriff's office and what to expect following my legal claim. I recommend that anyone needing advice on anything should go to the CAB, you may miss out on claims, legal, housing situations etc. I found that I got a lot more important information than I realized I needed to go to court.

Absolutely hopeless. First attended a meeting with them for to help with my Mother's pension credit, they claimed she wasn't entitled to Pension credit when in fact she was and is now in receipt of (thank you Shelter).

2 years later we tried them again for help with housing. They did contact the council on one occasion for us, but didn't bother to follow it up as promised, despite us calling for updates.

I've now just returned home after being turned away by them today (I never learn). They no longer help with appeals to benefit decisions, despite them telling me over the phone to come in for an appointment to discuss my appeal. This seems ridiculous, since i'm assuming appeals makes up a large part of benefit related issues people need help with.

So what do you help with CAB? I'm yet to find it.
