Great tour for a cheap price. Very informative. Souvenir glass is really nice. Highly recommend for a day out with friends.
The pour-over was very well done and the cupping was a fun experience.
Fun excursion early morning for Kansas City's top coffee company. Open M-F 7-6, Sat 8-6 and Sun 9-6. But go anytime for a pick-up of cold brew coffee and a tour of the production of great coffee.
Cafe, Gift Shop and Factory. Great tour for families and people of all ages.

The Roasterie is a specialty coffee company serving the discerning coffee connoisseur. We re committed to buying the best beans we can find in the world, roasting them the best way known to man (air-roasting), and delivering them as fast as humanly possible. Our iconic DC-3 logo represents all three of these commitments: our worldwide supply network, our innovative use of air, and our speedy delivery.
Ordered a White Russian and it was very good. Great host for the Cadillac Car show.
Awesome coffee. Learned a lot about coffee during the guided visit. It's free by the way.
Short tour of the roasting operation is available. Very nice staff who is very dedicated to making the best coffee they can. Broad selection of blends and roasts. Amazing nitrogen infused cold brew.
Latte had chunks in it, owner came up and was totally rude. Maybe he should focus more on paying his parking ticket and hating police than being a jerk to customers. Oh wait, he does.
We did a tour of the Roasterie and it was so fun! The tour guide was very informative and the coffee was awesome. The tour is free and includes coffee samples! You also get 10% anything in the store for doing the tour. We did a flight of a coffee prepared three different ways. Wonderful weekend fun!
Awesome roasterie tour and great coffee with great prices!
Just patronized a delicious 8oz cup to go of Sweet Mocha Madness from this tantalizing Barista Extraordinaire of The Roasterie Cafe Factory.
A great place to meet up after dinner or to just hang out with a great cup of coffee. :)
Great coffee shop!
Loved the airplane ambiance!
Laurie and I tried our first ever coffee flight with Sumatra Mandheling brewed 3 different ways. Incredible! Erin did a great job educating us about the 3 different techniques as well as the coffee. She is a TRUE barista! Well done! Good show!
Based on recommendations by super knowledgeable and friendly staff, Megan and Erin, we selected a couple coffees to try at home. Really really really wanted to try the Ethiopian Natural but they were out.
Our only disappointment was arriving too late for a tour but we'll for sure visit again next time we're in KC!
I ve never cared for Roasterie coffee. I d drink it if it was all a restaurant had, but it s not coffee that I would make a special trip to drink. There is much, much better coffee in Kansas City.
And now that the owner of the Roasterie (Danny O neill) publicity degraded law enforcement due to his own asinine failure to tag his luxury car, I wouldn t drink his sludge if it was the only coffee left on earth.
What a jerk.
I love thier coffee. The tour was awesome too. If you want to try some of the absolute best coffee ever, try thiers. You won't be dissatisfied by any means, and they make the absolute best nitro coffee ever.
It is a great place to learn about roasting coffee and different ways to brew coffee. I recommend a flight of coffee using the same beans but brewed 3 different ways
Best coffee in KC. Local company importing the best coffee beans from all over the world and roasting them in the best possible manner.
Neat place to visit, and interesting things to see. The coffee is amazing with tons of choices. I enjoyed a nitro cold brew.
i just recently tried the kansas city blend at the world war 1 museum and it was the best coffee i have ever had. Finally bought some ITS the best ever, will never change thanks roasterie
Pleasant place to sit and enjoy your favorite morning Brew. Excellent selections and best part is the Tour if you have time
Wonderful cold brew. We were traveling and our friends sent us here. It was really very good and worth the stop for sure.
Very laid-back atmosphere with great staff. Quality coffee and munchies. Wifi also makes it a great place to have a small meeting.
I love coming to the Roasterie Cafe, very relaxing atmosphere.
We took the tour of The Roasterie in KC on a Saturday morning. Learning about coffee was a great way to start the day. How the whole process works was very interesting and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this free tour and then getting some coffee in the cafe after.
A great place for BBQ. Nice environment. A little bit upscale from most BBQ restaurants. The food is in my opinion excellent. BBQ lovers have different tastes, but this was perfect in my opinion. Not too spicy or too sweet. Meat tender and just enough fat for excellent flavor. Beans and coleslaw are perfection. I highly recommend.
Okay, my wife, who hates coffee, was drinking black coffee at the Roasterie. That is how amazing their coffee is! The tour was really fun and interesting, the tasting really opened our eyes to the number of different ways coffee can be prepared, and how that effects the taste. We will definitely come back whenever we are in KC.
I went on a week day morning and ordered a late. The service was fast, the coffee was delicious and the space was cool. I drove past it the first time, not realizing it was on a side street.
I frequently visit the factory location to see familiar faces, write, and browse their coffee or coffee accessories. This location is one of the things which drew me to Kansas City in the first place!
Great Coffee and great fun! Come hang out, or come to see the tour of their production line.
Very friendly educated staff. Relaxed vibe. Very light environment great for small groups or to do work with "background" noise. Well set up patio and lounge area. Unique drink menu.
Sign up for the tour if you like coffee, you'll love it!
The atmosphere was the aroma of beautiful smelling coffee. The coffee tasted wonderful. And the staff is very pleasant.
10 stars if I could! GREAT ATMOSPHERE.... Lots of KC pride the minute I walked in and very helpful staff while i was there. The coffee is way above expectations... watch out Starbucks if they franchise! GREAT parking. Would highly highly recommend!!!!!
Best coffee I've ever had! Fresh roasted everyday and they have an amazing staff.
Very bright, EXCELLENT SERVICE. Great hot chocolate. This is the morning place for kc.
Amazing coffee and a great staff, I will definitely be back.
Really great spot for coffee. Great spot to tour if you have time.
Love this place, great coffee and fantastic products to make coffee. Now I'm wired for the afternoon, need to drink a lot of water
Great coffee and unique options at the cafe. The factory tour and tasting was fantastic! Tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable.
Best $5 I've spent all year! Fun little tour with great info about coffee and its origins. Cassie was a great tour guide. Approximately 45 min to 1 hour tour. Souvenir glass AND hairnet included in $5 price!
Love the vibe and the brews. Especially the white mocha.
When I asked for a description/comparison of the two pour overs offered (because there weren t any written) neither barista could describe them, only giving a vague answer that they were both light roasts.
Took mother in law for tour as she is a huge coffee nut. Overall good experience. They were not producing that day so the factory wasn't active. Provided a lesson in brew techniques. Not a bad way to spend an hour downtown. Right by Boulevard Brewery for those that would do a 2 in 1 afternoon.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff! Tasty drinks and yummy pastries!
I bought the $30 tour for my mom, sister and I as a gift for my mom. Something we could do together blah, blah, blah. It's a beautiful place and the girl who was our "guide" was knowledgeable but that's all I can say that is nice. There was no factory tour. There was an hour of coffee history and at no point during this lesson was there any coffee. The last 30 minutes was spent learning how to make a pour over coffee. It was at this point we each got a shot glass size of coffee. If you want to take a Roastarie tour, do not take any more than the basic one. Easily the worst $100 I've spent.
I absolutely love this this place! The tour is highly recommended! 5 Stars all around!
Very fun tour and tasting session. I went on a Saturday morning tour, and it wasn't too busy. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The coffee taste demonstration at the end was very interesting.
The coffee was good and the atmosphere ok. Seating not really suitable for such a place. It could be a lot more comfortable. If you want coffee to go, it is great. If you want to have a chat with a friend you may want to consider else where.
Take the tour. Buy some coffee. This place is great.
Took the tour, loved it! Would recommend to any coffee lover in the KC area. Taking my Betty's recipe coffee back to Texas with me.
What a fun tour!!!
Cassie the guide was great, Very informative!!!
Informative and interesting tour. Sound could be a bit better on the intro video.
Kansas City's own brand of coffee, while well-known and locally loved, is "just okay" coffee. Come for the atmosphere and the Gift Shop.
Beautiful place, offers tours of the roasting facility and coffee classes, great little cafe too.
Roasterie has a nice cafe at the front of their roasting facility. Of all their cafes in KC, this is probably the location with the most consistency and highest quality.
Had a great time on the tour. At the end we even made some coffee to drink. I recommend this to everyone who has an hour or two.
We love this place! It's so fun! The aroma when you walk in makes me melt. All the options and seasonal items are amazing. Here are a few photos over the last 5 year's of enjoying going!
Tasty fresh coffee and relaxed well lit atmosphere.
Best coffee.. EVAR!
Full Vengeance & Dark Mojo, are the ish!
Came in on a Sunday and I should have figured the factory was shut down
Visiting from out of town, and discovered this gem! Really cool vibe and great coffee. Love the concept of seeing how coffee beans are handled. Like the airplane theme as well.
Local Appreciation
It always amazes me how many local businesses Kansas City has that offers wonderful products. The Roasterie features Air-Roasted Coffee made right here in the Show Me State. A tour at the 27th street location, offers insight into the history of this long time Kansas City favorite.
It amazes me how those who go after their dreams, do so with gusto and determination. That s what happened with Danny O Neill in November 22,1978 when he picked his first coffee beans in Costa Rica as a foreign exchange student. You ll learn the history that went into developing his coffee brand in his Brookside home years later.
With his ongoing mission statement to choose the best beans, sourcing them from the local farmers who own and operate their own farms in thirty plus countries, you will see the process that goes into choosing and processing those green beans into air-roasted beans. The tour includes learning about the cupping process and later, sampling cold brew, nitro cold brew as well as how to make French press and drip method coffee.
Overall: Although I m not a coffee drinker, I enjoyed the history behind this Kansas City favorite, with the cool DC-3 aircraft that s named after Danny s mom, Betty. The Roasterie serves tea, my favorite, Wild Berry.
Very facinating and educational. I learned more about coffee in 45 minutes than I've known my whole life. I really enjoyed the demo at the end with two brewing methods; it was neat to discover how the different methods impacted the taste of the coffee.
I love the coffee here. Better coffee and atmosphere than the bitter bean chain place just up the street.
Amazing cafe. Great coffee. Great desserts. Great staff.
Very cool place to visit while in KC. We enjoyed every drop of our delicious coffee. Unique, bold, and smooth. Highly recommend!
The tour was fantastic. It was really informative and the guide was great. The best part was the sampling at the end - same coffee, two different preparation methods, and two remarkably different tastes. I had no idea the preparation method would make that big of a difference!
First time here while I'm in town visiting KC. The service was so exceptional (shout out Anna and Annika) that I just had to sit down and write a review! Beautiful architecture, free parking, and GREAT SERVICE!
Coffee is good. I regularly get beans to take home.
