Half day sea kayaking August 2018...
Fantastic morning sea-kayaking for our family of five complete beginners (2 adults and kids age 13, 10, 10). All the equipment needed was included in the price, and double kayaks were available so our youngest two could paddle with an adult. Pete and Lyn are friendly, patient and experienced instructors, and everyone in the family was very quickly able to relax and enjoy the beautiful coastline during the trip. This experience was definitely the highlight of our holiday, and I wouldn't hesitate to book another adventure with The Real Adventure Company.

We had an absolutely fantastic afternoon with the Real Adventure Company coasteering as a family group with kids aged 7, 8, 9 and 10. Pete and his team are really professional and reassuring and all the kit was high quality. We knew we were in safe hands which gave us all the confidence to venture out of our comfort zones and have a really exhilarating experience.

Great guiding and excellent equipment. Really enjoyed coasteering and kayaking - very comfortable kayak and easy to paddle.

Pete was a great guide, and was able to pitch the level perfectly for our family group of 5. We had mixed abilities and fears, but we were able to do everything he said we would, and speaking as the slowest in the group I didn't feel like I was holding up the fun for everyone else. Can't recommend this enough, hoping to go back and do this again in the future. Pete's knowledge of the area is really detailed, and he was able to find a spot where there was nobody but us, which really added to the sense of being in the wilderness, and yet in safe hands. Also worth noting that Pete takes stacks of photos and sends them to you after the event, all included in the cost (not sure that other companies do this?).

Had a fantastic family trip with guide Kelly, his knowledge of the coast, sea conditions and weather ensured our safety and enjoyment as it was very windy!
We explored the coves and caves around Fishguard and we were accompanied by a grey seal swimming alongside the kayaks which was superb.
Highly recommend this company - great quality equipment wetsuits/ buoyancy aids etc and a great experience.

We had a great morning sea kayaking and found Pete to be a good instructor who provided encouragement and pushed us in the right places. Great local knowledge and an ethos of doing what s right not focusing on sales.

I contacted a number of different kayaking/coasteering companies in the area, explaining what I wanted to do and Pete was most accommodating, friendly and also happened to be the cheapest. Myself and my friends had a great time and would love to do it again next time we visit Pembrokeshire. In fact, we'd probably also like to stay on the campsite that Pete also runs on the same land as the adventure company to avoid driving. Highly recommended!

What a fantastic day. We went coasteering for my daughter's 8th birthday and had the time of our lives. We had four children in total (aged 8 and 10) and four parents.

Pete was the most amazing guide : super kind, adventurous, incredibly knowledgeable, enthusiastic, amazing with the kids. He clearly loves his job and beautiful Pembrokeshire.

I can't speak more highly of The Real Adventure company, we've had two fantastic mornings sea kayaking with Pete & learned some vital skills! The whole set up, including the kit which was provided was top notch. We learned about the ever changing sea, what to look out for when we start our own, unguided adventures, how to stay safe, how to check conditions before setting off and recognising changes whilst out on the water.
We saw some wonderful sights including some magnificent bird life and an unexpected visit from an inquisitive seal.

Just book and you'll be thrilled. The best birthday adventure we could have hoped for. Pete made this a very special day kayaking, snorkelling and coasteering (climbing up rocks and hurling yourself into the water). Pete coached and encouraged us to develop a technique not to injure ourselves and we kayaked along the coastline, into crevices and between rocks before setting down in a deserted beach for our lunch. Followed by snorkelling and finding crabs, he was so knowledgeable about sea life, jelly fish and snow cones. Highlight was "happy birthday" sung by my family.at the back of an awesome magically lit cave, We then took to climbing and jumping pushing everyones comfort zones. Pete took tons of photos so we had no worries we'd miss anything and delivered them to us the next day. We didn't stop smiling all day. Thank you so much Pete.

Had the most amazing morning with Pete Coasteering with my boys. I could not recommend it more highly. Pete is a legend.

Had a great day out yesterday wit Pete and Lyn. We went coasteering along the coastline at St Nons and I have to say I never felt safer in the sea. Very easy going instructors with a great sense of safety and how to approach people. The equipment was great, very clean, tidy and modern. I quite happily rate this company as outstanding, it cant get much better than that.

I had the best weekend with these guys! We camped in the tipis at their campsite and did a surf lesson. I've had a few surf lessons before and this was by far the best. Lessons I've previously had were more interested in getting people standing on the boards however this lesson spent time learning how to control the board and taught various techniques of how to stand. They also taught that just riding the board is actually surfing which made those in the group who couldn't stand, feel much better about it! The weather was perfect, the beach was beautiful and the guys were lovely! Thank you!!

This was the best bit of our already brilliant week in Pembrokeshire! Our guide and the owner Pete was fantastic; experienced, knowledgeable and fun! He took time to help me out (it was our first time coasteering) and we had a great time jumping in and finding little whirlpools to crash around in. We also learnt a great deal about the wildlife from Pete's extensive knowledge of the area. All the equipment provided is high quality and we even got a lift down to the rocks in the mini bus. I'd recommend this to anyone thinking of doing coasteering who is feeling a little nervous, don't be, it's great! There are a few companies to choose from in the area; we found this one the best as it was a better price, there was transport down to the beach- so more time in the water and Pete was so passionate and experienced, we got a more bespoke coasteer than bigger companied could provide. Thank you so much for a great day! Go for it!

We had an awesome time sea kayaking with Pete. He was professional and really passionate about what he does. We were really well looked after and felt safe in his hands. We had a proper adventure exploring more remote areas of the epic Pembrokeshire Coast. Pete gave us excellent tuition and we felt we greatly improved our technique over the day. We even saw a seal, which was the icing on the cake!

Went on a coasteering trip with them, absolute excellent experience! well organized, super competent and friendly, safe yet fun route planning. All perfect, I can highly recommend!

Pete and his instructors are professional and experienced and were fantastic with our group (all 19 of them!), engaging with them right from the start so that they all had a fun filled morning. Loads of rock jumping, swimming into a cave and the highlight at the end a 4m or 6m jump! Would definitely recommend The Real Adventure Company for future events, especially if you are thinking of a team building session or just to see the beautiful coastline of Pembrokeshire, Pete and his team will look after you and take you to the best places.

Our group of 5 booked two sessions with The Real Adventure Company - first a morning of coasteering and secondly, a lesson learning to surf. Both mornings were a great success and thoroughly enjoyed by all of us. We loved every moment! Pete was very professional, bringing an air of confidence, empathy and sense of fun along with extensive knowledge of the coastline, the weather and sea conditions. Equipment was great and we felt safe and looked after. We would highly recommend the company and would love to go back to do more another time.

Fantastic company, I have been coastering twice over the past years with Pete and his colleagues. They handle large and small groups well and keep everyone safe. They take great pride in what they do, and make sure the experience is what you want to it be. Our second trip was a completely different landscape to the first and no doubt a third trip will be new surroundings too.

I booked with Pete to do Sea Kayaking, Coasteering and Surfing over three days. I am completely new to all of these activities so had no idea as to whether or not i could actually do them or even enjoy them. I had the time of my Life! This is mainly down to Pete and his leadership. He made me feel completely relaxed and comfortable whilst in a potentially very dangerous environment. He challenged me to do things that I never thought I could. The locations were picked so that we could enjoy the best of the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline. Pete did a "recce" every morning to make sure that the weather conditions would allow us to go out. Because Pete is not restricted by a corporate mentality it means that you will have a Real Adventure and be left with the most amazing sense of achievement. Pete takes loads of photos along the way and these are a great reminder of three of the best days I have ever had. Thank you so much and see you next year!

If you are looking to coasteer, surf, kayak, explore and/or adventure when you visit the St David s area then look no further than the Real Adventure Company. Pete is exceptional from first contact to post event photographs and provides really personalised and bespoke events.
This year (our second visit to Real Adventure Company) our three children (young teens) surfed with Pete for an afternoon providing them with the confidence, required knowledge and ability to hire surf boards and enjoy the surf on their own. Our son particularly enjoyed surfing and was really pleased with the top tips Pete was able to pass on to him.
As a family we had an amazing kayak activity day around the Pembrokeshire coast, visiting waterfalls, coves inaccessible by foot, viewing wildlife in and out of the water, understanding the geology and history of that bit of coastline and trying out a few cliff jumps along the way.
From first email contact, Pete listened to the sort of things we wanted to do as a family and came up with some great options. Pete responded to all correspondence promptly and efficiently and instilled confidence from the outset. Pete has a lovely manner with all age groups and has a certain gravitas, patience and presence which is great with teenagers. Pete is very experienced with respect to the activities and safety but also from an educational perspective and helping people learn in their own way. He is extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding area and it is really interesting hearing about the cultural, environmental and marine aspects of Pembrokeshire during your days out.
Pete takes an amazing photo journal of your experience which he sends to your after the event via a link. The photos are not only far superior than the ones most people would be able to take but also allows you to really enjoy the experience first-hand rather than through a lens. Pete s solution provides the best of both worlds and I m enjoying revisiting the photographs several months after our trip. We also coasteered with Pete a couple of years ago and the kids made one of those photographs into a mouse mat for me for Christmas so I get to see everyone s happy coasteering smiles every day!
If you are after an adrenalin boost and/or an exclusive explore of the flora and fauna of the Pembrokeshire coastline, Real Adventure Company should be your first port of call!

My first review!
I am a little late writing my review but better late than never!! We coasteered as a family during a holiday to Pembrokeshire in August. We have an adventurous 12 year old and 10 year old twins. Peter was absolutely fabulous in every way. He is very knowledgeable in both the flora and fauna of the area and the coasteering activity itself. He judged the children's limits perfectly so they were challenged but safe and we had a fantastic morning with even some sunshine. As winter sets in we have some fantastic photos that Pete took on his waterproof camera to remind us of our great time in Pembrokeshire. We would highly recommend Pete and his small personal company. Had a fantastic morning, we were lucky enough that the weather was beautiful. 6 of us aged from 12 to 45 (+ 1 small furry dog aged 2yrs) Sea Kayaked around a part of the Pembrokeshire coast under the guidence of our superb and knowledgeable instructor Pete. Really enjoyable for those that consider themsleves unadventurous or not too fit as well.
