Good food and service. Prices reasonable garden needs ro mature but great start. Appearnce from road needs colour through wibdow boxes or hanging baskets. Would definitely
Recommend
Over priced bookers food. Not so impressed. Small portions big price. Nice garden though
Food was absolutely stunning and generous portions too, the service was good too.
Really good Sunday roast. Staff were a little too busy for amazing service, but it was good nonetheless.
Disappointed, nice place good breakfast, but the shower could not be used, far too hot. Also charged room for drinks we didn't have. Sad really.
Excellent food in the restaurant, with a cosy traditional pub ambience in the bar, "The Shed" a smartly refurbished outbuilding serve coffee and cake. Well worth a visit.
Very nice room. OK breakfast with no sweet options, only savory.
Lovely meal, I had the salmon and crushed potatoes and it was cooked to perfection. Well presented. Staff were all wearing masks and very attentive. There was a bit of a wait for the first course but it was quite busy. We went on an eat out to help out as they are doing it in Sept rather than Aug. Would have been quite pricey otherwise. Would eat there again, nice atmosphere and lovely beer garden although we didn t sit outside.
Half an hour wait for a coffee. Then couldn't make it!!! Won't be going back. Terrible service. No one knew what they were doing. Running round but not getting things done. Headless chickens spring to mind.
Superb old building serving good food by very friendly staff. Will definitely be back.
Good location, attractive country pub, but staff knew little about beer and gave incorrect advice to customer
Cosy hotel. Stopped by for a drink. Friendly owner, nice fire to sit by after a cold wall! Plenty of parking. Great location when visiting tge Cotswolds countryside. Relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely stay here next time we are over that way.
Great atmosphere. Staff friendly and helpful. Pimms great. Fish and chips good as was house burger. Would recommend the food and general ambiance.
Stayed for several days, awesome experience of the English Country Side. Nice little bar inside, and the food was very good. Overall a very good value. Only thing I would have liked is a fan in my room- It was hot a night on the second floor.
Very comfortable, and a good value.
Loved this BnB and restaurant/bar. Looking for a halfway stopover in the way to Cornwall and this little treasure was the result. Brand new overnight rooms small but do well thought through with all mid cons lovely shower dressing gowns and very comfortable bed. Breakfast was well cooked full English other options available. Cereals coffee tea. Just missed having my yoghurt and soft fruits. Excellent.
Lovely place. So glad we stayed here. First class service, great food and rooms very clean and comfortable. A beautiful place to stay in a beautiful area. Will definitely come back.
Very disappointing stay at Ragged Cot last night, due to under staff unable to have an eve meal when I booked in, so went to a local pub and ate, this morning a fire alarm went off and only appeared to be one member of staff about who was serving breakfast, so she had to sort alarm and no one to serve breakfast, room was outstanding, the rest terrible service
Excellent venue, really helpful and welcoming staff, plenty of free parking and scrumptious breakfast. Highly recommended!!!
what a terrible place, i wouldnt board my dog here.
i had a birthday celebration and with two guests decided to trat ourselves to dinner.....BIG MISTAKE.
I was refused a yorkshire pudding on the grounds that " it doesnt go with a roast pork dinner ".
More seriously, an elderly vegetarian lady with serious food allergies , having been told that we were to ask for the chef, who would supply a special dish, normally used as a starter.
However, even though we did request to see the chef, this was denied and we were told that we would have to have " whats on the menu ".
I rang to complain, next day and was put on to the manager who said his name was SAM, who, after listening to my complaint , suggested that if i didnt like their service, then i "could consider eating elsewhere"
i have another celebration coming up at the end of july and i will be going out to dinner......not at the ragged cot though.
i think the service there is similar to that of fawlty towers and the manager " Sam " should be replaced immediately.
AVOID THE RAGGED COT IS MY ADVICE.
Popped in for a pint after a hard day's work and had the best bacon sandwich ever! Lovely pub, friendly staff
Very posh. Great place for couples but absolutely no good for families.
Great food and beer. Njce surroundings. I've stayed overnight before and it was very comfortable.
Fabulous food...beautiful place. It was sour second visit and won't be the last
Second visit in three years, rooms are freshly decorated, staff are very attentive and friendly, food excellent with a great range of dietary needs catered for. Would highly recommend a visit to the Ragged Cot.
Popped in to meet with family before we moved on somewhere else, so didn't stay long. I have been before on several occasions, including staying over night, and I've never found fault.
Cake at the Shed was mediocre at best. Lots of places do nice coffee but good cake takes skill. On both visits, the cakes have been dry and bland. They re stored on slates usually with no cover, so I guess it s inevitable.
However, good coffee shops abound in and around Minchinhampton, so for me, 2 attempts is all the Ragged Cott Shed is going to get from me. It simply isn t worth it.
Such a shame as the food and drink in the main house are always very good indeed.
Lovely food and great service...good outside area...
Wow! This place is posh. I was so out of place. There is The Ragged Cot which has rooms, restaurant and bar and next door, in the same grounds, is The Shed. It is a shed, but it's a posh shed. The cakes looked lovely but I only ordered a More
Great evening. Great food. Great staff and service. Great choice of ales.
Have been here a couple of times now and its always a pleasant experience. The staff are friendly and the food is delicious.
New owners who are definitely making a difference here with improvements in staff, service offering quality food and wines/beers now available. Will be lunching there at Christmas and looking forward to it!
Nice location. Drinks were a little pricey but the atmosphere was worth it.
Nice place
Thanks
An excellent lunch well served in delightful surroundings
Good food, good beer, nice accommodation, friendly staff and great service
We thought we would give this a try as we were popping by and decided to stop for lunch on Saturday. The food was fantastic, portions were enormous. We had the seafood sharing platter to start, which if we had ordered a side would probably have been plenty for lunch. Not knowing the size of the portions though we ordered mains as well. It was so tasty it was a real shame that neither of us could actually manage to finish and we normally have quite large appetites. We will definitely be stopping by again.
Lovely place and breakfast was wonderful staff very friendly will definitely go back
Well may I begin by saying that 1 star here is very generous, never has there been a more SHODDY inn on this planet, upon arrival at this cursed and crooked cottage, I found that payment was up front, I realize that in some places this is standard practice. I didn't feel like the manager deserves to speak to his customers and I didn't want a refund from a place that clearly needed the money. Firstly the room situation, this room truly shows that it deserves its name the Ragged cot. The carpets were disgusting as well as appliances in the room, stains and marks everywhere as well as terrible artwork. The food itself was meh, the chips were simply delicious but the rest of meal such as the burger was really nothing special. One waiter was quite rude, unfortunately I didn't catch the name, and catch is the correct word because this person acted like a wild ANIMAL, insulting when I found the meal to be sub standard. When leaving I tripped, this is not their fault of course but I found the receptionist to laugh without apology, truly EMBARRASSING, I will be sharing this review with everyone.
Lovely old pub with fresh interior.. Large extension out the back makes it ideal for larger families
A real fire. Friendly staff. Great food and fine ale. I couldn't fault this place. If you get the chance, do pop in for a pint and a plate.
Went there today for Sunday lunch. Great service, dog bowl and water provided for our dogs. Food was top quality, one of the best roasts I've had in a long time. Definitely go for the Eton Mess for dessert!
Good food , busy gastro pub environment. On the ball staff. Would highly recommend.
Quite exspencive..in the restaurant. But the "shed" coffee/Food outside was great .
Refused to accommodate us 8 mins late even for desert only on a Saturday.
Lovely Cotswold Inn, with great choices of and local ale ( could do with a couple more taps, imo ) very good value bed and breakfast, we had a comfortable room with on suite, a year or two ago. Breakfast was all local food.
Good food and tasty wine. Could do with a more extensive children's menu. A fun evening with friends.
Very cozy and comfortable rooms at a beautiful traditional atmosphere.
Service is very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast is delicious.
In the evening you can enjoy dinner next to the fireplace.
Dishes are great and there is a big selection of wines and beers.
The parking area is also free for the customers.
Highly recommended!
A little gem. 9 rooms only make it a lovely place to stay, very friendly and helpful staff. Food very tasty and a new menu each evening. Only downside was on our long August bank holiday weekend, the weather was beautiful and we would have benefitted from at least having a fan in the room as the hot nights were very uncomfortable. One tip, wear footwear in the bathroom else you will have bla k all over your feet as the floor tiles have been painted black and it is all flaking off!
Lovely evening with my favourite main and favourite pudding.
Cosmina made it for us. She was lovely and welcoming, her vibrant energy was infectious. She gave us good advice about how to get the best out of the menu, and was flexible and helpful with all of our choices. Thank you! Adam and Lana
Out on a motorbike ride, saw this pub so popped in. Really nice place inside and two bar girls really friendly. Had a pub lunch which was beautifully cooked. Will be going back
The Ragged Cot looks lovely but is tired. The upstairs rooms are so comfortably hot and have damp on the walls. The corridor to the rooms is shabby with damp patches. The staff were nice but always rushed. The bar service was poor. Their is no vegetarian option for breakfast.... no mushrooms! A real let down on what I thought would be a really good place to stay.
The food wasnt great and slightly overpriced! Also not great having to ask for both a food and a drinks menu after we had been sat waiting for 10 minutes! Definitely in need of some more staff.
We stayed at the Ragged Cot a few days before Christmas the food was really good, but the rooms although looking quite new need a good sort out. as soon as we went to use the shower we realised the bathroom floor had been painted black and would peel onto your feet every time you walk into the bath room. then on the second day the room had been serviced and shower cleaned and what ever they cleaned the shower with was deadly it was so slippery I was lucky not to fall over it was very close.
Pic was after I had picked most of the paint off of my foot.
In my opinion the Ragged cot could do with a good bit of maintenance and then should be a great business.
The manager is very arrogant you book an area you want to eat and he wants to change it not impressed
We just stopped for coffee and cake on a bike ride. It was excellent! Fab food and service. Recommended!
Fantastic food, the best mushroom stroganoff I ve ever eaten!! The atmosphere and service, also very good.
Had a fantastic night in this beautiful hotel, food was amazing, very friendly staff lead by Cosmina nothing was too much trouble for her ... would highly recommend this hotel absolutely brilliant... and thank you Cosmina for your fabulous hospitality... we will definitely be back ....
Day of visit/stay: Festive season.
Exterior: Quiet country inn, has it's own carpark.
Interior: Nice bright bar, cozy feel with 2 fireplaces within a space. Nice extension of the dining area and an exterior space/shed that acts as the breakfast area of the stays, cozy feel.
Table: Standard display.
Service: Attentive, smiles, prompt.
Food: Exceptionally good bread, prompt, generous portion, creative dessert presentation.
Crowd: Local, Celebration, Relazing, Dogs Friendly.
Lovely quaint hotel, great food and very friendly staff.
The serve could have been better. Took a very long time to be given our bill. The food was adequate but the service let the evening down.
Food was lovely. Staff excellent. So welcoming to our puppy
Initial impression: strong smell of toilets.
Then: disorganised - waitresses fretting about despite few customers.
Next: highly stylised, pretentious interior
Then: poor vegetarian options
Finally: we left
Good venue, good buffet laid on for an event. Lovely staff.
Lovely little place, service was good but the price of the food didn't match the quality.
Very friendly inn with interesting history worth a visit if your in the area the staff are very attentive and helpfull
Not been in here for many years and really enjoyed it. Just popped in for one drink after a night out and time went quick. Nice seating area and nice open fire. Nice selection of drinks and good prices too. Good lot of parking. Made to feel welcome. Will be coming back for sure and will try the food next time. Nice country pub.
I would highly recommend the Ragged Cot. All of us had a good meal and enjoyed the decor and ambience. Service was excellent.
Gorgeous place to stay. We stayed for a couple of nights so we could go to a wedding near Stroud. The room was blissfully comfy and the breakfast delicious. The garden will be wonderful to sit out in the summer.
Thank you Ragged Cot
Very nice place to stay I can normally pick fault but on this ragged cot I can't only stayed one night but very pleased
