Optimistic as we had eaten here before but not overly impressed this time around. No table water offered on arrival, no table service, which is fine but also expected to pay when you order so no tip paid to staff as could not assess if performance warranted one before we had eaten. Food was 50/50. chicken schnitzel was luke warm & hard. Garlic herb butter order with the steak had neither garlic nor herbs in it. Steak was also luke warm. Braised pork did not have the listed dumplings in it or the saffron rice, plain rice only & no explainatuon offered for missing items. No salt & pepper on the tables. Staff don t check back to see if everything is ok with the meals. Glad a tip wasn t pre paid as service was very basic. Staff friendly & nice clean venue otherwise.

Many times I have driven past this pub and thought it looked inviting, and finally tonight I went there for a meal. The general vibe was lively and great, the bar staff were great, but the main reason I went there was for the food.....it was sadly underwhelming. The Lobster and Chorizo Thermidor entree was served on bread, and it barely covered the two small slices of bread, but worse was the fact that the flavour was non-existent. It was bland, and there was no evidence of lobster in the flavour. This was followed by the Chicken, Corn and Chorizo house-made pie which came sitting on a bed of mash, with some runny gravy (presumably it was gravy) and peas poured over the top. I could best describe it as hearty, but again bland, with no real detectable flavour. Overall what started out as a great evening ended up with a deflated feeling. Since then I have found out that one other friend in our large group sent their meal back to the kitchen because it was so poor, and another basically left everything uneaten without sending it back...in other words, almost 20% of our group were very unhappy with the food.

A smallish and cosy pub, that was lively (a little noisey. But it was the first game of AFL for the season). Separate large dining area. Good steaks at a good price, with great service and friendly staff.

Curry was okay, service was quick. But out of 3 children s meals not one child could finish the chips because of the taste. Half the chips were a black type colour and all had an unpleasant taste. My partners lasagne meal was average. He also found the chips difficult to tolerate. We are not sure if something was wrong with them but being pregnant and having tried a couple because of my children s complaints it has made me nervous.

What a fantastically friendly place.

Good customer service with standard beers on tap plus Frothy from Matilda Bay & the tasty, yet strangely named Pirate Life ~ I went for dinner & ordered Morrocan Chicken Breast $27.50 ~ the meal arrived in good time but was seriously lacking in flavour & imagination. My friend had a porterhouse steak $31 that looked far more appetizing.

Well since no one asked how the food was despite over half of 2 plates going back to the kitchen I will mention it here. The barramundi and Parma were good, but the chicken risotto was full of reheated flavour in the chicken. Menus not removed during meal, and table cleared at the end incompletely. Decor is insipid and dull but staff are nice.

Food was very below average. Chicken parma was cold, cheese was hard on top. Chips had a very strange seasoning. Lamb souvlaki bread was undercooked and lamb was bland. Service was very friendly, atmosphere was great, shame the food didn't deliver.
