This is a nice hotel, but when I arrived at 830pm no one was at the front desk. I made liberty of the computer lobby and registered myself. After another 25 minutes I started looking around until I found the front desk girl (reddish hair with glasses) was sitting by the pool. She saw me and came up front and asked me "can I help you? I don't have anyone else registered for tonight." I informed her that I registered myself and need the key for my room. She gave it to me quickly as if she needed to hurry off and chat with whoever was in the pool area.

TL;DR Showed up, no one at the front desk. Registered myself and the attendant was indignant.

Our home away from home! The Pointe is the best accomodations in town. Friendly staff and very clean. Pool, sauna, and spa are perfect. Close to town yet you seem like you are in the woods. Beauty of lake minocqua can't be beat!

Last minute decision while on a short trip in June. We were very pleased! Great view from our room, rooms are like little apartments. Price was pretty reasonable. Front desk person was noticeably swamped and over-whelmed when we checked in, but kept her cool and was very courteous and helpful.

We made a last-minute decision to head up to Minocqua for some bike riding. We chose The Pointe because we'd be close to town and have our own little kitchen. We had such a nice experience! Our suite was small and cute, and we had easy access to a picnic table and Adirondack chairs with a view of the lake. We caught the Bearskin Trail right in downtown Minocqua and it is so wonderful! We rented kayaks from the hotel for a very reasonable price (paddles and life vests included) and had a lovely late afternoon cruise. We walked across the bridge for lunch one day and had a choice of several restaurants. We would definitely stay there again!

Really nice place. Room was a bit dated but clean and very Northwoods! The continental breakfast was good to have! The only thing I would change it the time the gym opens. My husband is an earlier riser (as many who use the gym are) and it would be nice if it opened at 6am.

Our favorite place to stay up north. We have stayed here once a year for many years. The property is continually being updated. Location is wonderful. We love the view and ability to walk into town. Condos are comfortable. We like the electric or gas fireplace, I forget what it is. Rooms are clean and in good repair. We take advantage of the free breakfast on occasion. I like the waffles. We plan to continue staying at this property on future visits.

Excellent location on bluff with great views over Lake Minocqua, and short walk across the bridge to bustling downtown Minocqua. Full complimentary breakfast everyday, with awesome make-your-own waffles, and super friendly, helpful staff! Say hello to Buck!

I really liked the decor, the staff, the location. What else is there to say? They had breakfast daily, but I did not participate, therefore I can't comment on that. I wish I could stay here for.the.duration of my assignment, but it is too far away for a daily commute to the other sites I have to visit.

Update: I have a work assignment approximately 30 minutes from this place. Guess who's going back.

Nice place to stay, northwoods homey. Meat and eggs for breakfast weren't out with the rest of breakfast until later. Beds and room were very comfortable and clean. Will definitely be back!

Nothing special, comfortable bed. Had a king and queen in the room which was nice. Breakfast was typical 2 star food. Balcony overlooked road and lake. Taller chairs on the balcony would help...otherwise you just see the railing.

Beautiful hotel. We stayed in one of the privately owned suites/condo. It was clean and very cozy. Full kitchen to buy grocery and cook. It also had an electric fireplace which was very nice. You have your own private patio and a picnic table off in grass perfect for those summer days. The hotel overlooks and sit on the water which is an extra bonus. Overall the nicest hotel in Minocqua. Staff in very friendly and professional as well.

Stayed here for a fall getaway with a friend. Enjoyed hanging in the pool & sauna when we weren't out hiking the area. The room was large with comfy beds, , the grounds were nicely kept & the staff was helpful & friendly. Nice restaurants nearby. I would go back again.

Location was perfect just outside of the main Minocqua town center. The lake views were great and fishing off the piers with children was hours of fun (when the fish were biting at least) . When the rains came, we enjoyed the indoor pool. Staff was very friendly and the provided breakfast was a good start to each day.

I had a my mother recently stay at The Pointe I recommended this establishment. I will never recommend this place again. The room was beyond dirty does nobody know how to move a lamp or look under a bed anymore? I asked one of their cleaning staff. Kathy or Karen whatever her name might of been if we could have an extra towel or two she replied that she couldnt help me with that and thats putting it nicely. She smelled heavily of booze and I was surprised that she was still standing being that I don't think I have experienced a bar patron in that type of condition. All in all it was a terrible stay rude intoxicated staff dirty room and way over priced. I would never recommend this place even to my worst enemy.

Although I did not stay overnight (I was just seeing family members who were staying there), I was thoroughly impressed with the size and quality of the suites. The views of Lake Minocqua and Lake Kawaguesaga are absolutely unmatched, and the hotel itself is perhaps two minutes by car from downtown Minocqua

The Good...
The breakfast was complimentary and okay, but inconsistent in what was served.
Canoes were nice and affordable. The king size bed was very comfortable. The pool was nice.

The "Not So Great"...
The 3000's rooms are only reachable by 3 flights of stairs, so that sucked for my knees. The room smelled pretty stale, the sheets and towels are rough and stiff. Didn't find tissues until the last day. The razor I needed should have been freely available upon request, but I had to pay for it since the desk person couldn't find one. The light switches were numerous and confusing. Lots of noise from the road outside.

The Pointe has a great location right off lake Minocqua. It has ability to dock your boat for the duration of your stay. You can also rent kayaks or canoes from the hotel. The ground level floor has and open pation the above floor rooms each have a small deck patio. There are also gas grills outside along with a fire pit. Overall very nice place.

I booked a extra night. 2 week before stay. On our 4 day we are told at 2pm to leave they have guest checking in at 4pm. Was told I didn't call and was called 4 times from front desk to leave as we are trying to pack and leave. Would never go back. That messed up my husband birthday evening plans . Never will go back

We vacation in Minocqua every year, but this is the first time we stayed here. The whole family loved it! Even my 11 and 13 year old, who were used to staying at The Waters everytime. Staff was great and we had absolutely no complaints.

We stayed in a one bedroom suite and it looked better than the online pictures! My boys said they didn't miss the pool at The Waters and want to stay here next time! If you are looking at this and trying to decide where to stay, this is the place!

This hotel is great. We stayed in a suite room and it had a hot tub, fully stocked and functional kitchen, fireplace in living room. And the staff is very friendly. Highly recommend this place for vacations or just to get away.
