I have been attending the Pops series for many years but today I was extremely disappointed in the concert. Have seen the movie "Singing in the Rain" several times but never expected to see a movie in Symphony Hall when I paid to hear a Pops concert. I hope we will not have any more "concerts" like that. I love the Phoenix Symphony orchestra and look forward to attending many more concerts but no movies!
Love, Love, Love....it is a shame that one if Phoenix's best cultural events does not have more support. The musicians are some of the best in the world and the Phoenix Symphony puts on one heck of a program.
This is the address for the office. The wonderful concerts are held at Symphony Hall in the Phoenix Convention Center. The Phoenix Symphony is a jewel of an arts treasure that brings many exceptional classical and pops artists to Phoenix. The many talented musicians bring a vibrancy and joy to the city and enjoy the support of many individuals and businesses. Bravo Phoenix symphony!
Beautiful. We came to see the Phoenix Symphony's Harry Potter show and were impressed by the elegance and size of the hall. Just about any seat you purchase will get you a good view because it isn't so big. The location is perfect, smack in the middle of everything, restaurants, hotels. We were a 3minute walk from our hotel (Palomar).
Came on a field trip with my son's school. Had a great experience listening to beautiful music. The musicians followed their Maestro and played popular movie theme songs to incite the kiddos. Kids got to hear music from popular kid movies like Star Wars, Superman, and Indiana Jones. It was very fun!
I took my beautiful live to see the Symphony for the first time in her life, it was a magical evening. The Symphany was sublime. I honestly cant wait for a return trip. Culture is alive and thriving in Phoenix, Bravo.
I really enjoy this symphony. I have been several times, and have not been disappointed once. A group of extremely talented musicians and beautiful themes make for wonderful, family-friendly escapes. If you haven't been, GO - you won't be disappointed.
Saw the Friday showing of Nightmare Before Christmas... first time attending and while it was a good showing it was not worth the $98 front row balcony seats we paid per ticket nor the 3 hour car drive one way to attend. The movie is playing during the show, which I knew, but I was not expecting the orchestra itself to be so low in sound and the movie so loud. It should be switched. Also, things to note for first timers: if you are not seated when intermission is over they lock you out for 5 minutes. Which is ridiculous to me when people kept getting up during the show for drinks. We also purchased a bag of candy from the coffee bar and were told by an usher, after our purchase, that we could not eat it inside. What's the point in selling it? Why not tell the customer before purchase? The Hall itself is beautiful, but it was very warm. We came dressed in long sleeves because per their website they "keep it cool", The rules and low volume of the show left me and my family disappointed.
