The hotel is one of the most beautiful ones I ever saw in my whole life. Its rooms are so comfortable, with an incredibily soft bed and a bathroom that has everything you can ask for. The external parts and interiors are astonishing as well. It looks like it comes from another age and you feel like a king in your own kingdom.
Only negative things of my stay were that the breakfast was absolutely no big deal/disappointing (waiter also looked kind of unprepared to me, as he didn't know the hotel could make cappuccino and espresso coffee) and the fact that receptionist forgot to give me back my credit card after checking-in and I left the hotel without it (it was my fault also that I didn't realize that, but I checked-in after 14 hours traveling and I just wanted to go to sleep).

Unfortunately, this was our very first experience with the peacock inn and I had made reservations for 8:30 earlier that week. We weren't seated until after 9:30 and our only consolation was prosecco... As we don't drink that often, very rarely, in fact, this was not enough to make our night better. In fact, it was my husband's birthday and instead of giving us a dessert for free for his birthday, we received more prosecco. As it was very late and I had to dive I didn't even touch mine. Again, I wish they had done more than offer cheap bubbly to make the night special.

If we hadn't serendipitously run into a wonderful friend, we would have left.

Now the food was absolutely epic. Best gnocchi I ever had, though the kale was a little bitter and I don't think it complimented the beautiful flavor of the gnocchi as well as other greens I know would.

My husband got the bison steak, which is a tough meat, and, personally, for me, wasn't amazing, even rare.

The food came out less than 10 minutes of our ordering, the service once we were seated was undeniably perfect, and the atmosphere was beautiful.

It was a treat to see people really dressing up for a night out and made the atmosphere and evening even more special.

It's a shame about what happened in the very beginning, because, I think, it would have been a perfect night if we didn't have to wait so long.

I live several blocks away from the restaurant in Princeton quite frankly I could not be happier having such a fantastic restaurant so close to home. The food is always fantastic and the staff is courteous. Very highly recommended!

Amazing food, amazing service. Came here for a date night with the wife and couldn't have asked for a better experience.
We ordered some apps and beer, and all the apps were delicious. However, the one that pleasantly surprised me the most was the Little Gem salad! Definitely worth a try.
Ambience was very nice - upscale but cozy.
Recommend this place wholeheartedly. Will certainly be going back in the near future.

Awesome food and fantastic service. This gem is hidden in an inn and hard to imagine from the outside how great the food is. The chef is super skilled and the food is presented beau6and tastes fantastic. Staff is very enthusiastic as well!

Went there last week and were disappointed.
The service was poor and clod. The drink order for one was never taken and for another delivered very late. All four entrees were delivered to the wrong people. The food was mediocre. In particular, my filet was tough and under cooked.

We called and told them that we would be there on July 30th , which is our 30th wedding anniversary. They did nothing special for us, we had to ask for a fan to stay cold and we found food very average. Manager was staying in cool bar while cutimer had to stay outside due to pandemic . Had to asjed for more water , bread and butter. Parkijg lot garbage dumster smelled bad and here were eating near there . Will not go back there.

Upon arrival we noticed that there was limited parking. Checked in and there was no elevator to take us to our third floor room. Upon entering we noticed a sunken bathroom which proved to be highly dangerous for my husband and myself especially during the night... and I might add no nightlight in the bathroom.. also the tiles were very slippery and had to remove a wooden mat which added to the dangerous bathroom situation. Had to leave a light on all night for our safety. The walls were paper thin and could hear was going on in the next room. In the morning went down to breakfast but it was so shockingly sparse I had to ask the girl at the desk to replenish. I asked her if we were late and she said no. She apologized and hurried to replace some cereal and a little bit of lox. There was literally no coffee left and we were there at 9am. Another guest noticed the problem also and couldn't believe it either... it was a disaster. If there was a valet I never saw him or did he offer to park the car. Again parking lot very hard to maneuver. I have a handicap sticker and the space was dangerously close to a water pipe. The only good part was f the stay was the shower itself with all its spouts. The room was very expensive. Over $400 and the coup de grace was me forgetting my phone charger and then sending it to me and charging me $30 never telling me or asking if that was ok.. no authorization. I could buy a new one for that. Never will stay here again.

This review is only for the afternoon tea service. While we were very excited to have tea in an upscale setting near home, the total experience really fell short of expectation. The sandwiches were mediocre at best and the sweets easily forgettable. I will say that the setting is lovely and service attentive hence the 2 stars. The up-sell of the champagne/sparkling wine flight and caviar, a pleasant surprise and excellent for $30. However it was difficult to justify a $65 pp price tag for the base lackluster tea service.

Guys, you really need to up your game, get a new pastry chef, get rid of soggy crust tarts, upgrade the scones to something more than an average baker can make at home, include home made jams and clotted cream (rather than the little glass jars you get at your local holiday inn breakfast buffet) , etc., etc., etc. Drop the price by half or get rid of this service entirely.

Will we be back? Probably not. For tea? Definitely not! For $200 plus tip we expected much more and could have gotten an outstanding meal pretty much anywhere else.

This place is impressive to say the least. If you are tired of the same upscale menu and are ready for something new bold, classy, elegant, yet tasty then check out with awesome place! The chief Alex VanDike is a pleasant, highly educated in the culinary arts and very friendly, I think he is an up and coming maverick. The service was top notch, our waiter Chris was vey knowledgeable about the wines on the menu and helped us pair just right. It was a beautiful night and I m so glad we chose to spend it at this magnificent restaurant. I d rather keep it a secret but if you are this far into the review then go see it for your self, you will not regret it.

(Note: Please create a separate google listing for the restaurant apart from the hotel)

Had a one night stay here the day after valentine's day. It was amazing. Two words... heated tiles. In the bathroom! Really quaint room but was overall impressed by the comfort of it all.

Exactly what you expect for a place of this caliber. I will say that I enjoyed the Amuse, salad and appetizers more than the main entree. Excellent service, interesting ambiance, highly recommended!

We had a family birthday brunch for my daughter here and I can't say enough good things. Gorgeous, sophisticated, yet still warm and friendly atmosphere enhanced by the impeccable service. They helped me with a problem before I got there and followed up to make sure our visit went smoothly. They gave us so much extra care I was just floored. It was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. The food and drinks were phenomenal. Such a creative and appealing menu. The portions were just the right size to be satisfying. The pricepoints were competitive for area brunch spots but the delightful service and elevated food and drink made it a fantastic experience at a great value. Looking forward to many happy returns and making this an annual place to celebrate birthday fun.

The restaurant is opening again soon, bar open on weekends but staff won't mind pouring you something to drink themselves at anytime. The place is newly renovated in all rooms. Immaculate, friendly, beautiful mansion in a historically wealthy town... The stay is on the expensive side but it includes all amenities for you that one can ask for as well as things to do in the area as far as nightlife. Would definitely recommend nights to stay here

Spent a fantastic evening at the inn. Time on the front porch with drinks, then in to the dining room. Food and staff amazing. Even asked to speak to the chef so we could personally thank him. Room was well appointed and very comfortable. Go spend a night, you wont be disappointed!

Came on Sunday last minute reservations , and we were treated so kindly. Micheal is the host with the most , very pleasant and accommodating . Brittany is a fun, cute and kind waitress . Christopher was also amazing , John the bus boy was right there to help with everything also. The appetizers were so good especially the smoked Gouda with blue cheese dressing in a lettuce wrap. Had the Tomahawk steak for 2 that was cooked to perfection with cream of corn and baby potatoes with black garlic and greens with strawberries . I know it s a lot but the food was delicious . Even the valet was so nice . Drove over an hour to eat here and will be back as soon as I can . Thanks everyone there for an awesome experience.

Stayed at the hotel for one night. Room was cozy but small, but you'll expect that. Everything is updated and clean. Service was good, but breakfast was disappointing making the stay somewhat less special.

I had bern wanting to check this place out for a couple of years. My wife and I visited on Father's day. The food is very good. But, meh ! Nothing was really special. The service is ok. Nothing spectacular. The food is not bad by any means but, not 5 star. There is nothing over the top or anything to make the dinning experience unforgettable. The next day my wife asked my opinion and my remark was unremarkable. The food is just basic high quality food. I had the clams for an app. 3 from the West Coast, 3 from the East Coast. Fresh and presented well but, no flair. . The Drinks have minimal alcohol. For $17.00 a Moscow Mule should have a bite. The Chocolate Souffle was good but, not great. For the price I could Dine at Rats or venture into NYC for a comparably priced meal with a bigger wow factor. I was disappointed in the entire venture and would not recommend a visit. Nor woukd I care to visit again.

As a side note the dinning room was a bit small. And the table who were on their coffee when we arrived where loud. A bit too close in my opinion. If they weren't leaving soon I woukd have asked to be seated elsewhere. 2 tops belong in a secluded area. That is why couples dine together.

Must be a great hotel but had lunch there and my lobster salad was the the worst and most expensive I ever had which means allost no lobster and no taste. For such a price really it was a joke. Other than that the service was excellent.

What a lovely place. Had the high tea menu. Wonderful, flavorful, unique and one of kind teas. Finger sandwiches were excellent. Scones were scrumptious! Desserts were decadent! Definitely will be going back for tea again. Also want to try one of their seasonal dinner menus.

My wife and I ate at The Perch a couple weeks ago for our anniversary, the newly renamed restaurant at the Peacock Inn. We ate outside due to the virus restrictions- it was an ideal setting. The food was absolutely terrific. Special shoutout to Brittany and Michael for their excellent service and conversation- they made our experience even better. Definitely plan on going back soon.

I am a Marketing Specialist who organized an event at this venue for my job's Holiday Dinner. The event planner Michele was very helpful with assisting me on all aspects of preparing for this dinner. We communicated consistently through email and via phone up until the day of the dinner. They have valet parking when you arrive. The ambiance and decor of this restaurant is beautiful.

The food is very expensive and you do not get a big enough portion for the money you spend. We ordered from the fixed menu since we were a large party of 42 guests. For the Hors D'oeuvres we ordered cornbread, wagyu beef satay, and crab cakes. They tasted mediocre and the portions were way too small for the price we paid. We paid $35 per person for the Hors D'oeuvres. Definitely a waste of money on our budget for this dinner. The drink selection is extensive but also very expensive.

For the entrees, I had the wagyu sirloin and it wasn't as flavorful as I expected. The sauce they put on it was very flavorful and I enjoyed that. It gave the sirloin flavor because it needed it! I also tried the Griggstown farm chicken and it was very good, tender, and moist. The best thing I ate all night!

My coworkers tried salmon and said it was tender and moist as well.

Dessert was not very good. We had apple spiced cake and cheesecake. Both were mediocre in taste. I am Caribbean and I enjoy food that has strong flavor! The Peacock Inn fell short but the customer service was very good!

My husband decided to make a reservation to surprise me to a formal tea/lunch. We get there, and we were told they need 24 hours notice and could not accommodate us. We do not live in the area, and would have appreciated being told this over the phone, not after all was confirmed.

We were offered brunch, the food was good, however the finger food would have been perfect for us, and the focus on tea would have been welcomed, as there is not much i can have due to recent surgery.

The 3 stars goes to the gentleman at the front desk, that I feel went above and beyond to make sure we could enjoy something. He was kind, and his customer service was excellent. I just wish we could've experienced what we were looking forward to.

Stopped in on a rainy day for a drink and we were impressed. They have a large selection of liquor, wine and bottled beer ($6-$10). There were only 2 beers on tap ($8 craft domestic) but both were good.

Beautiful Christmas decorations! The restaurant is now divided to smaller cozy rooms. We liked this change! The food was delicious and the service's impeccable. The manager came to us to apologize that they were out of one dish from the menu. They surprised us by making the two glasses of wine we ordered earlier as complimentary.
We're already made reservations for the New Year's dinner for us and our friends.

Dessert menu just insane. Simple basic vanilla cupcake for $9 at fine dining restaurant just unacceptable.

The restaurant was beautiful and the staff were very attentive. However, $1,000 for a soup, steak and below average dessert with no wine or alcohol apart from two small beers for my family of 5 adults and 3 children was excessive.

Wow!! We had dinner at The Perch at Peacock Inn last night, and SUCH a vast improvement over the last time we ate there about a year ago. Their new chef (Alex) has created a phenomenal menu, unrelentingly delicious, and what gorgeous presentation! Everything we had, from the cocktails, to the surprise amuse bouche that greeted us, to the entrees and dessert, was outstanding. The elegant and attentive service is comparable to what you d get in a 4-star NYC restaurant. And the outdoor dining is absolutely beautiful in their lush garden. A very special place in Princeton!

Exceptional, exceptional service and fantastic food. Ideal for any special occasion. We celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary and the menus were personalized with our event. Steve, the manager, made us feel like family. We'll definitely be going back. Well worth the price.

I would not recommend coming to this place if you have young children. Was treated very rudely by restaurant manager when our child woke up from nap and cried for "one minute" when waking up.

We celebrated my daughter s bridal shower at The Peacock Inn.The food was amazing, the staff (everyone) was professional, friendly and so accommodating! Everyone who came loved it! We were planning an inside event however due to Covid we ended up having it outside and it was picture perfect !!! Thank you to everyone at The Peacock inn!!

We have stayed at the Peacock Inn many times. We keep coming back for the very comfortable accommodations, amazing food and every amenity I need or want. But even more than that is the hospitality. My family and I were here while our home in Florida was being devastated by Hurricane Irma. The Peacock Inn took us in in the middle of the night when we had to evacuate before our reservation and extended our stay for many days until it was safe to get back home. Their supreme generosity and the way everyone made us feel part of their family made an extremely stressful experience for us actually very pleasant. They never missed any opportunity to try to make our stay even better.
We look forward to many more returns to this lovely place.

This review is for the afternoon tea.

Nice, upscale establishment. Complimentary valet parking.

Posh decorations. Beautiful china set bespoke for the inn. Three dining rooms, all with tables set up. Two were empty, one hosted a party of 6 chattering women. We were seated in the room with the chattering women.

For $65 per person, I expected that they would know how to properly brew a cup of tea. The tea was just dumped into a pot of boiling water and brought to the table. There was no recognition that black, white, and green teas each steep for different amounts of time at different temperatures, concepts usually clearly explained on the packages of expensive tea. The descriptions of the teas in the menu were mouthwatering but the brutal brewing method obliterated any nuances of flavor. When I requested a properly brewed pot of tea and stuttered out how to do it, - embarrassed to need to explain something so basic - a pot of hot water of unknown temperature and a pile of tea leaves was brought to the table for me to do it myself. If you go to this place, choose the herb tea, it can stand up to soaking forever in boiling water.

The food was unremarkable except for the dark chocolate. The sandwiches were dry - made from store bought bread, which does not have a moisture content up to sitting out long enough to be cut into pretty shapes, arranged on a platter, and sit for five to ten minutes. The scones were delicious and the clotted cream as well. The pastries were also good. But not outstanding enough to balance the awful tea and mediocre sandwiches.

22 minutes after the food came, we requested fresh pots of herb tea and hot water. The waitress replied that she wasn t sure she could bring any more as they were preparing the room for dinner. My daughter looked at her, chewing and trying to swallow her mouthful of scone, as the waitress went to consult her manager. This was 67 minutes after our reservation began. 7 minutes after the 4pm end time for tea. She did bring more tea (and hot water for me as I was still cycling piles of tea leaves through my cup). We finished our meal and time together as chairs and tables were shoved about us.

For $65 per person, $338 for a party of four, including tip and $7 bottle of water, I expect, if not top notch food prep, at least prep according to package directions; an environment conducive to conversation with the other members of my party and unhurried enjoyment of my meal; and prompt courteous attention to any needs I express with respect to food or drink. This place failed with respect to all three.
