We discovered Orleans Inn 15 years ago. We came up to the Cape Veteran's Day weekend. Had an incredibly emotional visit to Nauset Beach then went looking for a place to eat. Megan Maas was our waitress that first time in 2004. We have eaten there many times since & even stayed in one of their rooms. Another 'must go to' while you're on the Cape.

Wow, what an inn! We found this after being scammed on the internet into a fake rental, and it felt like a miracle. Could not have found a better place. The whole feel of the place is comforting, warm, kind, and charming.

Right on the water, free delicious eggs and bacon for breakfast, sensational views morning and night on the patio, adorable rooms with free Cape Cod potato chips and waters every day, such a charming lobby and tribute to the family who owns it.

So pet/dog friendly. We loved walking Gerbert in the morning along the peaceful water and windmill. We walked up the block to the Ice Cream Cafe every night.

I want to come back here the next time I'm in Cape Cod - it has all the charm that you want when you're looking for a hotel in this area. The owner Ed works tirelessly, literally morning and night, to make sure you have such a great, clean, relaxing, happy stay. Mission accomplished.

5 stars!!!!!

A million dollar view. Waterfront dining. Very good food and a very friendly staff. Family owned. Great for catered parties. They close for the season Sept 16th. Treat yourself. Sit by the cove, enjoy the view, relax and enjoy a delicious meal. It doesn't get better than this

A great late lunch! The service was excellent, we had a great view of the town cove. I ordered the Summer Sangria, and it was delicious. My husband had a cup of chowder, and declared it very good. He also had the fish and chips, and said the fish was very tender. I had the vegetable quesadilla, filled with corn, black beans and other good things. We shared the really interesting blueberry brulee cheesecake. A great combination of flavors. This restaurant was a very pleasant surprise.

Very slow service, even though the restaurant was not bust, (only 2 other parties and a wedding reception downstairs). The tables were sticky and it is in desperate need of updating. The bacon wrapped scallops and the berry salad was very good.

Regarding our experience at the Orleans Inn yesterday I would like to set the record straight .The staff at the Orleans was very accommodating and extraordinarily nice. The fact that the proprietor cause them to start crying is on him and not us if indeed that happened Everything this man has said has been incorrect and an insult to the five families who wanted to be seated for lunch. It should be noted that the restaurant was entirely empty. I have traveled the world extensively and have eaten in five star Michelin restaurants and food carts in Third World countries. Never at any time have I been treated as poorly as at the Orleans Inn. this was an entirely laughable experience that ruined our entire day. I cannot in good conscious recommend this establishment. There is No food review because there was no food!

We did not stay at the hotel, but spent a date night at the restaurant and couldn't have been more pleased. Incredibly attentive staff from the opening phone call to make a last minute reservation to departing after a delicious filling meal. Excellent food (chowdah/bisque, lobster salad sandwich/lobster ravioli) and drink ( Orleans Inn Ale). We cannot wait to go back. Honestly, if the food was terrible (but it was anything but), we'd still go back for the amazing staff, what a restaurant experience should be.

Family on yearly reunion, 20 of us stopped at noon for lunch at Orleans Inn near our luxurious water front rental home. Were denied service and treated rudely by the owner for no apparent reason who said if we wanted to eat at the Inn we should buy it. Unlike the Starbucks incident we just left but felt cleary discriminated against.

Always friendly service and the food is wonderful, my favorite is the amazing berry salad and, of course, the french fries!! The atmosphere is beautiful; you can dine overlooking the water on the deck or inside in the formal dining room or the casual dining area! It really is a treasure, and affordable!

Wonderful food, spectacular view, and very warm and friendly atmosphere that keeps us coming back again and again. Megan and Erin are exceptional and know how to take care of their customers! My husband and I don t believe there is a finer restaurants on the Cape than the Orleans Inn.

What a fantastic place! Excellent place to stay! Ed the owner is nothing but a gentleman and awesome person. The staff is incredible. The food, especially tiramisu dessert, was delicious! There is a bar there with some very nice people. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back next month. Close walk to local places too or cab ride. Right on the beautiful water near Hog Island.

lovely old inn on a lagoon, with stellar sunrises from the back. The food was quite respectable. Seems to be family owned, and the proprietor is a lovely gentleman, who works tirelessly through the summer; he was most accommodating to us, in fact upgraded out room for free.

Orleans Inn was actually a stumble upon: we had a reservation at the lame and gross Skaket Beach Motel, which we promptly ditched. How does the Orleans Chamber of Commerce allow such cut-rate establishments, such as Skaket Beach Motel, to exist?

No room for us at the inn! Not much progress over the past couple thousand years except there was plenty of room but they refused to serve 20 of us because we dared to ask for a waterfront view table, which is in their name. Wish we could have reviewed the food but based on previous reviews the owner might have done us a favor in refusing to serve us. Most bizarre restaurant experience ever!

Very old historical establishment, they have great over the water view. The food was great, all the soup, salads and entries were very very delicious and you can taste how fresh and high quality ingredients they are made of!

We always start out our cape visits with a trip to this restaurant to eat overlooking the water and get into the spirit of the cape. The food is tasty and I have never had trouble getting seated even with groups of 10+ people except the one time when a wedding party had booked the dining room overlooking the water. Never had to wait long either which I can not say about many similar places on the cape. We drive an additional thirty minutes to come here and enjoy the restaurant instead of stopping closer to the bridge.

First time there. In town for work. I m from Pennsylvania and do not have much for waterfront dining in y neck of the woods.
Very nice place. Upscale decor and casual dining.
I had the fish sandwich. Very good, hot and crispy. FF well done, perfect with tarter sauce. Staff was friendly and accommodating without being over tentative.
I highly recommend a visit.

Right on the water where captains have docked their boats for hundreds of years. This 18 room boutique hotel and restaurant is fabulous! It is family run and well-maintained. This Cape Cod classic has been around for a while so don t expect the finish of a two-year-old Hampton Inn. Well worth the money and excellent for events.

Had to give one star but barely deserves that. I never post reviews but feel compelled as I wish we had been warned. When we drove by and saw the sign for deck eating we thought it would be outside under the sun. Instead you are downstairs on deck with a roof although the view was nice. I was not able to access the on-line menu so we assumed they would have a Raw Bar. Wrong - no raw bar - we were both shocked. Meal started with waitress giving us two small pieces of bread and a dish of olive il with ?? for dipping. The bread was about very small - about 1" x 1". We overheard the table next to us that they expected more. I'm not sure why people were raving about the scallops wrapped in bacon - bacon was not cooked. Taste of scallops and dipping sauce were good., however. My husband order NY Sirloin with mashed potatoes and summer veggies. Mashed potatoes were cold and there was two pieces of carrot - barely cooked. I ordered mushroom ravioli. Ravioli a not fully cooked. I was surprised that the ravioli didn't come with salad. I ordered the caprese salad -tomatoes were just OK, mozzarella was blah, olive oil didn't taste great, no basic - no flavor at all. Paid $93 for a meal that was not good. Oh - the total doesn't include alcohol. Used the woman' bathroom and the plumbing is not covered and looked like duct tape on the piping. I'm surprised that someone experienced that it was not kid-friendly as when we were there almost every table had a crying child. Very outdated and food just not good enough for their location. Very disappointed!!!

Terrible service, terrible food. My waitress forgot the soup, but that could be overlooked... The medium well steak I ordered with the surf and turf came to me extremely rare, So I sent it back and it came back to me charred and tasted like cardboard. My wife's mushroom ravioli was served in a pool of olive oil. Literally a huge puddle of oil. The waitress was totally uninterested and couldn't have cared less. Total waste of a rare night out. I don't often complain or leave bad reviews, but i wanted everyone to be warned. VERY disappointing night out. I would leave 0 stars but it wouldn't allow me to post a review without at least one star.

We have had a dinner there and everything was very good. We also had the Sunday brunch and it was excellent. Both meals cooked perfect and was served hot. Will return again. We met the owner and she was extremely delightful. We also enjoyed the quaint atmosphere and the view overlooking the water was relaxing and beautiful.
