Really good friendly service from all the staff. The food portions were generous and my Wensleydale cheese sandwich included big chunks of delicous local cheese. My wife's ham baguette was good quality and the chips and soup were both decent. They were great with our kids and there were 4 decent ales on. Would recommend.

Had to wait over an hour for food. we were in front of out friends we ordered and paid and they came back as ordered just after us and bar had told them it was an 24hr and a half wait for food so they didn't order and nipped over the road for a chippy. We were stuck having already paid... not happy

Stayed for 2 nights. Room 5 lovely double bed with bathroom (a bath). Was great after long day walking. Really friendly helpful staff. Happy to reserve table for us to eat there as well. Basic pub food menu, but thoroughly enjoyed each meal. Roaring log fire to beat off the chills from the hills was also a great addition.

Excellent staff and meals and a great selection of ales including Timmy Taylor's Landlord which was superb. The accommodation was comfortable and the pub itself was welcoming, with a log fire.
Highly recommended.

long 1hr wait for mediocre and overpriced food. They didn't tell me when I was ordering but the couple we were eating with ordered at the bar straight after us, after paying, and she told them it would be at least an hour so they didn't even bother. They went and got fish and chips and we were stuck first waiting for long after they had finished and then eating a naff meal.

Not really fair to judge the establishment based on our visit because it was just about to close for refurbishment, hence no hand-pulled beers available although normally 4 are on offer. Similarly the walls looked like they had been stripped ready for decorating so can't really comment on that.

Been here many times.. The atmosphere hmmm... Rude landlord/bar man more concerned about were we parking our bikes than any sort of customer service.. The fountain next door is much better... And as a previous resident of the area I would expect more

Myself and my class of young people who have sever learning difficulties visited this pub for lunch today. What a warm, welcoming, understanding establishment. The staff were fantastic and made us all feel very welcome, comfortable and not at all rushed. The food was very enjoyable with very large portions and reasonable price. Thank you for making our day that much more enjoyable.

Called for a meal.

Called for a meal.
A warm welcome from staff, when we arrived.
Grabbed a couple of drinks while we (my wife) picked our spot.
Ordered Steak and Ale Pie (brilliant), Yorkshire Burger (our son said was "ace") and a Chicken Curry (which my wife said was a bit watery but nice).
Opted for more drinks, and some deserts.
Apple Crumble and Custard (which was delicious) and Sticky toffee Pudding and Ice Cream (whuch was wolfed down).
If you fancy sitting by the fire drinking a few pints, that would be a good option too.
We'd definitely visit again.
Sorry, no picture of the Crumble, it really was good.

Tried to go here for lunch. Walked in 5 mins before opening. 3 staff were sitting around a table. We said sorry didn t realise they weren t open yet. The older man said we could just take a seat. I asked which side he preferred us on seeing as we had a dog and the front door says dogs welcome. He said either side as long as he wasn t on the bench s. Of course that is fine. My husband was putting the dogs lead around the foot of the table as 99.9% of people do with dogs. The old man came up and said do not do that, my husband asked why and he said because I said so... ok so we just said never mind we will leave. He said we just need to have our dog under control. If you don t want dogs at your place of business don t say you are dog friendly.

Arrived in Hawes, with no concrete plan, or advance booking. Tried a few places on the street. The Inn was head and shoulders above others - open, businesslike, good atmosphere and decor. We got a nice room, with two large corner windows overlooking the street. We had a v tasty dinner there too.

This pub is absolutely fine, priced as most are in the area, beer was kept well and service was good. However, there are others in the area with a bit more atmosphere which I'd likely go as a first choice.
