Well presented pub. Staff pleasant. I just had a Duvel at lunchtime, but the food was popular with others.

Coffee stop on our bike ride. Friendly staff replenished our bidons with iced water. Thank you.
Went in for a drink and a nice traditional pub setting. Quite a lot of restaurant space though, would recommend extending the bar area and losing some of the restaurant space
The Old Barge at Hertford! Very nice place and very nice people!
The food was brilliant and when I visit Hertford next I will deffinately go back
Highly recommended. Fantastic selections of real ales and ciders on tap. Lovely food.
Used to be very good. Ordered a prawn and advocado salad. No dressings very plain and served in a bowl. Member of management rather rude.
Had Sunday lunch here and it was absolutely lovely great service and friendly staff!
Nice pub with a nice posh pub menu and friendly staff
I always go to the barge with great expectations and am always let down slightly. I can't put my finger on it. When I was young it was always heaving that was back when it was just a pub not an eaterie but its in a great position on the river
Great atmosphere. Great beers. Great location. Great staff. Great food. 10/10 would come again
Always a welcome, great bar staff...great beer...great food...
Great pub to visit after a walk along the canal. Only downside limited ice-cream for the children.
Great little pub and the food is certainly a cut above the usual fayre served elsewhere. The chunky chips are particularly good.
Seems to have lost it's way a little on the beer front. I think the prominence of the food there nowadays is a cause. One of those pubs which isn't sure if it want s to be a proper pub or a restaurant. Ales are very hit and miss, sometimes there are a few good ones but usually most of them are mediocre. Also has the most expensive pint outside of Blackbirds. But it does have a large seating area outside which is good in the summer.
Comfy family atmosphere perfect for a break on a rainy day. I work in a coffee shop, and l was really surprised when my capuccino there tasted like... like real milk, the one l knew as a kid and the milk l used to buy in London supermarkets when l came in the eighties as a student
Great range of beers and wonderful Sunday roast. Family said the jacket potatoes were very good and our teenage sons raved about the burgers.
It was fantastic. The food was amazing and the staff where perfect. We were served with big smile
Nice old fashioned pub alongside the river...reasonable selection of beers. Food is good value. Shame the beer garden faces the road rather than the water.
Whenever we go to Hertford we visit The Old Barge for a drink and lunch. A lovely friendly pub which serves a great choice of food, beer and cider. Our dog loves the Barge Burgers and even let's us eat them "sometimes".
Great pub great staff and excellent pub food very friendly atmosphere nice old school pub set on a superb location
Jacket potatoes cold, commented to bar staff on leaving he informed chef straight away.
Not a good place for families, as they will order you off the premises after 7pm if you have anyone under 18 with you.
Lovely traditional pub by the canal, good food served quickly by friendly, accomodating staff
