Lovely cozy hotel with nice amenities. Front desk lady had great local recommendations for bbq! Posh Malin & Goetz toiletries! And fancy bathrooms and super comfy mattresses. Very clean rooms. Easy valet parking for free. Bedtime cookies and water at turndown service. Cute lounge area with a fireplace and bar for hanging out in. Only downside is the thin walls (we could hear the neighbor snoring) and they've provided a white noise generator in all the rooms! spendy price - check priceline or other online places for deals. Also pool is closed in the wintertime.

What a wonderful Inn. We recently enjoyed a birthday weekend get away for my husband and I happened on this location. It was a stroke of luck to say the least. I like to stay in properties that have a little personality and The Oakhurst Inn has that and more. The staff were incredible from the very start when I contacted Lacy by phone the morning of our arrival asking for some help in booking a wine tour the next day. She said she had a few possibilites and would work on and and book something for us while we traveled to Charlottesville. Perfect. Wehn we arrived Lacey and Laurel greeted us and made us fee like royalty. They have free valet parking and that took us by surprise. From the moment we came in the lobby we were right at home and chatting away about Charlottesville and our travels so far on our trip. The room was very comfortable and clean with the bonus of a shared reading room "en suite". Complimentary coffee and waters in the suite are also available all day. In the evenings you treated to chilled water and sugar cookies for their turn down service. We loved the breakfast at the Oakhurst Cafe. It is part of the property complex and short walk outside to another building. That will be another review! I would love to come back and stay in the future. The location and service are superior.

Upon arriving, we were greeted by the front desk lady who promptly got us checked in and took us to our room. Superb bed with top of the line sheets/pillows. Large modern bathrooms with great cosmetics for guests. We came back again 4 days after on our drive back north! From a jaded NYer, please stop and enjoy this town/inn.

We always love staying at this attractive boutique hotel. Great service and decor, extremely comfortable beds and pleasant front office staff. The breakfasts are wonderful: imaginative and remarkably tasty. From this location it is easy to stroll to The Lawn.

Great staff and amenities. Lovely sitting rooms with fireplace and drinks. Free valet parking. The attached cafe is really good. Unfortunately, the bed was too firm and the room was cold. The heater was over the bed so it heated the center of the bed but not the room well. We were finally able to use the portable heater in the bathroom to heat the room. We were on the bottom floor, so we also got a lot of noise from upstairs and sirens outside. We didn't sleep well even with the included white noise generator. Otherwise, it was a great stay despite the problems and we had a good weekend.

We stayed at Oakhurst Inn over the weekend and couldn't have had a more pleasant experience. Aside from being just a beautiful Inn, the customer service was wonderful. Our room and the grounds were spotless and well maintained. We ended up having to leave a day early for a family emergency and when we turned our key in and told them of our early checkout, they were kind enough to refund our last night. It is rare to experience such thoughtful customer service and we will surely be back.

We booked a room at Oakhurst on short notice and were pleasantly surprised by the convenience of the location to everything in C-ville, not to mention the quality and style of the furnishings. The staff was welcoming and very professional. It's quite refreshing to find such a gem in the heart of Charlottesville.

Terrific, all the way around. From the reservation process, to the greeting upon arrival, to the rooms, and the library, and the checkout process. I simply cannot say enough good about Oakhurst Inn.

We loved staying at this hotel! Beautiful hotel, great that they are pet friendly and we were able to bring our 3 dogs. The location is great, the service was wonderful. The complimentary valet is nice. We stayed here after getting married and the staff came by and left us a complimentary bottle of champagne and cookies while we were away at dinner. Only downside is that the hotel is very close to a busy road with beaucoup street noise and the walls are old and very thin. They do provide white noise machines for this

So lovely and exactly what we needed after a long day of driving down 95. Clean rooms, comfortable bed, large bathroom. Wonderful and accommodating service throughout, Abigail is so sweet and helpful. Excellent cocktails at the bar, comfy lounge area with real fireplace. Coffee shop next door is so convenient, solid food and good cappuccino. Thank you oakhurst!

This is a house converted into a restaurant the staff is friendly, the food was well prepared and made with care I recommend you try this over some of those franchise restaurants it's a touch above and the menu provides many different choices from the normal

We loved staying here! The staff couldn't be friendlier and more accommodating. We came with our dog who was also very welcomed by everyone--which made us that feel that much more 'at home'. The room was spacious with a small living room and kitchen as well as separate bedroom and bathroom. Despite the absolute freezing temperatures of New Years weekend, we had no problems with heat and stayed perfectly cozy. Everything was clean and well kept. The location was fantastic--every restaurant we wanted to go to was within one mile and UVA is right across the road. We will certainly always stay at Oakhurst whenever we are in Charlottesville again!

One of my favorite inns to stay at, and I always stay here when I visit Charlottesville. It's super close to school grounds, 5 minute walk to the Engineering school. They provide free water and Seltzer in the common space and often include other goodies like cookies and complimentary cider in the evenings. Free valet parking and WiFi as well. The only downside is that the buildings are a bit old and the floors creak.

What a wonderful place to stay! From check in to the nice lady who took our bags- I believe her name was Shandi? She was fantastic!! To check out and everything in between. Everybody was so nice and welcoming. I would give it 10 stars if I could. The room was cozy and very vintage. This was our first time staying with them. (My boyfriend surprised me and we were In town for the Luke Combs concert). We will definitely be back !!!

So I booked a weekend night stay at Oakhurst due to a visit from the inlaws so I would have my own space and they could enjoy time with my spouse. One of the things that sold me on Oakhurst was the room with the clawfoot tub. I was looking forward to relaxing in that tub. Unfortunately when I arrived I was shown to a room that looked very different and had no tub. I was told someone else requested the room I had booked so they swapped my reservation without telling me. To be honest I really should have left then and there but I was tired and didn't want to struggle with finding another room for the night. I was offered complimentary breakfast coupons for a value of $60.

The cafe that serves brunch was amazing and the service was great.

Unfortunately that didn't make up for spending the night in an overpriced room without a tub and a tiny TV that did not have any movie channels nor was there any ability to cast my entertainment to the TV.

Oakhurst has some nice decor but for the price I expected more luxury and not to be unceremoniously bumped from the room I booked specifically.

Wonderful stay, but too short. The check in is so friendly and helpful. They will valet your car. Make sure you do breakfast. The dark coffee is excellent and so is the food. I own an 1920's home and felt right at home. They think of everything. The modern bathroom works perfectly. What a special place. This was my first stay, but it won't be my last.

Terrific Inn - wonderful service at check in, terrific valet service for my rental car, room clean as a whistle, bed very comfortable, very nice products in the bathroom. And free Nespresso coffee - heavenly touch! Note to Innkeepers - I meant to mention the shower floor was dangerously slippery. Just for safety reasons I thought I would share. One slightly negative experience - hardly worth mentioning. When I ordered scrambled eggs at their cafe I asked the waitress if they might add some green onion if they had any on hand. She asked the chef and came back and said no. Well, that sort of annoyed me (I really didn't think I asked for anything extravagant) but not that big of a deal in the scheme of things. What a terrific Inn - I look forward to returning someday!

My boyfriend, my son and myself stayed at this hotel earlier this week as a last minute thing. We called before booking to make sure the room we wanted was available and they told us it was so we went ahead and booked it. We got there at about 3pm and we were told the room wasn't quite ready yet, which was fine so we went around town and came back an hour or so later to be told that it wasn't ready and they tried to move us to a different room. We wanted to keep the room we had chosen because it had a sleeper sofa for my son and a soaker tub. Turns out no one had turned the weak AC system all day. The AC didn't start cooling anything down until about 2am, which is super uncomfortable being on the third floor of like an old house in July. We had asked for them to make the sofa bed up for us, which they did not, and they also did not leave us extra sheets or blankets for the sofa bed. We did order food and the front lobby brought it up to us with a bucket of ice we requested. We had to leave early the next morning so at check out we asked if they had any coffee to go, assuming that would be complimentary as it typically is, all they were able to provide us with were like espresso shots from kcups or something like that, and never told us we would be charged for it.. today we got an email saying we were charged 10 dollars for it so this place is pretty, the beds are comfy, and the tiny pool is nice as long as no one else is there, this place sucked. Especially customer service.

Honestly we were a pain. We were loud. Bridal party dinner. We chose Oakhart because it is my favorite restaurant in Charlottesville, and I love the food and I love the staff. I definitely recommend this place always. Thank you for always taking care of me and for still being polite although I'm sure you wanted to choke us at one point.

Absolutely abhorrent service. It took an hour and a half to make breakfast for 6. The service staff was rude and made no effort to keep drinks refilled without asking. Then they had the audacity to add gratuity onto the the check without asking. Please take your business elsewhere.

I have had the pleasure of staying at the Oakhurst Inn a few times lately. My stays have always been wonderful! The rooms are spacious and well decorated, the bed are very comfortable and the staff is warm and friendly. Staying at the Oakhurst Inn feels like staying in a friend's home. I can't wait for my next visit!

I really want to like it here. Love the atmosphere. Have gone back multiple times, but each time I remember why I questioned it. The service is bad. They just can't seem to become efficient. If it's your coffee coming out after your food or waiting 20 minutes for them to take your credit card, there's always something with the service. The food is often quite good, but today was the last straw--it made me sick. I'm sure people will continue to fill the place and and I'm sure the service woes will continue.

It's difficult to say how fantastic The Red Door C...

It's difficult to say how fantastic The Red Door Cottage at The Oakhurst Inn was for me. my family and caregivers. I began my search in February 2020, before COVID, for an extended stay location. It had recently been determined that I required a Stem Cell Transplant and upon release from UVA I would have to remain in Charlottesville for at least 70 days to be near the UVA hospital. I unexpectedly came across The Oakhurst and was intrigued. I spoke with Bill; after much discussion we determined that The Red Door Cottage was a better fit than a hotel room as I needed 2 bedrooms and a kitchen. We knew after our second visit/tour, after COVID hit, that the cottage would be the perfect place for me to land after a month in the hospital during stem cell transplant. The cost for the cottage was less than a 1 bedroom hotel suite in the area which made the deal even sweeter. Bill worked patiently with me as my arrival/departure dates fluctuated due to actual hospital admission date. The cottage is perfectly appointed with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living/dining room, small kitchen and covered sitting porch. The cottage (with private entrance) and Oakhurst are nestled on a quiet street within a lovely neighborhood. After COVID hit it was even more important that I be in a situation to keep my distance from others so the private entrance was a blessing. Walking was a very important part of my recovery; there are plenty of safe places to walk just outside the door. The staff; every staff member we came in contact with was friendly, courteous, kind and helpful no matter my request. They willing left clean linens at the door after I requested no one should come in due to COVID. They let me use a washer/dryer onsite and even offered to wash my clothes if I desired. When I had mail or medical supplies delivered they brought them to my door. I celebrated my 50th birthday while hold up in Charlottesville and The Oakhurst staff brought me a beautiful bouquet of flowers in recognition. The Red Door Cottage was truly an oasis from enjoying morning coffee on the sitting porch, al fresco dining on the patio to quiet moments spent reading in the sunny front yard. I could go on and on. You must see to fully understand the hidden treasure that is the Oakhurst & Red Door Cottage.

Very mixed feelings. Room was very tiny, but clean, bathroom clean. Bed was comfortable. The walls are paper thin. We could hear everything our neighbors were doing, saying etc. We could hear a couple nextdoor having sex, incredibly annoying. The hallways are all wood floors so it was shockingly loud anytime someone was walking in them at night. Every time a door would close it was as if someone had slammed it shut. The inn itself is a very old house, so of course with wood floors the people above us kept dropping things, or waking around so it sounded like a bowling alley. We could hear everything going on outside our window, with a busy street, tons of loud cars, buses and trucks all night. Our blinds were broken so we couldn t even fully close them to block out the light from the apartment complex directly behind us. I just feel that it was incredibly overpriced for what we got. At first site it is very quaint, but for the price and all of the noise, I would not stay here again and I would not recommend it.

We didn't stay for long because it was a last minute decision. We got there at 230 am & checked out at 730am and that was more than enough time to experience Jake's exceptional customer service! He came out when we were trying to find parking for our huge Suburban and directed us to a parking garage. Then met us there. He took the stairs and gave us the elevator. Showed us to our room then checked us in. He explained the amenities and the grounds. Jake was polite, welcoming, extremely helpful... Just the gold standard of customer service.
I would stay there again for a longer visit.

WOW! Stopped here at 11:45PM on our way to a family vacation. I was trying to stay away from big hotels that might not be as clean as they should during Covid. Jake was fantastic!! He met us as our room with extra blankets and pillows for our sleeping 3 year old and answered all our questions. The room was very clean and super comfortable! We will definitely be back! So worth the $ What a cute Inn!

NEVER EVER EVER SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. It was thanksgiving. THANKSGIVING. And we parked in our apartment complex on the side of a wall while dropping off groceries. We come back and the car is gone. There is absolutely no sign anywhere. Marching into their office they inform us our car was towed. They were extremely rude. It was not even their land to tow the car and left no warning or sign about where our car was. Never will support this business again. Terrible service and people.

Visiting Charlottesville and staying at the Oakhurst Inn will become an annual trip for me! It s truly been a memorable experience.

I have seen advertisements for the Oakhurst INS gin and jazz on Monday nights for months. I Wish I had gone sooner! What a wonderful way to relax on a Monday evening! Social distancing was easy because we sat outside by the pool. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The music was wonderful. You could sit near the musicians and Listen attentively or sit a bit further away and allow it to provide a lovely background to a relaxing evening. Turns out Monday's were made for gin and jazz.
