My husband and I truly enjoyed the beer at Hoppy Girl Brewing while staying in Wabasha at Turning Waters Bed & Breakfast. Great homemade brews and other local guest beers featured. Fun local hangout!
Brewery is right behind Turning Waters B&B. Didn't even have to leave our B&B to have an excellent beer. This place is incredible and full of amazing people.
Love the beers! Especially the milkshake IPA's ! Brenda is one of the most friendliest people in Wabasha!
Homemade beer in a garage, fun setting. Ford does some nice work and Brenda is a hoot! My main issue is they are often sold out of my favorite beers, I guess that makes if fresh.
This place is awesome! The staff was extremely friendly. The weather was amazing, and the patio is beautifully landscaped and maintained.
We are out of towners and we felt welcomed and the beer is tasty. It will more than likely become a regular stop for us.

This brewery is amazing! The beer is different from anywhere else around and high quality. The owner is so fun to chat with. We wished we got there earlier in the night because we enjoyed it so much!
Brenda, the hostess is full of energy and so welcoming! The beers are great. I went to several breweries this weekend, and this was my favorite. Games to play, outdoor seating by gas fire tables; indoors there's an entire wall of record albums that Brenda plays and takes requests. There's ice cream and pizza and some snacks available.
Stopped by to see this brewery. We enjoyed all the beers we tried. It's a small very personal environment. The owners were great! We got a tour of the bed and breakfast they also run next to the brewery called "Turning Waters". Plan to come back and visit again and would love to stay at their B&B next time. Very fun experience!!

An intimate and friendly place with a great selection. You will not be disappointed in the variety of Hoppy Girl beers. This place makes you feel at home and everyone was so welcoming. We've been to Turning Waters B&B numerous times, and with the addition of the brewery now we love to come down even more - and certainly wish we lived closer so we could be there all the time! :)
Ford brews phenomenal beer! I haven't had one yet I didn't like. His ability to make drinkable, unique, delicious beers is amazing! (I get sad when I see new beers on their list knowing I can't just walk over to try them out. But at least I know that regardless of when we get there again there will be wonderful beers on tap.)
On top of the tasty beers, the feeling of home in the brewery makes it even more fun to go.
As always, Brenda & Ford are amazing hosts in everything they do - whether it's the B&B or the brewery - and this is truly what sets the B&B, the Brewery, and them, apart from everyone else.

We stayed at the B&B (Turning Waters) and this was a huge draw for us! Who wouldn't love a little Brewery, with great beers, right on site?! Ford makes great beers and there is something for everyone. Have a taster if you are curious because you may very well step out of your comfort zone of beer. The pub and outdoor space was clean and welcoming! Sitting on the adorable (socially distanced) patio listening to a little live music enjoying a delicious Lemon Shandy and Raspberry Berliner Weisse was the perfect way to spend our Friday evening! Brenda and Hayley (intern on site) were friendly and always made sure your glass was full and conversation was easy! Cheers to a wonderful brewery!
Wow am I glad we stopped here. Quaint and quiet place with amazing beer. Service made it all the better. Polite, friendly, and made time to talk beer even with a small crowd. Going back real soon.

We had a wonderful weekend here at the the turning waters B &B and the huge bonus was the Hoppy Girl Brewery Pub right in the back yard! The sevice was awesome, Ford and Brenda were amazing hosts!! The beer was great and we loved the Lemon Shandy so muchwe drank it all hehe!! Atmosphere was energetic, fun and the live music was a plus! This brewpub is so cute and very conveniently attached to the best Bed and Breakfast we have ever stayed at. Fun atmosphere and great beer and ice cream! House made hard seltzer for those who don't love beer. Brenda is very friendly and goes above and beyond to meet the needs of everyone.
Brenda and Ford have been extremely creative during this pandemic. They continue to brew and serve some of the best craft beers in MN. It hasn t been easy for the hospitality industry the past few months. If you are ever in Wabasha stop in for a cold one. You won t be disappointed and they follow all health guidelines.

Ford and Brenda offer the most creative beer in a welcoming environment. My personal favorites are the milkshakes - strawberry cream pie and Cara Cara to name two. Stop in you won t be disappointed!

The owner (or at least she acted like she owned the place) was extremely unwelcoming and rude, so we left and went to a much better brewery: Reeds Landing!
I didn t even the chance to sit down before Brenda rudely approached us. Because there were dogs in there when we arrived, we had know idea this establishment was NOT dog friendly. My dog made noise but didn t growl when meeting some other puppies who were in the patio. Everything was fine until Brenda came barreling in and made it a scene. The other guests and their puppies were fine with us being there. The other family also felt she handled the situation rudely when we spoke with them afterwards.
Dogs sometimes make noise when they meet, and it doesn t need to be made into a big deal. The sign wasn t visible, and the dogs in the patio led us to believe dogs were allowed in the patio.
Reads Landing has a wonderful area where they allow dogs, and they even always bring us treats!

Love the beer here and the atmosphere was so calm and relaxed, was rainy and still had fun! Great recommendations from the owner. Very nice people,i watched the owner pluck some of her own home grown basil and give it to one of her customers, very friendly here and laid back.
Ford and Brenda were wonderful. Good vinyl playing, good brews on tap. We will be back for sure.

Strawberry fields ipa was super tasty! The owner opened up the bar in the middle of mowing the lawn so we could have a break in our long drive! So nice!
Local, fun, friendly, but most importantly- amazing beer, perfectly done, accurate to what they should be but also somehow better. Reminded me of the best Montana breweries. Worth the stop.

We went for the Grumpy Old Men Festival in Wabasha & I am soo haooy we checked out Brenda's & Ford's Brewery operation. The atmosphere was great, we met so many interesting & lovely people AND the most important thing - they had the best beers on the whole trip and I rank their beers under the best I ever had. Thanks Brenda, Ford & everyone else there...you made this trip a wonderful memory... Hope to be there again
Had so much fun meeting Brenda and others there yesterday. Very cool place with indoor and outdoor seating. Good beer selections, super helpful bicycle ride suggestions and just plain fun. You have to stop here if you come to Wabasha
It's really good brewing I strongly recommend the jiucy double IPA.
we actually come back again the next day, the jiucy ipa is perfect and the coconut icecream is fantastic!
Drove over from Rochester for a change of scenery and we are thrilled we stopped here! Such a fun spot! The beer was delicious and the service was beyond incredible. This is a must stop in Wabasha.
Highly recommend. Tasty beer, amazing pizza, top notch environment. The owners are amazing and instantly make you feel at home. Great outdoor environment and the garage/indoor space is pretty cool too. Come check this place out.

This brewery is amazing! I was ecstatic to drive by the building and catch a glimpse of the sign that said "Back Alley Brewing Co". YES. So happy there's finally a brewery in Wabasha! And not just any brewery with any old beer... Ford (head brewer) makes incredible beers! We tasted the Mango Milkshake IPA, the Triple Black IPA, the Salted Caramel Milk Stout, and the Bourbon Barrel Aged Belgian Dark Ale. I'd give each one 5/5 stars. He knows how to brew! The tap room is so cozy and inviting. The pizzas there are delicious. You have to order one! Brenda and Ford are so much fun - engaging, quirky, easy-going, and down to earth. There are games to play and a TV to watch sports. I can't wait to come back to sit outside at the picnic tables and enjoy a brew in the fresh air. Thanks for an unforgettable experience and addictively delicious beers!
Brenda and Ford are amazing! The atmosphere of the brew pub is fun and energetic, and friendly. From the moment you walk in they treat you like they've known you for years. The beer is unique and so TASTY. They definitely put thought and creativity in their brew! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

We have been to a large number of breweries, and Hoppy Girl is one of our favorites. Ford brews great beer with a great variety. We didn't try one we didn't like. And the atmosphere is amazing, even though socially distant. And we will have to come back and try one of the tents!! Our glasses were never empty. Thanks Brenda and Ford!
First time at hoppy girl and it's my favorite place for a small town brewery
We had a fantastic time at this little brewery. The owners were amazing and we will definitely be back to stay at the bed and breakfast!!! They were very accommodating, had great games to play, kid friendly, great pizza, records playing and basketball games on...we will for sure be back and will spread the word about this little gem.
We stopped here on a lark after a short trip over to Wisconsin. So glad we did. As self-proclaimed "beer tourists", we admittedly were mildly concerned when we pulled up to Turning Waters B&B and wondered aloud "Is...is it in the garage?"
Yes...yes it is. And it's like that bar-in-a-garage conversion you wish you had the guts to do yourself. This is a great little spot with some pretty remarkable beers - with obvious appeal to a hop-lover. Totally subverting our nano-brewery expectations, these recipes were clearly tuned and refined to a beer-lover's palate, including interesting and creative infusions that elevated the brews rather than coming off as errant shots in the dark.
You're a new pitstop on our traditional Great River Road hikes, Hoppy Girl Brewing - looking forward to bellying up again!

Ford and Brenda brew excellent beer and the bar area is such a fun experience. We stayed in their Turning Waters Bed and Breakfast which is right next door. It was so cool to have a Tap Room on site.

Best beer in town! Ford always has something new and unique on tap. The Juicy Double IPA and the Strawberry Ale with marshmallow cream are awesome. If you're in the area, definitely stop at Hoppy Girl!

Small, fun and inviting. We were immediately greeted by Brenda and Ford who then introduced us to everyone else in the place. Loved their knowledge of brewing and willingness to answer our questions. Beer was great; not all about IPAs which was delicious relief. We will be back.
By far the best beer I've ever had! It is a must everytime I'm in Wabasha! Brenda and Ford are so much fun, and did I say geniuses I can't wait to see how they grow and hope to be able to buy their beer outside the brewery one day!

We love this place! The staff are some of the kindest people you will meet. The ambiance outside is so relaxing and welcoming. To top it all off the beer is amazing. We love the hard seltzer as well.
Hoppy Girl Brewing is excellent destination! The beer is very well crafted. The IPAs were terrific and included some of the trendy NE juicy versions. The Berliner was tasty. But my favorite was an excellent RIS! Great work Ford and Brenda!

Fun & unique place. Liked the live music. Beer was ok. Good if you like flavored beer. Favorite was -- think it was called triple x black ipa.
Before we stopped by we checked out their website and they had a massive list of IPAs, including Milkshake which immediately spiked my interest. When we went there my expectations were low, but they met and exceeded by a long shot! Their Milkshake IPAs were perfect. I feel today that breweries use that category loosely; creamy, hoppy and delicious! If you live in SE Minnesota HIGHLY recommend, well worth the drive and we ll definitely be back for more!
We love going to Hoppy Girl Brewery! Ford and Brenda are always very welcoming and very knowledgeable about what they serve! We go as a family, my husband doesn t drink, but they have options for him and our 3 year old loves the ice cream Brenda gives her and the chalk to keep her busy!

One of the best small craft breweries in the area. Ford and Brenda are friendly and helpful. The beer is outrageously good. They often have live music and even now during all the covid regulations, strive for great service and safety. Well worth the trip to Wabasha.

We had a great visit to Hoppy Girl! Everyone was so friendly! The beer was outstanding! A good problem to have- they were packed! Poor Brenda needed help! Overall though, great place and we will return!!
Such a cool place with really good brews. We really like them all so much and everyone is so friendly (owners and locals alike). A word of warning, Brenda is the only person allowed to put LPs on the turntable.

Not only do Ford and Brenda showcase an awesome, ever-changing lineup of craft brews, their hospitality is second to none. The brand of pizzas they serve is excellent. And, speaking as a lifetime musical performer (Brenda calls me their "resident musician") they really know how to make someone feel appreciated. I've played hundreds of venues and this one is just incredible. I recommend this place to everyone I know.
Surprised to find some amazing craft beers down in Wabasha. Ford is a bit of a secret master at brewing unique and artistic beers. Not all were my cup of tea but they were done well and I found a few favorites. Brenda could teach masters level courses in hospitality, a natural at making you feel welcome and making sure your glass is full.
Wonderful friendly place, really enjoyed the Pilsner and the service. Perfect stop for touring cyclists like me.
