Wow, I just called Northstar about a past student loan that has been forgiven due to disability and these scam artists tried to get money out of me while I am in a wheelchair and on SSI and make $690 a month. He told me I was being to sarcastic for him when I said what I make each month to him and asked him what he would like me to do. Then he proceeded to hang up on me! Who does that?? This is very bad business Northstar! And stop harassing the handicapped to pay back loans that have already been discharged due to disability!

Very bad company, I had a bad experience with them, they collected my debt and then I could not communicate with them

I was going to apply here but I have severe moral objection to any and all debt collectors.

This company called and left a voicemail on my daughter's phone. She is a High School Math Teacher in a High Needs School as well as the Assistant Athletic Director and works a little over 80 hours per week. She gave me a Power of Attorney to handle anything that needed daytime workday handling as she is unavailable. I called them back not even knowing who or what this is about and spoke to a Supervisor named Jason and informed him that we need to know who/what this is about before we go any further. He was unable to assist me, but gave me a fax number to have to POA sent to - but that fax number is a voicemail line. I had asked him for 15 minutes to get him an Authorization so he should consider this a Cease and Desist from calling my daughter directly. They called my daughter less than 2 minutes later. I just told her to block the phone number and I will send the POA directly via Certified US Mail. They might not be bad people, but they DO need to follow the Rules and Regulations of their industry. Now I will make sure they do.

They initially sent me a letter for a settlement amount, then less than days later (within the same month), they called and tried to get me to settle for an amount $5000 MORE than the amount they sent me letter for??? Plus the actual owed balance they had listed in the letter was almost $3000 MORE than I actually owed. Something is clear shady with this company!!!

Worst company ever. Even collection agency should hire people with brain and people skills

These idiots kept calling about my ex-husband's debt.

Rude I was talking to a representative who yelled at me cut me off and hung up on me. She also is documenting false information on my case.

Zero stars. The worst customer service I ve ever dealt with in my life. I seriously don t know how these people sleep at night. Either seek legal advice or resolve your debt as quickly as possible.

I don't owe any money on any bills. I haven't had debt in years, except when paying off my car, but I paid that off 18 months ago. Yet, they are calling and harassing me without telling me what I owe money for.

If it was possible to give ZERO stars, I would. This scum sucking collection agency calls our company repeatedly for someone who is not here, fishing for information. They are rude and abusive. They use threats and intimidation to try and get the information they want. They are the lowest of the low. We have asked them to stop and yet they continue. Have filed a complaint with the Feds.

I have zero debt but this company is calling me AT WORK. Why? A complete nuisance and they will be reported.

They told me they were Capital One ( no mention of "Northstar")and that I could work out a structured payment plan for my capital one debt. Then I see charges from Northstar against my checking account. I have tried three times to call them to stop payment, and all I finally get to are pond scum. Disrespectful, rude, yelling, hanging up on me. Do Not Under any circumstances deal with them. Total scumbags. What they do is illegal.

Never had a problem was late on payment paid them they took care of it and lowered it so yeah it was a pain in the beginning because I know who they were and they called my cell phone all day long I took care of it and I never had to bother with them again thank you Jesus

If I could give zero stars, I would. I have been harassed multiple times. Every single time the guy calls me, I tell him that, no, I am not the girl he is looking for, and that I have had my phone number for over six years. He says I'll be taken off the call list, but then two days later, I'm being called again.

This collection company failed to report my faithful and consistent payments to the credit bureaus. Also they have failed to report accurate information. I thought it was an easy set up at first, in order to pay off my debt, but they're not even reporting it. I would not recommend anyone to give them their Credit Card information.

Honestly they are very nice and very willing to work with you. Especially when you forget things as often as I do and end up getting an early morning call, doh! They are very prompt about letting you know if something comes up and very willing to work with you on payments. The very nice woman who handles my account and I have great rapport, love when I get the chance to talk to her. Makes all my screw ups not so bad. Everybody I have talked to there has been incredibly nice and understanding!
