The Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa Review

The Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa is very nice, privately run hotel with upscale furnishings and an attentive staff. It is on par with the Accor Hotel group. We couldn't get a sea-view room but that's primarily because it was a last-minute reservation request. The restaurant is lovely and spacious. We always had very nice seating and the waitstaff was personable and didn't rush us nor were they obtrusive. Our stay was a memorable one.

We think that it is hotel where we can spend relaxed time.

The location is great, staff are friendly. But they overcharged so trying to get that fixed is a pain.

I did not stay there. I mean, just go inside, but it's very beautiful.

Great hotel right on the Pacific. The view from the rooms was gigantic ... all top maintained ... the evening meal and breakfast were also worth the price.

An upscale hotel, nice atmosphere. Gorgeous views of the Bay. Misty and foggy most of the time on the porches.

Rooms are fabulous! Service is wonderful! Prices are to match, but that is to be expected with a hotel of this caliber. I would highly recommend an ocean-view room, as it is well-worth the upgrade fee. The restaurants on-site are also excellent. Finally, if you are in search of a wedding venue, you would be hard-pressed to find one more magical than this!

Great service, restaurant included. Ocean view rooms practically guarantee views of the sea otters (binoculars included in room). Decor is starting to look a little dated in the rooms. A refresh in this area would warrant 5 stars.

The spa was great took wifey we had the couples experience.need to make another appointment soon.

On the water of Monterey bay. Near the aquarium, shops, etc. Has excellent spa and bar. Service was outstanding during my stay.

Rooftop pool is nice. Get a room with a view of the Bay.

Top-Notch probably nicest hotel/spa to stay in Monterey. The views are amazing, the staff is attentive and delightful. Laura the concierge makes things happen and should get a raise! This place is a dream! The valets and complimentary shuttles make you feel like you simply don't have to lift a finger. Can't say enough about the experience, the ambience, the restaurant, and staff at the Blue Vista Spa... Amazing! You know it's good when you don't just love the experience, but when you are dying to go back! Thank you!

Best place to stay in Monterey in my opinion. The rooms are great and the on site restaurant is top of the line. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

The hotel was very well-kept and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had lunch in the restaurant when I arrived and the food was excellent. The View is spectacular when the fog isn't there. It was the little things that made the hotel so nice like chocolates and water at my bedside. The bed was pulled down later at night and the curtains closed. It was a very enjoyable stay

Beautifully situated on Monterey Bay, beautifully constructed and furnished, courteous and friendly staff. We loved our room and beautiful bathroom and hated to leave.

I stayed overnight at the Monterey plaza hotel for work... it was an unbelievable experience and a luxurious one at that. I can't wait for my next visit to Monterey, I'm definitely planning to stay here again.

This hotel in the center of street , there are so many interesting store around the hotel.

La Estrada has great pastries...they are really good!!! And they serve Pete's Coffee, which is a great combination to sit out in the patio and enjoy the beautiful ocean view.

I enjoyed staying at the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa. Everyone was so nice. The room was really beautiful, as was our view. Me and my boyfriend ordered room service, and they mixed our orders up. He likes his plain with cheese and a little pink, and I like mine with everything on it well done, yep they manage to make mine a little pink and has very well done. Overall the food was really good. I would say the only complaint I had was, when I asked what was in the fruit bowl that they serve as a side they told me specific fruits that were in it and yet when I got it it had different varieties in it. It wouldn't have been a big deal if I wasn't allergic to melon. I didn't eat it but I was disappointed. I loved this hotel and enjoyed being here I would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

We ate at Schooners Restaurant inside the Monterey Plaza Hotel. It's pretty good. The view is very pretty, but the food isn't spectacular. It wasn't too busy at lunch, I assume it's because it's not right in the middle of Cannery Row.

Come here for work trips mostly and it s beautiful every time. Great views, nice rooms, and friendly staff. Didn t particularly think Schooners restaurant was that great but the food served during the work conference buffets was all delicious. The only downside is rooms that butt the neighboring restaurant experience a lot of noise during the night. Delivery trucks coming in nonstop make it hard to sleep through the night. Don t really know if the hotel can do much about that but it definitely detracts from the experience considering how much it costs to stay here.

Good stay. Lost my eye glasses somewhere. Had to call about 8 times over 2 days to get connected to lost and found to get some type of response. Left my info but no one followed up to let me know if they found it or not

Good location. Lots of things to do near by. Rooms were nice and lots of places to hang out. Not the best views from rooms, but super close to everything we wanted to do.

Beautiful hotel on the water. The resort charge includes valet parking which makes it pretty reasonable.
