The Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa Review

If anybody is searching for great deals for hotels head to . booked a resort on there and these guys had the lowest prices anywhere!

Best service ever, clean rooms, totally worth every penny. Can't wait for them to fully open. Views from balcony are out of this world. Sadly didn't try their restaurant, but that's in the future. I'm sure it will be amazing. I wish I could give them 10 STARS, they deserve it

Being right on the ocean is just what you need. Make sure to grab a bike and ride along the ocean. You won't regret it. The cafe has one of the best chocolate croissants I've had.

Am having a great stay here. Beautiful location. Great food. Great staff. Had a problem with a very noisey neighboring room and Laura at the front desk really helped us out.

Came here for a dinner at Schooners. The restaurants food was good and the service was pretty amazing too. The view of the Bay is awesome as there was a few sea lions swimming by during our dinner. I'd definitely come here anytime I'm trying to celebrate something.

We were lucky enough to run into Colleen who was an exceptional manager at Schooners, the restaurant onsite. She provided exceptional hospitality to our family that I feel is lost these days. The hotel staff should also be commended throughout our stay, but Colleen went above and beyond.

Went to the restaurant though, only valet parking available but the staffs are not that friendly.

This place has some ridiculously attentive staff. I'm pretty sure our sheets were made at least twice a day, and one day my father left a pair of sunglasses on the desk; one of the staff noticed that it must have had smudges, so they left a hotel branded microfiber cloth under the sunglasses. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the view was great too! Highly recommended, especially if you can somehow swing a discounted rate.

Location is perfect, and the spa is awesome. Food is great although it's on the smaller portion size.

Overall the hotel is nice and in a good location. They also have some bikes they can rent out for free to guests, which is a plus. The downside for our stay was that we paid to upgrade to a water view room, but the room happened to be right under where the jacuzzi was located on the top floor of the hotel. This meant that every time the jets would turn on (which was pretty much throughout the whole day), there would be a constant rumbling. This was not an issue during the day, but trying to sleep in in the morning was not really possible. Looking back, we should have said something earlier, but it wasn't really something that bothered us during the day. When mentioned at checkout to the front desk, they did apologize, but that was it. So heads up for those that get room 1421. It has a great view, but just beware of the noise if you plan on sleeping in and napping during the day.

Great Atmosphere... the staff was courteous and helpful... always had a smile... the rooms were clean and well kept ... the ocean view and dining was the cherry on top kind of experience... made an almost awkward social gathering easy breazy

Nice but busy and has too many tourists, a tourist vibe...

I was here for a wedding: We started outside on the balcony. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. Next, we went inside for their dinner service and the dinner was exceptional and the room was also very comfortable. I don't know how much it cost to put this on but the whole event space is very nice if you're planning on having a wedding here.

Attended a conference here and loved it. The catering service is excellent and the views are stunning.

A little disappointed in the room.Ask for a ground floor(more than a month in advance ) and they put us on the 4th floor looking out the balcony at an old cement wall.

The Monterey Plaza Hotel was a pleasant surprise. A great value. Very courteous staff from valet to restaurant. The view of the sunrise from the restaurant window during a wonderful breakfast topped off the enjoyment of out way too shot visit (see attached photo). Will definitely return.

We watched seals and sea otters through the hotel-provided binoculars every morning of our stay - this place is lovely! Very reasonably priced for the amenities and service. Easy walking (the hotel also has bikes) to the aquarium, and a protected path past the harbor to fisherman's wharf and downtown, though it is about a mile. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Surrounded by a furnished terrace with an open fire, the Monterey Plaza is on Cannery Row and has a wonderful view of the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy boutiques, bakeries, and cafes. Pebble and Carmel by the Sea is less than a 15 minutes away.

Ate at Schooners. The service was Fantastic. And the food was delicious.

Beautiful hotel! The staff goes above and beyond for you, polite and courteous. The rooms and premises are immaculately clean and tastefully decorated. I really enjoyed my stay here.

The place is very expensive and it is not worth it there are better ones with lower prices and better customer service.

Perfect location, excellent service. They let us check in early and out late and didn't charge us even though we were much later than we planned. Highly recommend!

Excellent location and beautiful hotel. For families just note that there is not an actual pool but two hot tubs. Also, they are located at the back of the property. The beachside hot tubs with the views are part of the spa so you have to pay extra and children are not allowed.

Great conference center. Right on the water, with a beautiful outdoor terrace overlooking the Monterey Bay. Lots of shops along Cannery Row. Accommodations are excellent, roomy, and pleasant, helpful staff.

I was walking the wharf and saw this beautiful view of the ocean and it took me through the Monterey Plaza. Gorgeous decor, amazing views; I felt like I was transported into another time. So peaceful and relaxing, this is where I'm staying the next time I visit.

Google result says pet friendly, but hotel website specifies it is not. Update your amenities please.

I've always wanted to go to Monterey and I booked this trip during Easter Weekend but never got a chance to review. It was a long journey getting there but it was worth it. This hotel is absolutely beautiful and the location is spot on. Fairly close to the aquarium (walking distance). Rooms are cozy, and the staff was helpful. Valet can get busy but no major issues. You can call in advance to pick-up your vehicle and it's part of the resort fee. I can't get over the view. They were renovating the spa when I was there so I guess that means I should make a trip back once it's complete ;)

This hotel is very luxurious, and has the best views of any hotel I have stayed. It is a great location, walking distance to many shops.

Everything about this place was amazing. Customer service is fantastic. Vallet parking which is free for overnight guests was so convenient! The rooms were so clean and beautiful that both my wife and I couldn't stop talking about them. We only stayed one night but we wish we could have stayed a month! There was also free WiFi in the rooms. Needless to say we'll definitely be coming back!

Nice hotel perfectly located next to the aquarium.
The view of the sea is beautiful.
The room is very well equipped with hair dryer, ironing board, fridge ...
Parking is free and valet parking is perfect.
The check in and check out (11 hours) went quickly and with a smile.

Two night stay in queen (smaller than standard queen). Great ocean views from many rooms. Ours overlooked the courtyard area, so it was a bit noisy sometimes. Schooners (restaurant) in hotel was good and not horribly overpriced.

This hotel is absolutely breathtaking! Came here for a conference and was taken aback by the views from the downstairs areas. The restroom and all meeting rooms were lovely and clean as well. We had lunch provided on the outside top deck and the food was delicious!!! Everything about this place from location to appearance was awesome.

Location is right on the water. Could hear the sounds of the ocean all day and night. Nothing like going to sleep to the sound of the ocean waves crashing. Watched harbor seals play right outside our window in the morning. So cool. Room are nice and clean. Service is top notch!

It all comes together here and we just left san fran.

Beautiful views right next to the ocean with rates to match. If you want to be in the middle of it all, this is the place for you.
