In December of 2017 I was pulled over By PSP For possibly a DUI. I was arrested and charged with it in the End. I hired an Attorney Downtown Harrisburg and consulted in their services, we went to local District justice and the guy they sent talked me into Pleading guilty with loss of license for 90 days Not knowing I would lose My CDL portion after that for a year and there was no way we could afford that and I didn't think it was right for me to look into it and find that out for a 1st offense and Clean record on my own.

Do not hire this firm!!!! I cannot even express the horrible customer service and rudeness that we experienced during my husband's DUI. His attorney Jason wasn't even knowledgeable concerning the DUI process and filing, ect..causing my husband an EXTRA 30 DAYS incarceration due to his blunders; including misfiled paperwork. The office manager is unconcerned and smug, and if you attempt to contact Mcshane himself, you get nowhere, as we suppose he is too busy selling his firm on YouTube. They promise money back if you don't go to trial, but that is NOT TRUE. This firm is ALL about the money. Please look elsewhere and save yourself the extra money, time, and stress. Thanks.
Update: Not long after I wrote this review I actually got a threatening phone call from the office manager, attempting to discredit our experience and this post, and actually SUE/bill us for our opinion. He stated by posting a review, you give them the right to discuss/rebute your case in this forum! Disturbing and unprofessional to say the least. Beware.

I am a criminal defense attorney in Florida and have had the opportunity to work with Justin McShane at conferences, hear him speak and teach me. I have watched him do sample arguments and questioning of witnesses. He has such an in depth understanding of the law, the inner workings of how to defend a case using science, and above all passion. I have been dealing with my case for almost 2 years. It may seem like a long time but that is how the state is. It's a BIG waiting game. Half of the wait was not our fault. I cannot thank them enough for the outcome of my case. Attorney Tim Barrouk was dealing with a client who was on edge, never been arrested, and didn t trust him 100% in the beginning, but he came recommended so he was my lawyer. I remember offering to hire a second attorney to help and he reassured me he had it under control. After a while it appeared I made a great choice. He knew the pros & cons of every judge my case was assigned to, he knew when to talk and when to listen in court, he didn t let me take a bad deal, never pressured me, and responded to every text or call I ever placed to him. Cathi Lee kept me updated on where to be and when to be there. and was always available also. I was facing an Aggravated Assault charge causing serious bodily injury, simple assault, unlawful restraint, and 4 other misdemeanor charges and facing up to 10+ years in state prison. I never denied what I did and there was even video of me doing it. At the end of the day, All my charges were dropped and replaced with one summary offense of disorderly conduct and I was sentenced to pay a $25 fine plus court costs. Tim was always honest, and even told me flat out, these charges fit what you did but your case is triable and we re gonna work for the best outcome. There were no promises or bs, just facts and business. Thank you Tim and the rest of The McShane Firm for getting me justice and not letting me get lost in the system.

Fully agree with Sara S as they will not help you with your legal problems and as in my case they will likely end up COSTING you more money. Be careful about the pricing especially as they try to hide the amount that they will charge you when your case goes to trial. The initial charge is just for them to show up for your initial hearing, from there be prepared to be broke. As I also said, they will likely end up costing you money. In my case because my attorney (and it amazes me that he even is allowed to be an attorney with the way he handled my case) was too lazy to simply call and provide me with the details on when my next court case was, I not only got to spend an extra night in jail, but had to pay $1000 for something not my fault. If that isn't bad enough, the McShane Firm is so insanely greedy that even though it was their fault they are still trying to charge me another $500 for a no show fee.

I was also passed around to 4 different attorneys throughout the process and it was readily apparent that none of them except the 2nd one (who not surprisingly left the McShane Firm) cared about me or my case as they repeatedly asked for the same basic information over and over (ie: wife's name, how many children, etc). I was treated as if I was a loser who is a drain on society even though I'm a healthcare professional who helps with charities, has a loving family who I take care of, and am a military veteran to say the least.

Please feel free to contact me if you are considering them and would like details on how they really treat their clients. Oh, one last thing, before you go believing some of the other reviews that speak highly of them, please know that they contacted me even before they had done anything about my case and said they would give me $50 if I gave them a good review online. That's blatant bribery and it sounds like they know the work they do is shoddy, so they try to get the reviews before the truth is seen.

I was facing my 2nd DUI, highest tier because of a blood test refusal (I was willing to take a breathalyzer test, but they were out for blood) which would have totally ruined my life as I know it. I had a tough case that could have gone either way. Tim Barrouk stalemated the toughest DA in Cumberland county and a liar of a cop called "Top Gun DUI Guy". The cop's story didn't match up with the video, and it seems the older jury members believed the cop no matter what, but the younger ones believed their eyes. My trial was the longest DUI trial in county history, which ended in a hung jury, even though we were forced to go to trial without the expert witnesses we were planning on bringing. After trying for 2 years to convict me, and not wanting to go through it all again ,Big Brother Government came back with a plea bargain where I would take 1st DUI, lowest tier, no loss of license (and they said only a $300 fine, but the state sent me a bill for $1600). This firm is expensive but THEY WILL FIGHT FOR YOU, not just escort you through the unconstitutional DUI money-making racket. Their office staff is always on the ball, and the only reason I'm deducting a point is their "collection agency" is all over you if you're late on your payments even a day. This is no reflection on the job Tim did.

If you need defense of anything other than a DUI do not hire this firm. Timothy Barrouk is a lazy attorney. No prep before trial and during trial he looked like a deer in head lights. He is delusional about his trial skills. You would be better off representing yourself and saving the money. It is sad when a law student knew how to handle the case better than this "seasoned" lawyer. He is all bark and no bite. If you DO decide to go with this law firm STEER clear of this lawyer, he is more buck, but less bang. Do not go to trial with Timothy Barrouk, because like his suits, he is ill fitted for court. You are warned! Proceed with Caution.

Recently concluded a very complicated DUI case that took an entire year to fully resolve. During this time, Attorney Shawn Dorward showed unwavering determination to achieve the resolution I wanted. There were countless times throughout this process that required us to regroup, rethink, and implement a new course of action.
