Such a beautiful historic opera house. The show was so good and kids can rally enjoy as well.

The Matthews Opera House, besides being a BEAUTIFULLY restored jewel-box theatre, is the cultural hub of Spearfish. They provide an art gallery, plays (both professional and community), live music, lectures... It's a gorgeous venue, and you would miss out if you didn't visit.

Love this place! I have been to numerous plays here over the years, but the 2019-2020 season has featured some spectacular productions. "Veronica's Room" and "Bright Star" were two of my favorite productions I've EVER seen. Can't wait to see what this next year brings...considering buying a season pass.

I won Best of Show at the Winter Art Show both in 2014 and now 2018. The Matthews always has a great selection of local artists and activities that all lovers of the humanities can enjoy and participate in.

A great place to catch a show. From music, to art, too community theater.

The concert at 4 pm on December 12,2020 was awesome. It has a elevator to get to 2nd floor for those who need it.

We attended the Phantom of the Mathews House Opera and loved it. Performance was awesome and the performers did a great job of encouraging the audience to get into it and participate. It was cool how they incorporated the local culture and geography into it as well.

A group of us Volunteers from DC Booth Historic Fish Hatchery enjoyed The Phantom of The Matthew's Opera House. Great humorous show, lots of audience participation. Mostly local Black Hills State University students and they all did a wonderful job. Highly recommend visiting this beautiful theater and enjoy a great show.

Very nice show. It would have been helpful, though, if someone could have introduced the show, giving a rundown of the premise of the show, and to explain that the audience needs to be part of the show. We were with friends who didn't get it for quite awhile. I think you could have had more audience participation.

Beautiful place, and they bring in some fantastic events.

Lots of local works on display, Very friendly and enthusiastic staff, and theatre was open for viewing which was fun to see.
