Amazing place. It's a good idea to visit it on weekend, and than hike around - there are some nice trails there!
We happen to just discover this by driving through Marin I was so happy we took the tour it was great all the volunteers there are so awesome and amazing thank you for all your wonderful work
Great to see people working in conservation. Kind of difficult to see, but that is not why they are there. They are saving marine mammals. Not a zoo.
The work that is done here by the staff is remarkable. Please donate!
An excellent place to go for information about marine mammals
They provide a great service to the community but they are rescue-focused and not visitor-focused. So while the tour is informative and interesting, it is not very long or full of interactive displays so you'll find yourself looking for more to do in the area.
They do amazing work caring for wildlife. There is a self guided map, an audio tour, and groups can come. The only issue was that most of the parking is down a steep hill and it was difficult to push the stroller up it.
A unique educational place, you learn while relaxed - in a beautiful environment. Free parking, wheelchair access.
Gorgeous spot with tons for kids! The hiking around the area is fantastic, too!
This is an amazing organization. The staff and volunteers we're helpful, engaging, and passionate. They're doing amazing work and the tour is well with the cost.
I didn't see anything .. so many people and animals were tucked away.
We'll worth a visit. They do amazing work and need support
Very friendly staff. They clearly describe about what they do and they hand over a map to check the place. Its beautiful place and best place to know about seals. They have a small gift shop too. Very neatly maintained.
Great place to visit ! Enjoyed seeing this area where this center helps the Bay Area Sea Life.
A not to miss in the Bay area. Very educational and beautiful views!
Amazing work is being done here. Field trips are super fun! But you won't see a lot of animals
You get to see what work is done to protect the seas, sea lions and whales of the bay. You don't see the animals up close but from a platform; this is so the animals aren't stressed out by visitors. It is very well run. I'd definitely recommend the $10 tour as you get to hear a bit more about what goes on behind the scenes.
They are a hidden treasure of the Bay Area. It is a great place for a fun and educational day trip with kids or people that love animals.
Very educational. Good exhibits. Take the tour. Picnic tables there.
With free entry you can watch the staff in the care of the sick animals. Very informative. Very friendly questions are answered.
Nice beach-side location and very interesting story for adults and older kids, but not much to see. Not a zoo, which is great for animals but a little boring for tiny ones.
this a great place to go with kids and family, you can learn a lot here, clean nice parking and a great staff
The work done here is inspiring and very professional. This is a model for marine mammal conservation and rehabilitation that the rest of the world should follow.
Amazing work protecting these beautiful and necessary predators.
A fun place to learn about the sea mammels and how there are good people working to save them from human damage and harm. Great place to bring kids.
Absolutely incredible care for the animals, with great detail for each mammal!
Nice little clinic that deals with injured or distressed marine mammals. The visit is quick and inexpensive. Do not expect to see many seals, since they are recovering. The guides are passionate.
Great place to visit and see all the good work being done for the marine mammals
Really appreciate them for the work they are doing for the injured and sick animals
Great work that they do for the marine mammals here!
Great facility. Very clean neat and informative. Being a mom I will be slightly biased in my opinion. Dont take younger kids there as its not a zoo. Not a lot of animals there though that is a good thing since all are injured.
Overall great facility and loved exploring a new place and learning more about what is done there.
No cell phone reception there. (TMobile)So plan ahead.
The Marine Mammal Center is the largest marine mammal hospital in the world. Open to the public, you can check out the sea lions being cared for from the viewing deck. We were there around noon on a weekend and watched the sea lions being fed. This was a very educational experience for people of all ages.
They do great work and have a nice visitor experience
Very nice place if you are into helping animals/mammals who are in distress.
This place is interesting for adults and kids. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. It also has terrific views of the Pacific Ocean and coast. Easy parking and a picnic table with a view. And no admission fee.
What a wonderful job they're doing for the seals. Go give em money so they can do it better.
-you can watch seals, they sound like velociraptors
-fantastic classroom area with skeletons and videos.
-giant elephant seal statue!
First stumbled upon this place on our way to the beach nearly thirty years ago. What a transformation to the current state in the intervening years owing to key donors - thank you.
Good for school students who wish to explore summer opportunities for eco-friendly best practices while caring for baby pinnipeds.
The souvenir shop is a good place for a win-win event for casual visitors as well as the facility.
Definitely worth going to if you are visiting the Marin Headlands.
Brought nephews here decades ago as part of road trip from LA. It was pretty basic back then but the kids were fascinated by the experience. Later they had a blast storming Rodeo beach and it's hillsides.
The people and the cause is great here. It's nice to see people do the right thing with wild life.
Pretty cool to see the animals that they're rehabilitating here. There's not a lot to see our tour, but the staff is very friendly and willing to talk all about what they do there. Not the best place for young kids because it's not very exciting and there's a lot more information than viewing of animals.
I'd been dying to check it out. Not as cool as I had hoped.
Just had time to run in and zip through, but I'd love to go again! Help support their efforts and educate yourself in the process! Would definitely be a good place to take kids on a field trip.
Great field trip for older kids. Understand what trash and toxins do to our oceans - view the patients of the center - usually sea lions and seals
Love this place! They're doing amazing work to help these animals get back to their homes. Take the guided tour and prepare to learn!
Had a great time and learned a lot on the guided tour, was fun to watch the animals in rehabilitation and the gift store is full of great marine mammal merch which all goes towards helping fund more animal rescue! Fantastic experience.
The modest tour fees support their work. It's a working hospital, so you can see everything to a kid habituation to humans. The behind-the-scenes tour does take you beyond where the basic tour goes. The volunteers are very passionate about their work. Definitely an interesting visit.
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. This place is definitely worth visiting for both adults and children. It s educational and inspiring. Had a great time!
Amazing place to learn a bit about their wonderful work saving sea life. Don't forget to donate, they are an independent org.
Marine mammel center in Marin county does a great job of tending to the sick and injured seals, sea lions, and walres. An interesting place to visit, and to learn
Not a ton to see and do here, but for a first time experience is decent. Run mainly by volunteers - all of them are informative and kind. Free entry is great. The whole experience should take you about 30 minutes.
This place is truly a Hidden Gem! They Rescue all kinds of animals that live in the ocean or on the beach when people see they need help. They nurse them back to health and then release back into the wild. Their pens are clean, the people are caring, the tour they give you is for free, and only ask for donation to keep the place up. If local, you can even sign up to go on the rescues with them. Don't miss this place!
Great effort but the on-site tours are a bit disappointing; you barely see the animals.
Not much to see - animals are far away in cages. They are doing great job treating animals, but it's just not very interesting for regular visitors. It's free if you can resist requests for donations.
They do good work saving marine wildlife, very educational. Great place for schools to check out in person or via virtual classrooms.
This is an awesome place. I recommend this place for the whole family! Make the time to see it for yourself.
Wonderful tours that give you a behind the scenes look at the preservation of marine mammals.
This organization does amazing things for marine life as well as allowing you to observe the seals they are helping. I highly recommend you visit.
Discovered this hidden gem in the Bay Area. Accolade to the volunteers who save and cure the sick and injured seals saved from the ocean. To make patients going back to the nature after they recover, staff do not pet and bond with the patients. Free entry and strongly suggest donations.
Like this place and the kind of work all these people do.
They do great things here... Thank You all for what you... Especially Jess
Awesome little center to view marine animals and to learn about how to protect them!
The Marine Mammal Center makes me proud. Great place to educate yourself and friends on marine mammals. This place is a working facility that focuses on Marin Mammal care and releasing. This place supports marine mammals throughout California and beyond.
Interesting place, small practical place! You can obviously stay as long as you like but you can perfectly go in and out in 15 min.
I would recommend to plan this as a stop before going to the near beach or the Point Bonita Lighthouse.
Sadly you will see the damage we have created to the Ocean with all of our plastic
