We ve been using them for years but this is the second time now they ve been below par and we will look for a new chippy. The food (when it eventually got cooked) was ok but it was chaos, with a 30 min plus wait from order to collection. The counter staff didn t seem to know what was going on and were understaffed and clearly stressed. I don t mind queuing for a bit at peak time, and have done so on many occasions previously, but this was disorganised chaos.

Really traditional fish and chip restaurant and takeaway.

Disappointing! Usually have a very good experience here so was surprised to receive chips that were sporadically hard, soggy and tasted like old potatoes! Usually very good so may have just been an off day!

Second time if going here. Saturday evening so very busy but well organised and wait was not to long. Food absolutely excellent.

Good value fish and chips. Close to Preston seafront. Its open for around 60 hours per week. Lovely.

Been using this place for years. There is usually a wait but that's because the food is cooked that order and of course how busy it is. When I go anywhere away from home I judge how good a place is by how many locals use it, if it's busy it's good.

We drove from Essex to get fish and chips from the London Fryer and it did not disappoint. We uust made it before closing and it was worth every mile.

The famous "fish & chips" of the region. The room is small but you can also take away and the staff is very friendly.

Chips tasted like old potatoes and most of them were hard, the sausages were nice though!

Lucky for this "plaice" they gave a good double portion of cod to make up for the "King cod" as advertised on the menu...the "jumbo battered sausage" came as two small battered sausage which if people don't realise is actually smaller than a standard jumbo... Next in line is the request for lots and lots of vinegar clearly went amiss either that or the vinegar gets filled back up from the tap and the final part that really blew my mind the bottle of coke was warmer than a rabbits heart! Will never purchase from here again, such a shame as it's quite tasty...

Placed a telephone order at 5.30 to pick up for 6pm. Served everyone that came in after me and waited till gone 6.20 to get our food.
No point phoning as food is not cooked until you get there!

Waiting in the curb for almost an hour while they only seem to be serving people who ordered for delivery, won't be going here again.

Phoned order through but not registered when I got there. Then waited 30 minutes only to find that still not done. Only gave 2 because fish and chips were excellent

I Have used the"London Fryer for many,many , years & have always had excellent food but the fish & chips were definitely not up to their usual standard this time. I commented that they were actually the worse fish & chips l have ever had. I think they had been reheated.!!!

after calling to have fish and chips in the eating area which are always very good we had a long wait which would have been ok ,the order was taken straight away ,after 10 mins another customer came in and his fish and chips was served before us then 4 people came in sat down and there order was taken and served 15mins later we were told our fish and chips were on the way after complaining ,the first person left at this point having eaten ,he had ordered 10 mins after us we finally were served 50 mins after we arrived the waitress apologised and said they had sold our 2 pieces of haddock which was fish of the day and said they would discount the price ,this was not the issue all we expect is to be teated fairly i don't think we were having 2 tables served before us

Our local chippy. Always reliable in terms of great quality food. Service is good and even at the busiest times you never have to wait too long

The fish n chips are faultless very tasty homemade chips and crunchy batter on the fish, the curry sauce is highly recommended.

Fantastic fish and chips. They made the most delicious gluten free cod and chips for me without charging any extra. Large portions and friendly staff.Also has a sit down area with waitress service

Been coming to this shop for many years , can recommend , as sometimes the queuing is out the shop, very popular. toilets OK not wheelchair friendly step to enter shop.

Allroud good place,, you can take out /eat in. Food is great. Long que but it shows how good it is. I had large cod lovely. Also do good mushy peas. Just would like a choice to have mint in them so I carry a jar in car. Staff are always busy but seem to thrive on the details of service and costomer with there orders fish n chips.

Always seem to take too many orders at a time meaning then that the waiting/entrance is chaos and get rid of all those hideous decorations !

Another cracking take away tonight,well worth the trip from Newton Abbot ,only ever go where, stick with the BEST YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE.

I have to agree with the reviewer of a week ago. The whole meal was dry, cold, clearly leftover from lunchtime. Nowhere near usual quality. Badly done London Fryer.
