The Lodge Cafe Review

Hit or miss. Coffee is inconsistant. For my most recent visit my machiato was super milky and not very enjoyable. Staff are friendly and accomodating though and the coffees came quick. Havet had the food, so cant comment of it.

Probably my favorite Cafe in Auckland. Food always taste's great, coffee is even better but the thing that makes it the most is the customer service. Always feel welcome every time I go to this cafe.

They make really good savory scones too.

Amazing friendly staff. Ordered Chimichurri Chicken which I paid $20. The chicken was well cooked. Amazing dish. Will be going there to try few more dishes.

Love this place, super friendly staff, beautiful food (those creamy mushrooms are sublime). Feel so privileged to have such a wonderful cafe right on my back doorstep.

Called in for brunch & had the Lodge Grill, the quality was excellent but only got 1/2 a tomato n 1 small mushroom!!! Needs more veg, the Hakanoa ginger latte is Devine. The menu on the web site needs updating. Sunday 6 October 2019.

Had the carrot cake and it was amazing. Talking to the manager, they make traditional Vietnamese food too which I will be back to try.

Lovely outlook from cafe with floor to ceiling glass. Food is average to good, as is the coffee. Has newish owner & standard has slipped a little but all the usual menu items are available

Fantastic cuisine in modern surroundings. Whether you want a cost dining for two a flat white of a family brunch this is a great place to eat. Beautiful view of the city to boot.

What a fantastic local cafe to get an awesome feed with a smile. As an on and off vegetarian there are great options for both eating habits - I love the halloumi salad! Nice views looking out to the city too

The BEST soy flat white I've had in Auckland. Parking was limited when I went, but it was worth the hassle. Sizes are huge, so definitely value for money. Above all, the staff are amazing - friendly and go above and beyond to make your experience great. A must visit.

Pretty average first visit. Poached egg was fully cooked, however was changed on request which was nice. Hashbrowns smelled of bad oil which was disappointing. Good coffee though.

Service was prompt and professional. Reasonable menu choices for the breakfast time. Big breakfast was not for me as the sausage and hash browns did not agree with me. They replaced mushrooms for an additional poached egg which was nice. They use free range and organic products where possible which is good to see. Tables and chairs are comfortable and different seating types are available.

We got to the Cafe after lunch. My wife was disappointed that they had run out of scones. The waitress immediately said that they would bake us a batch if we were prepared to wait half an hour. I have never experienced that before!

Friendly staffs, decent food, good coffee at reasonable prices. Worth to wait. A great place for gathering.

Food is always well-made & delicious . You can tell they use seasonable produce. Service is very welcoming too. Cafe is well lit with large windows, warm and cosy in winter & gets plenty of sun in summer. If you are in the area, try it.

Decent food but a little expensive. Wasn't impressed with leaving the doors wide open all around. Was really cold and couldn't enjoy the hot tea or hot breakfast. Would be nice to keep the place a little warm.

Fantastic for young families, plenty of parking, plenty of space for prams. Food and coffee are excellent as is the service, fantastic value for money. Honestly, can't fault it!

Friendly enough service though thought meal was pretty average and left approximately 3rd uneaten.

The service was slow. One persons meal arrived after the rest of our group had already finished theirs. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals.

This is not an ideal cafe to eat at if you are gluten free, the only thing I could have on the menu was fruit salad or some pre-packaged gf biscuits on the front counter (not made in house). When I mentioned that alot of cafe's can now cater for gluten free people, (given the high rate of people with coeliacs etc)they didnt offer a response and obviously don't care.

Vietnamese roast pork and lemongrass salad at The Lodge for breaky today was divine! Beautifully roasted pork with a perfect, delicate balance of rice noodles, mint, chilli, palm sugar and nuoc cham dressing with dusting of chopped roast peanuts - the perfect Vietnamese balance of sweet, hot, sour, and salt as only a Vietnamese cook can do! 10 out of 10! and another BONUS!!! they have the best consistent coffee in Auckland that we have found! Lastly, the staff are the friendliest and most attentive that you will find!

Great food, and most importantly in these testing times is the fact that cleanliness is their top priority. Every aspect of the operation is cleaned to a very high standard and it is obvious that the management care. Very highly recommended.
