This was one of our two favourite restaurants on a 4 week trip. Granted, outside the major cities the competition is rarely stiff, but the food here really was good. We had a burrata starter, hangar steak and wild boar pasta dishes for mains, accompanied by some wine and good beer. Everything was excellent.

it s so hard to find a place that has delicious food *and* scrumptious drinks. lions share hits the spot. perfect for (exotic/gamey) meat lovers and cocktail aficionados. one of the only places i can find that has foie, please lmk if you know of any others! and i just learned on my last visit you can purchase prints of their artwork displayed so we snagged one.

I don't know if the staff was rusty from the pandemic or if this is par for the course, but I sat with my date for two and a half hours. We ordered drinks and told the wait staff we would be ordering several rounds of plates. In that time, we only got one round of food and two drink orders served to us. The staff never put on our order for a second round of plates or a third round of drinks. My date stood from the table and began to put her mask on. In the span of the time it took her to fish it from her pocket, which she could not access while she was seated, two different staff members got in her face and yelled about wearing her mask. I think their beef was that she stood first. I have empathy for the staff, but I would say they were overzealous. We made every attempt to comply with their rules and still felt chastised. The food was good. The drinks were clever. The selection of alcohol was on the better side. Service was slow, even when half the place was empty. We ended up moving to another table with another couple and felt like we were inconveniencing the staff every time we ordered. The restaurant had been busier earlier, but by this time there were many available tables. Maybe they cut staff and couldn't handle a four top of people buying drinks? We felt rushed and like we were being pushed out the door. We eventually took the hint and moved on to another place. I'll give The Lion's Share another chance after the pandemic, but it's just an average experience at the moment.

The most romantic lighting ever. The food was delicious. Got the Tomahawk steak, twin lobster tails, Lobster Bisque, Lobster Mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese. Got sooooo full couldn't have dessert. Definently recommend for date night.

For my birthday, only Lion's Share can satisfy. The first time we met (yes, myself and the restaurant), it was like meeting my soul mate but I couldn't bring him home to my parents...because it's a restaurant. From the paintings, to the food, to the drinks, we are talking head to toe somebody I would date...if it weren't a restaurant. Get the sausage plate and the carrots, because that is total foreplay as food. Lion's Share will always, to me, be the sexiest damn restaurant in San Diego. (marry me.)

It was my first time here tonight. The hostess was very helpful and friendly. She helped 4 of us to seat inside after 20 minutes waiting(sat in the bar). I highly recommend making a reservation for this place especially if you want to be seated inside. The food was overall great. For the drinks, I ordered Barbara Streisand it was quite tasty and tarty. I m giving four stars because of the server. He forgot the drinks, he had weird attitude towards a question and he made a mistake on our check. I guess he wasn t having a good day. Anyways, great music and great atmosphere.

I enjoyed myself. Wish I put in my reservations earlier so I could have seen it in better lighting. But the drinks were excellent. The menu impressive and everything I ordered was absolutely delicious. They didn't have camel or antelope when I went but I still got to try a few meats I never had before. If you want time exploring the menu and eating and drinking I suggest going before 9pm.

Great place looked like a hole-in-the-wall and decided to try it out. This is a great recommendation to anyone downtown! A must stop for those visiting San Diego and enjoy being surrounded by the younger crowds!

A true meat-eater's paradise - especially if you like your meats to come out of left field! You don't often see Antelope, Boar, Elk and Rabbit on the same menu but this place manages just that. Our group of colleagues kicked off with a cocktail and some sharing platters before going our own ways on the mains. Our waitress was very helpful with some recommendations - especially on the wine list - and the food itself was superb. It's a little off the beaten track and the menu does appear to be a bit bizarre, but it's worth it, trust me!

Absolutely love this place! The food is amazing, the staff are so incredibly helpful and nice. Unfortunately, my mom was recovering from an illness when she visited Lions Share (not covid) and she got sick in public. The staff didn't even bat an eye, they were on top of everything and made sure we were able to close out or tab quickly and get her home. Thank y'all so much for being so awesome. Hope to come back soon!
