From just booking this hotel I was treated so well! Alvin helped me set up a car service to and from the hotel. Made my niece feel special for her 11th birthday and first time in NYC. They had a card and some chocolates waiting for us in the room. So sweet. The room was decent sized for NYC. Clean and had a good lay out so you didn't feel claustrophobic. Cool touches like the 5-7 wine and cheese social daily and the complimentary breakfast made it so nice. We also took advantage of free services such as a sleep headband that allowed you to listen to soothing music or sounds and free DVD rentals. Love this hotel and it's perfect location near Grand Central station and the New York public library. Less than a mile to Herald Square and Broadway. Will definitely be back.

We were very happy staying at this hotel. Everyone was welcoming, the breakfasts were great and the wine and cheese in the evening much appreciated. It was very cold in December so nice to have a warm lounge to hang our. The only negative was our housecleaning. We had to remind them to replace kleenex etc, the glass shelves in bathroom...

Wonderful little gem of a hotel, structured like a library: every floor has a topic (literature, art, etc), and every room a sub-topic of the particular floor (ancient literature, English literature, etc). Rooms are tiny, but you get free breakfast, free wifi, free snacks during the day and free wine and cheese reception every evening! Staff incredibly nice and welcoming - one of my favorite hotels in the city!

Excellent boutique hotel in heart of Manhattan. Stylish and comfortable. Excellent staff - particularly reception staff. Roof top terrace is great for cocktails. The lounge offers free snacks during the day and free wine/cheese during the evening. If I was going to New York again, this place would be my place to stay.

I went to the Madison & Vine rooftop bar at the Library Hotel, and it was an incredibly classy experience.

- Their overhead musical selection, featuring artists like Celene Dion, nicely filled the room without overwhelming the guests' conversations.
- Price was very reasonable given the atmosphere (e.g. $15 for a glass of wine).
- Staff was very nice and accommodating.

Overall, I would absolutely come back here a heart beat!

I had a small wedding at Library Hotel. It was like a dream come true and every staff was so professional and nice. I was impressed with their service and professionalism.
We rented the entire 14th floor with rooftop.
Margo was exceptional in coordinating: I didn t have a wedding planner for my wedding but Margo kind of played a role of planner for me and it was A LOT of help. Everything was smooth sailing from planning to the day of the wedding.
Highly recommend Library hotel for anyone looking to have a small, intimate wedding in NYC with NY vibe :)

I love boutique hotels and this one surpassed my expectations. Staff catered to my every need and more. Room is on the small side but that's typical of NY hotels.

Location is great and everything you need is close by plus they have a rooftop bar if you fancy a nightcap :)

Breakfast is included which made my business trip much simpler (who wants to go find breakfast before an early morning meeting??). And it was actually good. Don't let the "continental breakfast" put you off, it's far better than you'd assume.

Thank you for making my shory stay amazing. I'll be staying on future business and personal trips.

A great hotel, beautifully themed. Our 11th floor room was larger than most other Manhattan rooms I've stayed in. The bed was amazingly comfortable too - all too often I find hotel beds on the soft side, but this bed was nice and firm and I slept well both nights. Lots of nice touches throughout the room and hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would stay again.

A cozy mid town hotel that feels like home away from home each time I visit. There is a wonderful breakfast included each morning and endless coffee and snacks. Wine, cheese and fruit cap off each day. The staff is wonderful. I don't stay anywhere else.

We love this hotel, its staff, its location. Many times each year since 2005, and we are never disappointed, even when we bring guests. Between Park and Madison on East 54th Street, walkable to almost all of our museums, galleries, shopping, shows, restaurants ... Valet parking, and park once and enjoy the entire of the city!

What an amazing experience! From the moment we walked in the door, we truly felt like guests of honor, not distractions. The staff were unanimously helpful, the rooms were very well appointed, the lounge was cozy and consistently stocked with water and other "treats". The rooftop bar was romantic and a great way to end our night. Check out was simple and easy. It was disappointing to have to leave. We'll be back!

Front facing rooms have direct view of the new York public library It is in amazing location with midtown, Central Park all accessible by foot. fine location / not just for book lovers, very friendly and customer-oriented, cool rooftop and close to the most exciting communal park (Bryant Park), along with beautiful old library buildings

The Library Hotel is so close to most of the tourist areas. It is also nestled in a location in New York that has great restaurants and shopping for those "little things you need" when travelling. The complimentary breakfast and free wifi was a bonus! As a business woman, having to pay for wi-fi daily can add up quickly. The complimentary wine and cheese in the evening and free coffee all day made our stay delightful! I would definitely recommend the Library Hotel for business or pleasure travel.

We recently went to NYC for an extended weekend and stayed at the LH and couldn't have been more pleased from the clean rooms, well worked interior design and artwork throughout to the fabulous free breakfast and wine/cheese and munchies reception every night, but I have to say the best part was the people! Each and every worker we met at the hotel (like Billy) were all very cool, helpful and all went above and beyond the call of duty. They even helped us get the last 2 tickets for the Broadway show "ONCE" which was one of the highlights of the trip. And one last thing to add Grand Central station is just a few blocks away where you can jump on the subway to get you anywhere you need to go. Have a great trip and I hope this helps with your decision. - John and Stephanie from Chicago

If you preference is for intimate, small, boutique, sophisticated hotel then this the hotel for you. If you are a reader, librarian, bookseller, publisher, poet, illustrator or in any way a book person then it is compulsory you stay here. Outstanding service and excellent rooms. (We were in classic literature, on booking you are given some choice, see their website for details). The rooms are not big but still comfortable, very clean and all the features one would expect in a hotel of this standard. The reading lounge is welcoming and is the location breakfast and late afternoon wine and nibbles (included). Conversation optional but encouraged. The location was also ideal as Grand Central Station is walking distance even with a suitcase, and the library is just a few steps away too. Thank you Library Hotel for making my stay in New York unique.

I stayed here with my partner a few weeks ago for a wedding we were attending the next day. We stayed for two nights. We had a little trouble finding it because of the discreet sign, but were nothing but impressed when we walked in. The More

One of the better hotels I've stayed in. Rooms were luxuriously appointed, staff were great and on-site facilities exceptional. Given its location, access to eateries etc was a cinch. Located right by the square and extremely close to a train station. Internet was free. Yes, free. I stayed for a conference and work paid for it (I don't even know how much it cost) but if I ever needed to go back, I would look forward to staying here.

The Library Hotel is just incredible. Located near Grand Central Station and New York Public Library, it has a great location. Rooms have Dewey Decimal themes with reading material, clean bathrooms, and space to move around in. The snack room has good eats any time of day. The top floor has great views and reading nooks.

I love this place! Eclectic. A block from the New York Public Library and the Christmas market at Bryant Square.

The little touches make all the difference and although I m not personally a book lover this place is a book lovers dream. The rooms are identified in a Dewey Decimal theme, there are little nooks to tuck away for a quiet call or a bit of work, and the 2nd floor reading room (where I am now) is a great place to seek an hour or refuge from the room or the city, have a coffee and danish and read a book, the free selection of newspapers or your preferred screen.

Fabulous hotel situated in the heart of mid town Manhattan. A block from Grand Central Station and a block from Grand Library, Bryant Park Friendly staff. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The room numbers are based on the duo decimal system with a different book theme for each room. Wonderful.

I spoke to a woman by the name of carrie, I asked to reserve a room for the 5th of September, she asks me if I spoke to any previous gentleman who worked at the establishment, and I denied her, so I ask her once more, and she says that their booked, and she ubruptly hangs up

I call back again, and then a man named Tim picks up the phone, and I ask him about the situation before, with the employee hanging up, he agrees and tells me he knows about the situation, and yet does nothing about it, I ask if I could reserve a room for the 5th of september, he tells me their booked, then I ask them for one in the range of the 6-10 of september, and then he tells me he's gonna have to get right back to me, within a sarcastic tone

He asks for my phone number, I give him it, I tell him my name, Seamus Macleod, and then he says in a sarcastic tone

Hah, thats a good one, and then Hangs up Abruptly, and yet never calls me back Worst Hotel Service I've ever dealt with in my entire life, Don't try going to this establishment, it isnt worth your time, and dignity

I CALL THEM BACK 15 MINUTES LATER, AND WHEN I ASK FOR A RESERVATION, THEY KEEP HANGING UP ON ME.

When I informed the hotel they said they are separate companies.
